I just got really into it. ^w^ Got them cathedral doomsday vibes. A perfect companionship for my country’s horrifying descent into fascism as climate change wears on...
@ 3:38 when he looks at the camera! OMG, my heart & soul!! THIS song is underrated!!! This is my favorite, wow simply haunting! Awesome video. CAN"T stop listening to it!
Okay, I am taking comfort in the fact that I am NOT the only woman that is strangely attracted to a dude with a weird mask on, and weird colored contact lenses. It must be his voice and those sexy legs, and the rest of his body and how he moves.....
@@juliegogola4647 Oh not alone. I do prefer Cardinal but he's still the only guy who makes me almost lose consiousness haha.. Those legs, that soft body language, the voice and just everything. But I was also in love with Disney's Robin Hood fox when I was a kid, so I guess characters are my thing 😂
@@Ullisen My favorite was Papa 3, but, of course it is all Tobias anyway. His knees are so sexy. ALL of him is sexy really. The personality on stage is just great. I can't wait to see what Tobias comes up with for the next CD. I'm not sure WHEN that will be though.
Nope, just got really into them about a month ago & Papa III OWNS me. That "look" makes my heart skip several beats, buckles my knees and makes me forget my name...😮
OK, I'm not knocking this band, not TRYING to be a hater. I just need someone to explain Ghost. Now, this is just my opinion so I know nobody's really going to care. I just don't get the hype. Musicianship wise....nothing special, just average Vocals, nothing, again in my opinion, I feel I really must have in my music collection. I mean, does it take wearing Face Paint and a costume to become famous? That's all been going on since the late 60's, then, God help us, KISS.....and so on. Please explain what makes them special. Maybe I haven't heard the right songs yet. Feel free to reply with some song suggestions. Again, I'M NOT TRYING TO BE A HATER......I just don't understand what they're doing that hasn't already been done. Most people won't like the music I listen to and that's fine. Send me your suggestions and answers as to what makes them so......"great!" Please be respectful as I have been. Thanks
Hey Keith, I understand what you're saying, I wasn't really into Ghost until about a year ago and didn't get the hype either. Eventually their music grew on me. I consider myself a fan now but I do have to say some of their songs are not my cup of tea. I'd say their main quality and what makes them so popular is genre versatility: the contrast between their first album (heavy metal) and their last EP (80s pop-rock) is pretty flagrant. I think it's interesting to see them constantly change up their style. You've mentioned the theatrical aspect and their clergy aesthetic (and that's just a question of taste, I personally like it). But this goes hand in hand with their satanist theme, which is obviously very dramatized (they're throwing an act after all) but most if not all their lyrics remain critical towards religion. If you're familiar with metal, you'll know those themes (anti-religion) are very common in the metal community but the thing is that Ghost's music - even the heaviest of their songs - is still pretty accessible to a big part of the mainstream public. And so, Ghost carries the classic, rebellious metal songwriting onto generally melodic songs and without scream vocals: this is what makes a lot of people consider them 'in between' mainstream rock and metal, and this is why they have a large audience. Hope this wasn't too long; just thought I'd share my two cents since you wondered what made them 'special'. As for recommendations, I'd say songs like Faith, Cirice, Rats or Square Hammer could be considered a good embodiment of their music. Kiss the Go-Goat & Mary on a Cross have catchy tunes also. So if you wanna give them another try, feel free to maybe listen to some of these. I respect your opinion nonetheless. Preferences are subjective after all. Peace!
@@mikUu01 Thank you for your extremely kind reply. I honestly thought I'd end up getting a ton of "Haters" responding, letting me know just how much of a loser I am and bashed filled, profanity laced new names for me!! .....lol.... FYI, I am just a middle aged ( mid 50's) Metalhead who enjoys finding bands here, on RU-vid, some my 25 year old daughter loves, I've heard mention but have never heard their music. Personally, I'm really big in to European Power Metal. Bans like Primal Fear, Stratavarious, Hammerfall.....among many others, or who some people call Fantasy or Fairy Metal, my usual Priest from the mid 70's to today's Fire Power, Deep Purple, Black Country Communion...... I love Progressive Metal like Sons Of Apollo, Liquid Tension Experiment, all the way to Hard Rockin' Blues...aka, Joe Bonamassa among others. I live in the States however, where I live, it's extremely rare ANYONE ever comes here. Until last year, every Summer, we had a 3 day long Metal Festival, called Ft. Rock, where the Boston Red Sox held their Spring Training until all the old "Snowbirds "........another word for the OLD, RICH people from up North that decide to retire or owned homes here to stay in when Winter arrived, started complaining. Since our City "Leaders" are former Snowbirds, they knew it had to be moved a couple of hours East, towards Miami, or risk losing all the money part time residents spent during their stay!!! Ruined the Metal Music scene here. Sorry but Marilyn Manson takes the satanic part too far. He's from around here....a few hours Northeast.....and I happen to know quite a few people that knew him before he hit the big time. He truly lives his persona and how John 5 played for him as long as he did before he got smart and left!! It was too much for him. Performers like Rob Zombie.....John 5 plays with his band now.... OK....I'm rambling. Back on target..... It just seemed, in order to make it, you had to wear a Plastic Mask with a KFC Bucket on your head, dress up like Mudvane, bang on a 50 Gallon Drum, which contributed ZERO to the music......I mean, it was OVERKILL in the STUPID LOOKS TO MAKE MONEY playing music. Like I said earlier, there's always been people using gimmicks for attention. That's all fine and dandy. Beginning in the last part of the 90's to now Ghost, it's getting boring. Even people got tired of H.I.M. WHERE IS HE NOW? Probably playing Ramadan and Holiday Inns somewhere. Now, I'm apologizing to you for my rant!!! Again, I appreciate your respectful reply and I WILL look into your song suggestions. Now, my fingers getting tired typing this on my phone!!! Take care and ttyl! Keith
Its called showmanship he’s a performer as much as a singer songwriter its like a mockery of religion Christianity mainly both light and dark parts like deus in absentia is latin for god is absent i think his vocals are exceptional for what he’s doing and the theme is good look at square hammer its about the free masons for the most part
