Faces of dead relatives and friends who had passed decades ago appear in a photo belonging to Mary Couse who wrote to Burke's Backyard to share her story. Mary's husband had sadly died on their bush block in 1984. Ten years later, her brother visited Mary at her block and his wife took a photo, which she had printed and posted it to Mary. When Mary received the photo in the mail she could not believe what she saw, her husband's face peering out from the photo, directly above the spot he had died. Soon, more faces began to emerge.
This segment was filmed in 1995 at Mary's block in Hattonvale, Queensland (Australia). Mary was not seeking any sort of payment, fame or recognition but wanted to share her remarkable find as she knew Burke's Backyard host Don Burke & many viewers of the program also lived on bush blocks and thought talking about it might help her understand why the faces appeared in the photo and what it might mean.
