Ghost of Tsushima is a fun and challenging game with a bit of a learning curve at the start. Here are some tips & tricks. Subscribe for more: ru-vid.com?su...
I have been on this for 20 hours and still on Act 1. That opening tho when you are running through the grass and it comes up with Ghost of Tsushima 10/10
@@callisto537 Doing the same thing, still got a few side missions to do, before going to Castle Kaneda. I'm focused on clearing the whole map, and trying to find the rest of the camps I need to liberate. Also leveling and upgrading my equipment that way. Already have my legend at Hero of Tsushima, all stances, and ghost weapons. Fully upgraded half bow and samurai armour.
Addicted to this game. The load screen speed puts every game in existence to absolute shame. The beauty of the land and animations, the combat control, stealth, and story are impeccable. Love it, I recommend to anyone
@@dknight121212 I haven't been able to pet one for like the last 5 shrines and I'm actually getting pissed at the game...I WANT TO PET ZEE FOXES, GAYM!
I never thought anything would overtake witcher 3 in my entire life time ,Horizon zero dawn came close ,god of war came even closer ,but I think I'm finna decrown witcher 3 for this game ,I ain't felt like this in a while
Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I also think I've encountered multiple different calls, which each have a different draw speed, which would allow for greater strategy and less predicability, making both more realistic, and more difficult for the player. And when the other enemies are defeated, the archers shoot much more rapidly, as they don't have to worry about their allies. Very ingenius way of tieing logic into game balance.
One thing I absolutely appreciate is them giving us fast travel right away. Just little things like that I've noticed that just make the game more fun and less frustrating
@@Shin-ps8jpYeah but you aren’t able to fast travel right away it’s gonna take a FEW hours of gameplay until you unlock it. Plus, the loading screen is long as hell. Most of the time it’s not even worth fast traveling in RDR2 because the loading screen takes longer than the horse would’ve
This game kicks ass. I've probably played 15-20 hours and I still haven't explored over half of the first landmass in the game. There's so much do to I keep finding myself getting sidetracked.
I put over 30 hours in this weekend and finished all three acts with only a few of the necessary side missions. Now to try and clear out the rest.....footnote, the game shows me at only 10% completion, that's a lot of game play left :D
@@chipthomas1 damn man remember you can only play the game for the first time once.... when I beat a game I lose interest to do the other things cause I have no reason to do the otger things
@ty Wins I also spend over 20h and I didn't even do that. Gotta do it tomorrow. The tales and other side stories are just too much fun to play the main story and go to the next part xD
The shout from archers is actually to make sure their teammates know they’re gonna fire an arrow so that just shows how much attention to detail there is in the game
This! I was looking for this comment! If I remember correctly the Mongols Archers yell something along the lines of “Dosho!” which in Mongolian actually roughly translates “Down!” as in “Get down! I’m firing and need a clear shot!”
@@ahumanlookingraccoon8147 also, during Ishikawa's quest line, the archers trained by Tomoe don't shout and almost always hit their target. True attention to detail
@@ahumanlookingraccoon8147 fr, Mount & Blade with the Sengoku Jidai mod is one of the best samurai experiences out there. I want something similar in a AAA scale soon
my gripe, i have 2 actually. 1. getting all skill points is abit boring to me, i would feel like it would be better if we just got a set amount of it, and you could forge a build of your own. like, i went full deflection tree at first, and then all of the stance skills. thats a pretty sweet build for pure swordplay, and then maybe have a few extra points to put wherever. i just feel like this would make more sense also, considering all the armor types we can get that also change up your gameplay style. but also, in one way it is also nice, just change your gear to kensei armor for example, and use ghost weapons also, or to gosaku armor for a more aggressive oriented combat style. so its nice that you can change it up when you feel like it, i just feel like it would be abit more fun if you could forge your own build imo. 2. i hate the fact that you have 1 button to do things with, 1 button to mount horse, talk to NPCs, pick up items, open doors etc etc. been so many situations where i want to do 1 thing but but another instead. like, park my horse next to a hotspring, i go in, and when i come out i accidently go back in. it hasnt happened enough for it to be annoying though, i just think they should have switched it abit. either way, those 2 points dont take away from what i think of the game, i absolutely love it and is a 10/10 game.
@@juansalvadorgarcinifernnde8657 could argue the stealth mechanics is crap though, it plays just the same as any other game with a stealth system, or like assassins creed. wich is also why i never go stealth in a game, couse it just feels like your playing assassins creed then. overall, i loved this game, i really havent had this much fun in an open world game since the witcher 3, and i finished it 100%, something i extremely rarely do and only do with games i really really like, so its among one of my alltime favourites tbh.
It’s an amazing game. I finished the game yesterday, and i just finished all the mythic tales, next im going to do now is the sidemissions. Edit: the digital pre-order released earlier here in the Philippines around an entire day earlier than there in the US which is why i already finished it.
The best thing I love about this game isn't combat or gameplay at all (kind of). The musical transition when you exit the forest for the first time alone on your horse. That build up was emotional. You could feel it. I felt like the game was saying, "And the rest is now up to you." Beautifully composed.
i don't like the way youtuber didn't bother doing side quest they just speed running it and how they say the really enjoy it you doing the story that it doing side quest explore the land or something play the flute and relax this game is my GOTY
Fun fact there’s a charm that lets the wind chime release poison when an enemy picks it up, giving you another poison weapon that doubles as a distraction tool.
That’s what I said about Days Gone! Played through that game 4 times! Just started ghost of Tsushima last night. Reminds me of red dead redemption 2, days gone, TLOU2 and far cry5 all rolled into one!! Love it so far!
You can actually change the in-game weather by playing the flute! The default one is to make it clear but getting more "songs" by collecting more crickets gives you more weather options. Pretty cool 😁
@Handsome Nigward i forgot the exact story or myth, but the japanese, if my memory serves me right, believed they could conjure up storms..... its y japan was such a fierce military force, cuz it was nearly impossible to go to japan if they didn't want u there, the storms would tear boats apart and drown their enemies..... this also goes back to celtic mythology, rune sayers or i forgot their name, basically like the native americans also, rain dance, rune sayers were able to change the weather using runes.... anyway, the japanese used weather in their wars, is my point.... and they believed the gods or whatever protected them when others tried to invade them, with weather.... i mean think about it, if ur a warrior/assassin, and u can change the weather?..... if i was the enemy i would just walk away, or run lol
@Handsome Nigward i noticed one thing, that i wish they did also, eating snow... y u ask? cuz when u eat snow its stops the mist when u breath out..... figured that out watching samurai x ovas, a ninja kept eating snow during a fight, cuz he kept disappearing, and before he would attack, he would eat a mouth full of snow so kenshin couldn't see his breath..... i noticed in this gaem u can see ur breath, would be nice if bad guys would notice it, and u had to eat snow to prevent it.
Agreed , I can't wait for a day off work so I can actually get into the game. I've only got like 2 hours in but this is amazing , I really love the attention to detail
It is a great game. I will buy it only if it has replay value tho. I like playing my games 5-30 times like witcher 3, rdr2, skyrim, dark souls games etc.
2:49 Leaders are either isolated or surrounded by enemies... what the hell other option would there be? They end up in the clouds doing levitation spells and shit?
After playing for several hours I didn’t even realize there’s more than just the part of the island you start on. The map is a lot bigger than I thought, and it reminds me of leaving White Orchard for the 1st time in Witcher 3.
Yup patient is the key I play on the hardest difficulty it was challenging at first but when upgraded all my armory I got too op for my enemies now they run away from me I became a legendary samurai 🔥
One of the biggest thing the game doesn't tell you is that Jumping + Triangle will very briefly break an ennemy's guard. They never tell you but it's very useful against Shields in the beginning when you only have 1 Stance unlocked.
Do people not know this? You can also one shot brutes. If I'm getting overwhelmed by multiple enemies and a Brute I usually just pop him off and a couple others real quick. The bow in this game is more satisfying than the one in Horizon Zero Dawn just saying lol.
Home with the rona, been binging this game. Tip for everyone, in the north west region of the opening region, there's a shrine that gives a charm that makes all parries and dodges much easier. Also, when you liberate an area, it fully maps the region, showing you any hidden locations you may have missed. Loving this game, and I hope the rest of you are enjoying it as well!
Welcome to RU-vid. Click-bait is a thing. This channel doesn't even scratch the surface of the most blatant and belligerent offenders. Use your soap-box more effectively.
The mission when you get the bow ABSOLUTELY explains that the archers yell before shooting and also that they’re doing so in order to tell their allies to duck so.......not something that really belongs on a list like this
Another thing to consider is unlocking the Guided Winds to increase your Heath and Resolve ASAP. It’s only two technique points with immediate benefits, plus it’ll help open up the map while you’re soaking and chopping bamboo. The Inari one is good for opening up your charm slots quickly, but Health & Resolve are key to this game.
@@otakuthegreat Played both games (still didnt finish Ghost of Tsushima), still had a better time with LOU2. Ghost of Tsushima is a great game, awesome graphics, just wish the clunky animations could follow up.
Marcus Harmon lmao I can’t wait for cyberpunk as cdpr are the best game company ever (imo), but I’ve heard that it’s releasing to late into the year for it to be game of the year this year. So 2021
Marcus Harmon 2077 is going to have the Anthem effect, everyone is hyping it up more than any game could live up to and when it comes out everybody is going to hate it.
Swiping left on the touchpad wipes your blade and sheathes it. Depending on fast you swipe will determine if jin flashes the blood off, or wipes it in his elbow
"The bird will take you to unmarked objective" Or you can wear the Travellers attire (increased map reveal to every armour, vibrates when near mongul artifacts, crickets, banners, and records, also has the guiding winds for each of those plus vanity items)
They need an optio. For those of us who don't have controllers with vibrating motors in them, I always remove them when I buy due to fatigue, so I cannot know when vibrating. Maybe a screen shake or a color change, or something added to the guiding winds to help us who have vibration turned off of inability to vibrate
I best tlou2 in a few days and went back to play a few levels. The resort is the best but yea one and done. Dunno why they didn't make it to be single stage to play over and over. But this Ninja game looks badass! To bad Walmart is about to close
Yes! The bowing feature! Just last night I was watching a RU-vidr’s letsplay and he came across a villager who bowed and that got me thinking: wouldn’t it be cool to be able to bow yourself? And sure enough that feature is part of the game!!! That’s awesome!
The first thing I tried when I discovered the bowing was if NPC will bow back if you bow first. AND THEY DO!!! I love all the little details in this game
The game does tell you to follow Golden Birds, also using the “respect” emote in front of some frog statues near shrines summons a bunch of frogs and that is the best thing in the game.
Dark Crow I if you bow to people in the cities they bow back. If you bow at some other interesting locations or certain burials leaves will circle you.the frogs one is one of many types.
There’s also a place on the beach (can’t remember specifically where) maybe near a pillar of honor where if you bow, crabs appear. There’s also a place I believe near a village with rice fields in front of this structure that looks like a shrine (but isn’t an actual one) that summons dragonflies if you bow to it.
I am just addicted to the sidequest in this game.. I havent really even started the main story.. Just grinding all other stuff... This game’s combat feels so nice rewarding for every group of enemy you cut down... Playing like a ghost is ok for me but the straight up combat is fun, even on low health its fun to take on a group of 4-5 and yes i am playing on hard and basically have all deflection and evasion techs with 3 stances with 2 upgrades in each with only 4-5 story mission played. Just love the map and exploration this game has to offer ❤️❤️, 10/10
Man, I’ve been a huge fan of this channel for years now and it’s my honor to contribute a little secret! You can attract enemies attention by whistling for your horse, I like to use this to be more honorable during sword fights so that I’m not just assassinating people from behind!
I prefer to do all side quests available, so I’ll be stronger for main quests. Also because when I finish the main story I “wrap up” the game. When I end the campaign, I don’t want to spend a lot of time in the game (because the most important thing-the story has ended). So I do the side quests first. Makes me slightly over leveled, but I also meet more characters. Sensei Ishikawa, Lady Masako and Kengi’s stories are awesome. It’s a nice detail to have continuous missions with the same characters. An amazing story arch.
Climbing to the top of the Monkey Sanctuary in Iki Island gives a great perk bonus, but it is challenging! Some players I think would give up trying to complete it.
Falcon, thank you for mentioning the accessibility menu, and for all the tips. I am visually impaired and will take all the help I can get to be able to play a cool game.
Yeah I felt the same way about Jake's before you buy too, I just wrote a comment about this lol. There are some important details he left out and after watching this the game seems even better.
@ayaan bazaz yeah, he sounded like he liked it a lot, but then diminished the stealth aspects of the game to the point of irrelevance. Doesn't matter anymore, I bought it.
Bro buy it, it is not perfect. But the feel of the witcher 3 is there man. Just buy it it is so good. I am disappointed how gameranx made the videos like these i think it's because they did not get early access.
5:22 Dang I earlier watched the "before you buy" and I don't even remember Jake mentioning that there are not just different techniques but also a skill tree? Im pretty sure he never even showed this menu on the "before you buy" but maybe I wasn't playing attention. It's also nice to hear that there are more than just charms to use but you can upgrade weapons and armor too. Not to mention Jake didn't seem to be too enthusiastic about the hunting, I think at one point he said, "it's just there" or something along those lines but after watching this it seems the hunting in this game is pretty cool and you need some of the animal materials for upgrades which seems pretty important lol. I'm glad I watched this vid seems like there is more depth to the game then I initially thought!! Wish my PS4 wasn't broken..
It probably wasn't his type of game but I give him credit for upholding this channel's "code" of seeing the positives in every video game. Personal gripe from me: I think the stealth on hard difficulty is great. It seems to have been maybe balanced around it...
Th3_B1itz i think he just meant its just there as in its pretty general. Some animals dont drop anything and its not specific to the animal if they do drop something. Its just “material”
The game tells you everything, but it doesn't take your hand to tell you everything. Some of it comes from dialogues with randos NPC's, so actually talking to everyone is a thing to do, since otherwise you'll miss it. And i kinda like that the game doesn't really take your hand and you have to figure shit out by yourself.
Why, idk, but I extremely prefer your features on this channel. Finally discovering the beautiful game this is, and appreciate these super helpful tips that aren’t spoiling much of what the full experience of the game is evolving into. Thank you.
@@seb24789 I love Way of the Samurai 1 when it came on Ps2. I thought it's the best classic game with many repeating replays. The main default character is just so perfect as neutral. Some of the dialogues can be bit cheesy but it was what make the game fun. 2nd game was pretty interesting but it's a presequal to the first game. I got 3rd game but didn't play it yet. I played some of the ghost of tsushuma and it's awesome. Almost like AC: Odyssey that it's "Assassin's Creed: Shogun" XD It's still pretty tough to smooth the combat moves though but gotta practice more. 👍
I don't know if anyone else pointed this out (probably so, since this game is 2 years old), but the Traveller's outfit (the one with the really awesome cape) somehow summons a firefly that pulsates the closer you are to a collectible.
I never underatood the have time to play. Your watching this. You have time. Now of your like me and work 40 plus a week. It may take longer to beat it than most. But it can be done.
Because there is actually only one set of priorities that works for everybody regardless of circumstances. > I never understood That is correct. You don't understand.
Bows being powerful? There's a reason why the samurai started out as professional archers first. Swordsmanship was a secondary skill for much of their history.
I know this is an older video. But for anyone who hasn't found it. There IS actually a target lock mechanic. You have to turn it on in the gameplay section of the options.
I just played this game 2 days ago...yes I'm pretty late since it's from 3 years ago lol, but I knew about the charms, observe before killing the leader, combat tips (which was quite obvious AND they mentioned why they shout, and its obv even if they didnt cuz they SHOUT to warn their allies so they wont hit them trying to shoot you), the resolve too, they dont really need to mention it? it just shows you as you finish the stand off (and same thing for the end suffering), wind chime was actually mentioned in the game, for the bows I agree but always do a head shot, it's pretty easy to do that for the ones who have helmet just use a long bow and done, the birds one was actually mentioned in the game as well by talking to an npc and he says he wish he can follow the birds more, and once it lead him to a hot spring.
I really hope we get more games with this combat system. This feels like what sekiro should have been. I really hope there is more content coming for ghost. Or at least a ng+
I love this game how it lets you do side missions at any point you want even if your late game you could still do the starting missions for your companions and others
Speaking of combos in 2, a favorite combo of mine is the following: Heavy Attack (until stagger) > Heavenly Strike > Concentration Headshot on a frightened enemy It just feels so cinematic & smooth
7:00 there's a perk you can use that allows the 🛎 bell to reak poison. Once the person gets closer it will pop onto em and die. Its a useful tool when you need a few handfuls to get away to make a quick stealth chain onto someone or the mongo leader for quick points. I personally love it cause it gets the job done quicker and leaves my enemies clueless in matter of mins or less. Just gotta have patient's.
This game is one camera lock short of being my perfect game. Love samurai, love the combat, fantastic story, visuals, characters, audio, I just cannot get used to the need to dodge attacks that are out of my camera's view.
Yea I can see your point. To me it’s only truly annoying if something gets in the way of your camera but that’s rare and haven’t had that fighting yet. I can see why people want a lock on for fighting though. In some ways that makes games kinda silly. This is kinda more scary without it. Could just be an oversight but the combat is super fun either way.
I had this issue too but now I try to get into an open space for a fight . Kinda like an adapt to the situation scenario. Now I haven't had any issues with that
So far for me it’s a great game from the start. I won’t try anything to OP as I’m digging the combat system. I think some targeting system would have been nice as at times my dude will just strike air and not autos face the enemy.
The level of discovery in this game is amazing. I remember free roaming and seeing the location talked about in number 9 but I was up at a higher level and it seemed like alot of work so I didn't go there....kinda regretting it now lol
Yeah that's the reason they give in game but that doesn't explain who they're yelling at when they're the last one standing or when there's no one near them.
This game is amazing in a visual and fun role playing way. I'm loving the story, just got into act 2. The first section of the map seems so huge and now that I'm in toyatomi I'm amazed at the detail of the landscape. Omi temple at night on a full moon is beautiful
