I love how Ghost is such a dark band lyrically and musically, but when it comes to pleasing their fans, they're more than happy to throw a little bit of comedy in there.
*They got rid of all the cliches. Why this ancient, obscure and satanic order has to be serious? The Vatican is serious but not them, and that's the trick, for them Darkness is their happy place and Satan is their beloved and beautiful God.* *Same goes to their music, is so dinamic and powerful, almost positive but in their lyrics you find how dark they really are. Ghost is a fantastic Band.*
I dont understand how are they so dark it all seems like some good skits and funny but not overly trying 2 be funny i dont see whats so dark and bad about this i like em
@@mixz9929 who said anything about "bad"? "dark = bad" only if you're 3 or growth stunted. But yes, Ghost is a full on parody band. If you want a TRULY dark band, try Evergrey. also far from bad, but wow are they dark.
@@Morguedance13 I 3rd that motion! And was it just me, because I am old AF, or did he seem to be channeling Charlie Chaplin in this video? It's all good in the "hood"! 😉🤘🔥💨
The Cardinal enters with that beautiful music and turns out it was the radio he was carrying....bloody hell😂😂🤣. People forget that being dark doesn't mean that one must be serious all the time and can't have humor.
@@dulcetious I'm guessing the ministry is somewhat structured the same as the catholic church but the fact they give out employee of the month awards makes it seem more like a work place than a religious institution. Also he's a cardinal at this point in time, which if he was catholic would be right below the pope. So this means either Nihil has more than him, which I doubt, or some random other person in the ministry. Also he's suspected to be in his 50's and to reach the level of cardinal would take many many many years which must mean he has a shit ton of awards but still somehow only in second place.
It is! Thanks Obie "REG: They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, and not just from us, from our fathers, and from our fathers' fathers. LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers. REG: Yeah. LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers' fathers."
Why people seem not understand about the Cardi C personality. He's young silly inexperienced and clumsy. Across the time and tour he must to perfect his skill so reach the papas final form, like a training period. Its funny and dinamic, putt a litte bit of hummor on the papas deal. I love the crazy sexy and hilarius Cardi C. Im a new fan and i love the Band
He can't actually be that young. Its heavily implied Cardinal Copia is the son of Papa Nihil and Sister Imperator from 1969 so Copia is actually on his 50s at least.
The latin he is speaking is the first two stanzas of "Dies irae" - a Roman Catholic hymn that was part of Requiem Mass for centuries until Vatican II in the 1960s. First two lines read "The day of wrath, that day will dissolve the world in ashes". There - thats a thing you all know now. Go forth and multiply.
Funfact: Dies Irae was also cited by Camille Saint-Saens in the piece "Danse Macabre"... Pretty sure, Tobias did quite a lot of research in music history, especially in middle age's music ;)
@@GutesBrot Of course, Tobias also (unhappily) went to Catholic school, which is where I'm pretty sure he picked up the Latin... the rest, he seems to have a head like a sponge and a great sense of humour.
The little fist bump, the looks around the room while they’re talking, the boom box. What is not to love about the humor of this? Can’t wait to see his skull face paint and hear that single!
Yes after the bats cleared the theater and Papa and the Ghouls were still calmly seated, the cardinal appears, on a grave marker, and Papa is like ‘Oakie Dokie! Time to go!’ 😂
For anyone trying to find this exact music, it’s at the end of the song Pro Memoria. It’s indeed the instrumental from Life Eternal that Tobias has put at the end of Pro Memoria. The music at the beginning of the video is also Pro Memoria.
I love how ghost never feels to make these videos like comic books and horror films. The Papa III vs Copia concept is fantastic and very superhero-like! I'm team light on this one.
@@Jmalher I do know what "nigh" means. I did miss that it was "nigh" and not "nine" though. Thanks for pointing that out! The main thing that cracked me up though, was that he said "minellium" instead of "milennium". Not a criticism, just thought it was humorous.
Man, I fucking love Ghost. Incredible music, mixed with a fascinating story, and they sound just as good live as they do on any album. Thank you, Ghost.
I agree! Also a christian, and I also felt bad listening at first. But I realized that God understands it’s a band. And at the end of the day, that’s all it is! Enjoy it people! 😊😊
I'm just going with the flow here. I don't care how silly they can be at times, I love Ghost and the charm that they carry with them ☺️ I totally understand why some are not so into it and prefer things to be more darker. I like dark too but adding that hint of cheese to it is the sort of thing I'm a sucker for.
You owe it to yourself to see them Live if you haven't already. Best concert I've ever been to. Great music, entertaining and just all around a great experience.
I’m actually quite excited about our new Cardinal! Very humorous and I think once we get some new music it will all fit into place. I will miss Papa III though as he is the first I saw live.
"Copia" in swedish and italian means similar, fake or even fraud. Plus at the end of the video Sister invites the cardinal to change suit. Usually when a cardinal gets elected he becomes pope, and that's what is gonna happen I think. I suppose that we have a lot more to expect...
I know this band for 4 days now, and sincerely, i was a little afraid with the satan thing but couldnt deny how catchy the songs and his voice are...listening was a guilty pleaseure kind of thing. First time here in their channel and i am amazed with the humour they have...not so affraid now as well. I will get it as a kind of new "Addams Family" and listen to more.
I've noticed a trend with the last two Papas. Each have had two different looks, one more dressed up and the other more dressed down. If i'm right this is the more dressed down look and whenever the third video comes out they'll likely debut Cardinal Copia in his final, more traditional form with makeup and everything same with the ghouls. Time will tell I guess. Also, second most employee of the month awards is pretty damn impressive lol
I have a bad habit of bursting out into a fit of giggles whenever Pro Memoria comes on because when I hear that opening instrumental, I think of this video.
What Maialeen said...besides, I'm pretty sure comical anti-climax is the point anyways...and Im sure this is nowhere near the end considering the comical nature of the Cardinal's name....
Sometimes, when I'm really down and sad, I come here and watch all the Copia chapters. He's my comfort character ♥ 1:06 look at that ever-worried face 🥺
This is the equivalent of Papa II without the makeup on that one studio session video. They even said they’re going to be giving him a new costume in this video.
Did you noticed that the girls that were along with Papa Nil in chapter 1 also looked like that? He looks like that because he wasn't a pope until now. So, probably the next time we will see him, he will probably have the same skullish makeup as the other popes. Since he will be a copy from them. Translated from Italian word COPIA and the word KOPIA swedish that means COPY or even FRAUD. There is a major shift in the tide coming up. Copia will have the guidance of P.Nil, but I think Copia will rebel and be sort of a "anti-pope" He is a rebel... The bling bling on the cross, the boom box on his shoulder, the pornstash. I hope I'm wrong... I kind of liked Emeritus III, But I wish that Ghost really go back to the darker ages as Papa Nil said.
When he said "My father was papa. His father. His father's father. His father's father's father. His father's father's father's father's father..." I felt that
This "reveal" could have been done years ago (Lore wise) during III's time. Would give enough time for Nil to get sick...etc. And it was all prep time for Cardinal Copia to learn (as you see here, The cardinal looks a little awkward and nervous) I'm guessing with the next chapter, we'll skip 2 years and see Copia turned fully into Papa IV with his red outfit (as seen in the 8 track video) and the way he looks on the "rats on the road" tour poster. I could be 100% wrong of course.
Ron Ghoul From what I saw on the last episode, this conversation happened in march 2018, so I guess we will not skip two years, but it is true that there is no way they can let him go on stage so inexperienced, and tour starts in a month, so you may be on to something
Tobias is so clever Ghost are a smart band the videos and album fit together so well i hope they become massive who else is doing inventive stuff like this.
