For sure, and if you listen to Insomnium "The Conjurer" (2020) you'll clearly recognize the (same) guitar chorus in it !! They're still influencing the major melodeath bands today...
Sweating blood Wading in mud Pulling heavy carriage On this road to nowhere Pounding rain A roaring thunder Trying to maintain sanity Fading consciousness Every whiplash throws me back to this nightmare I will break my leash I will break the bond between us And prove my innocence Running through the woods And an open field A feeling of freedom Is just passing by Once I was a hunter Now I've become prey They can tear me to pieces But my ghost will stay whole I am exhausted Feels like I'm reaching the end I keep on falling You were my master You treated me like a pet Now I have my own opinion Cut off the ropes Seal my wounds Let me run away to find my brigade Give back my name And my dignity I want to run free with my brigade I was your slave with no name You defiled my body But you couldn't destroy my soul I'm the growing rage I'll break all the chains No one can stop me I give you salvation Now it's my turn to look down on you While you're digging your own grave I am immortal I will make you lose your mind And you will see the light Cut off the ropes Seal my wounds Let me run away to find my brigade Give back my name And my dignity I want to run free with my brigade
I really recommend checking out the video director/animator's stuff he is pretty awesome. If you like shoegaze/post rock/metal be sure to listen to his band Les Discrets, as stated in the video's info :)
I know Ghost Brigade since 2012, I think, yet I heard about Cult of Luna only after Vertikal came out... And damn, boy, only now I realized the similarities between both bands! Seems like GB have been listening to CoL a lot... and that makes me love both bands even more
I think if this band had better backing and US exposure, they would've been an undoubted hit. A brilliant band with a sound that fit the radio culture.
I fucking love this band. Isolation Songs was an amazing album. The crazy thing is every time I listen to new stuff from them, at first I like it, but the more I listen to it the more I realize it ingrains itself in my mind and it keeps on growing. Loving this song more and more, can't wait to listen to the album again. Amazing work guys, as always. The only band that ever made me cry during a live performance lol.
i think that exactly this is what makes this band so good, i love how their songs are built up and the overall mood their CD's create. but yeah...taste differs i guess hehe ;-)
I have seen them twice, the first time I didn't know them. Watched them for a minute and was like: what the f##k is this? Went straight to the merchandise after the concert and bought every cd they had. Fan since then...
i had heard this song many times listening through the album at work but when i saw the video it just put the song in a completely different light for me. i didnt even notice that there are 3 guitars going at once at one point.... this song is amazing and the end of this video with all the white and the running with that amazingly dramatic riff backing it...... best album this year by far. good fucking job Ghost Brigade,
Found this song on a Devin Townsend Project song radio on Spotify...stoked that I found this song and band! the lead singer looks like Sith Lord Palpatine singing with the hood on 🤘
