I will not jump to dodge. That is not the samurai way. Edit: Wow, didnt know i had this many likes and comments until i fixed a RU-vid issue . Thanks gamers.
@Hawker75 Samurai use Shuriken(Shuriken literally means "Swords are hidden under the sleeve"), Sickle, all sorts of weapons that Samurai also say that they are "Dishonorable" =)))) Also, as a Samurai himself said "There are no "Dishonorable way, just kill them", then i would not say that "Samurai way" did even exist at all.
Tip,just for fun Leave one enemy alive after taking out a camp or patrol and use them as practice for parrys and dodges, then when your done use what you've learned and end them
Came for just the perfect parry advice but learned a good deal more especially with how valuable the jumping + dodge animation is. Thanks for this informative video man!
I KNEW IT. The more I played the game the worse I got because I got used to using circle instead of x. I used x all the time to dodge in monster hunter so it took a while to get used to. But then I realized it was better in this game anyway now that my muscle memory is set in place ;-;
I like to change stances in the middle of combo. It's mind blowing with little practice. Breake their guard, change stance, hits - light/heavy,change stance, repeat. You can "circle" all stances during fight and it will give you new perspective of the game. If I can do it,you can for sure 😉 Enjoy!
jump man..jump - stagger/dodge. this game deserves goty tbh. even if cyberpunk is living the hype, i might choose this game bcs it didint delay, it did, but sony make it that way so tlou2 could survive the sale.
I got the game on launch day but I only got to where he initially falls off the bridge. I took a month long break from the game and when I came back I could not fight a guy with a spear because I had no idea what to do. Your video just saved me. Now I can continue on without having to restart the game. Thank you.
I am using the Kensei armor which boosts ghost weapons significantly, and I use kunai knives a ton. Because of that, I use a charm that grants 1 kunai for every perfect dodge. So I have to master the timing of the perfect dodge, so using this jump dodge technique isn't an option this playthrough. But the perfect dodges are so satisfying to pull off!
Ah yes if that’s your build then jump dodge won’t be your thing. I suggest check out my tsushima build playlist tho to see how much further you can optimized that kensei armour. There are many charms you can add to that armour to make it unstoppable.
How you feel about this compare to AC odyssey ? I just finished odyssey before this the similarities is strong but GTS feels less hectic and busy. Odyssey was a LOT going on.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial Honestly, I prefer this over AC Odyssey not just because it's based on Japan though that is a factor. I like how the combat works, it's not like you have to be a certain level to kill people which is my main gripe with the new AC games and it also looks prettier.
I just started playing GoT about two weeks ago (I know way late to the party) and I am struggling somewhat. But now I can’t wait to get back to it. That jump + dodge technique alone is a lifesaver.
I'm so glad you're putting out content for this game. Your NBA 2k tutorials are legendary. I've watched a bunch of other combat videos and yours is far superior. Thank you sir
Thanks man I appreciate the kind words.my next tutorial for Tsushima will be a build tutorial. Hopefully you have time to check that out and give me some feedback on it. I am really enjoying my experience making these combat game type tutorials
Imo.. this is the greatest game of all time (after Diablo 2) and This is the best combat tutorial video ive seen, because the secret to combat success in Ghost is all about parrying and counter attacks.. Thanks for this.. 🙏👍
This is the best combat guide for this game on the internet. Just start this game on pc. Has terible time with parry. Come here. Now I go for white flash and nail 90% perfect parry. Also don't know jump was super op. Now I jump dodge and kill a grope of enemies with ease. I play on hard btw. This guide made start of the game on hard more manageable.
Here some tips my friends. 1- In duels if you are struggling dodge back and do stabs with stone stance. 2- you can kill a group of 9 in like 6 seconds by hitting a 3 person standoff followed by a smoke bomb into a 3 chain assasination followed by a dance of wrath. And if you want to hit a fat 10 use heavens slash followed by a heavy attack. (Let's be real if you find 10 guys in a group you done goofed)
If you enjoyed this I definitely suggest to go see more combat tips and build tutorials from my Tsushima playlist. Lots of even better information there :)
Excellent vid, sir. Subscribed. Jump dodge/warp is brilliant. Similar to the R3 concentration method (which is also VERY clever), the R2 stance change technique is effective as time also slows (depress and hold R2 as enemy attacks then initiate parry basically). Problem is you can't dodge while depressing R2. Anyway, great job!
If you enjoy those combat tips. I highly recommend checking out my Tsushima build videos for some advance combat tips. Check them out, would like to hear what you think in those and if they helped you have more fun with the game :)
After watching this video I’m just halfway into this game and I might start all back over to gain more perfect parry and max him out.. why didn’t I see this tutorial earlier... thanks bro for the info
Ah should be okay. Eventually you get more technique points then you need, no need to restart. I do suggest check out my Tsushima build tutorials tho those will help you map and plan out your jin’s fighting style much better.
Jump and slash to close the distance. Then jump and dodge when you are closed in. Keep enemies spaced out jump away if you have to. And you should be good. Fight with patience and not emotions like Jin saids lol good luck out there
The wait was justified. Just got my copy. I also found a glitch. I was in some village and I jumped around a window and Jin floated a bit and was caught in a matrix-like floating and if I did not move the controller, he likely would be still stuck. I may do a video for my channel.
There’s a technique you can unlock that one-hit kills nearly everything with a special animation if you strike after a perfect dodge. I prefer that to jumping around lol
Good find on the bow trick! In these types of games there are usually many types of slowdown though. I'm thinking that there's probably a stance switch/equipment select menu that'll most likely slow down the game too. Maybe you can do something with that?
Dude the step back then parry is god mode. You are essentially creating a bigger window to perfect parry so your reaction doesn't have to be as exact. Very nice .
The problem with jump dodging is, it does not look natural, It is better to dodge with a side step because it seems like real sword fighting and better for immersion.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial I immediately looked up dodging & parrying before I started playing and to see it posted already after I just received my collector's edition in the mail, it truly helped out my start in the game. Super glad I saw it before hand.
Lots of hidden details in this game yes. If you wanna see and learn about some interesting way to make player builds I suggest going to my Tsushima playlist to watch a few of the build videos
Yo, love this video. I've been kinda instinctively jump dodging because sometimes Jin won't move. Also I've been not doing the assassin style fighting so I have like 6-8 people on me and jumping is definitely the way. Also Never thought about that bow trick. kinda makes me think about the archer armor
I'm really getting to like both parrying and dodging. Was pretty ok with dodging before but perfect parrying the timing was iffy. I've played this game so much now including more practice with parrying I'm finally pretty confident with it. And this is without the parrying/dodging charm which I can't tell you the last time I slotted it in. I'm eagerly looking forward to executing this jump dodge combo first thing tomorrow as I believe it will add an extra skill. I tried doing it after I commented last but got it wrong so didn't try it further. What I was doing was just jumping to evade, then counter and was getting clipped. Having replayed the tutorial twice times since last I now realise I gotta jump and dodge leading into the counter. So looking forward to trying it out. Also the slow mo parry.
Jump avoid is huge. I suggest check out my Tsushima build tutorial. I did a boss fight and a specific build there when the jump avoid concept is even more effective when you got the right armour and charm sets.
If you are interested to see some gameplays and very unique builds from be I suggest check out my tsushima playlist. You will find some really fun and awesome gameplays there
The first half of the game i tried so hard to avoid stealth kill ghost weapons etc, i would just barge into camps etc, but later it doesn't matter because you become ghost anyway so the rest of the game i just goes ballistic with all tools and method, it was much more fun, although i was hoping you'll get different option, dialogue/storyline when sticking with samurai code
THANK YOU SO MUCH, OMG. I'm here because I love playing Legends with matchmaking but I am consistently WAY worse than whoever I'm teamed up with and I feel awful for being such a shitty teammate haha. Granted I basically just started so I haven't had a chance to build up my character but still, I can tell I'm just not as good as other people haha. I'm really hoping this will help! 🤞
