Dear Mr Cooper, this was the first video I ever saw of Ghost and I would like to thank you. For the last 2 years I’ve become addicted (not in a bad way) to this band. BTW my first concert was Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1977
This makes me smile! Love being able to turn people to Ghost! It's definitely easy to become addicted. Such an interesting and talented group! Around 2015, I went on a 10 hr road trip w/a friend of mine and he started with "Square Hammer" which opened my eyes to them, and it was all over from there 🤣
This has to be some of the best footage from a concert taken by a fan ever. Not ultra blurry or gettimg drowned out by the crowd, filmed in IMAX out here.
Ghost is the last band I would expect to do a cover if Sweet Home Alabama and they sounded pretty damn good. Cool watching the guys having fun and not taking themselves too seriously.
This is the advantage Ghost has in using two separate bands to record music and tour with. Papa Emeritus IV only allows the finest entertainers to join his traveling ghouls ;]
When you see Ghost, you're not going to a concert, you're having a surreal experience. It's like nothing else you've ever heard or done before in your life. The memories live on forever.
@@logansummers1551 What is the point of demeaning this persons experience? So what if thy haven't been to many concerts. How do you know they haven't? What if they have gone to more concerts than you but just found this band to be special? There is no need to spread useless negativity.
Not quite there. As long as puerile slop is played on radio this sort of thing will never be heard by most people. The younger generation is missing out on so much being forced by SONY to listen to idiotic drool by Niki Minaj, Taylor Swift or that Land Whale LIzzo and their garbage auto tune and their 50 million backing dancers (just to mention 3). Almost every single modern act looks and sounds the same on stage and in the studio.
Phew, the sound out of that strat at the beginning is absolutely insane. So perfectly crisp, while distorted and echoing. To be able to maintain the typical, and beautiful, strat tone while being so heavily distorted is amazing. Truly a masterful touch
I love the fun them two guitarists had trying to outdo each other. This is what Rock n roll is all about. People having fun and giving the paying crowd a good show in the process. Well done guys, I will definitely be looking at your CD's from now on.
My very first concert was when I was 9 years old in 1991 and it was poison and warrant it was a great night cool concert from what I remember I also got strep throat for the first time that night as well
This is brilliant! Metal guitarist often get called out for not being that great, just loud and distorted but these boys can play! Fantastic touch and feel from both of them, love it.
Damn Ant-Man and the Wasp can really play 😅 how have I never heard of these guys before! What a performance!!!! Will definitely be checking them out some more 🤘🏻
@@FlixMaker64 they pretty good as far as licks go my guy. I know my music I don’t need some bum on YT to tell me my music 👍🏻 fyi Van Halen was one of the greats
Amazing. It seems like they're playing songs relevant to each location during this segment. So far I've heard Deep in the Heart of Texas in TX, Sweet Home Alabama in AL, Baby We Were Born to Run in NJ (where Springsteen is from), We're Not Gonna Take It on Long Island (where Twisted Sister is from), and the french anthem in Paris. Another layer of brilliance on an endlessly brilliant tour. Does anyone know of any others?
I had never even heard of "Ghost" because radio doesn't wish to play Heavy Metal any longer. Classic Rock, most certainly because it is for the people who are 50-60+ years old, but ... I am 60+ years old and I wish to hear new bands, new sounds and see new acts and this video is just so unusual and cool that bands such as "Ghost" should be on the airwaves!!!
Best thing you can do is find other mediums to listen to music to. Hell, try youtube; start out with someone you know and then just follow suggestions till you get to bands you never heard of. Spotify is also good for such things. Radio (sadly) is dead.
I was at this show! It was my first time seeing Ghost live and I was sitting in the nosebleeds where Aether was performing. I had a great time seeing them and my dad did too, he loved their rhythm :) hopefully I can get him to listen to more of their music, they rock!!
I don't recall ever hearing Ghost before. I do know that when you have stacks of Marshall amps and guitars, it's gonna ROCK! Looked like a badass show. Keep on jamming .
Best concert ever. I saw them in Tucson, Arizona. The Ghouls were the best. Goofing off and having a good time. The guitar battle was epic. If Ghost ever comes back to Arizona, I am seeing them again.
This literally just got recommended to me by RU-vid. Yes I watch a lot of guitar stuff etc but how the fuck have I not heard of these guys before?!?!?????!!???! Who are they? How long they been out n what planet are They from? They’re amazing
I heard them on the radio. I didn't like them. Watched them live with Volbeat. I am now a fan for life! The band is one of the best live shows on the planet! Worth every penny!
Oh friend. Go in a ghost dive. Promise you won't be disappointed. Although fair warning. A few songs you might hear once and be like meh. Then the second time your bobbing along. Third time you're singing at the top of your lungs. This has happened to me with a few of them.
I got to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers with Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes play this song as the finale at the Amphitheater in Pelham, Alabama back in the early 90's. It was epic.
@@blackz06 lol. I started researching and the concert I went to was 2005. Those were different times then and my memory is hazy at best. Derek started with Allman Brothers full time in '99.
@@shannonjensrud5712 no, I don't and I'm not suggesting that I do, but they didn't play anything that I can't. Which is kind of my point. These guys are mediocre at best! If you want to see actual top notch guitar playing, watch the G3 Live in Denver video with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen. Check out some Randy Rhoades videos, Mick Mars, Eddie Van Halen, John 5, literally almost anyone in a semi known band are expenitially better than these ass hats.
I wasn't sure about Ghost at first, but taking cues certainly from The man Alice Cooper, and having a good sense of song structure and music, Tobias Forge has created both a band with good really consistent songs, and an "act" to watch during a show. I think he is in touch with what youth today want, which was always Nikki Sixx's greatest ability.
being from Alabama , it surprises me to hear everyone else that is not from Alabama get so excited over this song. But i love it when i see people react to it the way they do. Gives me a little sense of pride.
It's just a great rock song. Everyone knows it and can sing along. It doesn't matter where in the world it's played, people know it and love it. They probably don't know the backstory and doesn't get the references, but they do know the chorus.
What a fun show!!! (If you had never seen Joe Satriani or had little idea of technical guitar playing or composition). But most of us fall into that category, huh? Besides it is live, and we are here!!! ❤🔥
I just now came across Ghost, while searching for upcoming concerts near me.. wanted to see who they were and genre... This is now my 6th or 7th video I've watched in a row... I'm hooked, and in love. Great tunes, and thanks so much for this video, too!
Absolutely! They seem to be one of those bands you either dislike them or you go all-in on them lol. But for me they are the complete package. First and foremost I love the music. Secondly the live performances are just jaw-dropping. That the whole spiel in lore behind the band is just a fantastic bonus! If you haven't looked into some of those lore videos I highly recommend it. Also they have different short film "chapters" That explain a lot as well and most are usually pretty hilarious too
I was at this show! First ritual and well worth the 16 hours round trip of driving lol hopefully the come closer to the Coast next time but man, what a fantastic show they put on!
Skynyrd always puts a smile on my face. Jam it on my commute. Play "Curtis Lowe" when I'm low. Play "Saturday Night Special" as loud as I can take it when I'm feeling good. And "Free Bird" for everything in-between.
I have to admit I dont know this band, however, it is cool to see dueling guitars. Old school rock stuff. Man this is awesome, thanks for sharing. If you look at the guy playing stage right he references his watch by looking and tapping on it. I wonder if he saw the awards show where thay cut Frank Sinatra off right in the middle of his performance and went to a commercial. When Billy Joel took the stage right after that he did the same thing during his performance. He stopped playing looked out over the audience and then started looking at he watch. This guy playing the guitar reminded me of that. Anyways, this is awesome.
Well hopefully you get a second and do a little RU-vid dive on them. They are so much more than just the music. They're the total package. They're a bit polarizing but I absolutely love them!
