I'm pretty sure he commits ritual suicide if you spare him. He lost his "son", failed the Shogun and was dishonored by not being give a warriors death. It would make sense given how bond he his by the samurai code.

I know you've been pumping so much content and the walkthrough doesn't have that many views but please upload the walkthrough untuk the end. Your playstyle is very skillful and I'm quite sad seeing so many RU-vidrs pumping out full game walkthrough but played it in such a irritating way.

This entire game was the story of Jin's changing from proud samurai to pragmatic Ghost. By Sparing Lord Shimura, Jin was forsaking the last vestiges of his samurai honor. That's why he put on the mask out of nowhere in the Spare ending. His transformation was complete. He is now well and truly, the Ghost of Tsushima.

The Samurais knew they cannot win the 80 vs Mongols war, that was a suicide mission to die in a Samurai way, to fight honorably and dies. Jin accidentally survived and started fighting in non-Samurai ways for saving the people is betraying the Code of Samurai. My guess is: Shimura killing Jin or getting killed by Jin is the way to regain the honor of Shimura himself, either killed the dishonored or died trying. If Jin chose to kill Shimura, Jin is still trapped by the Code of Samurai which he abandoned to become the Ghost to save the people. If Jin spared him, Jin knows what he is conscientious for what he is doing and decided to spare his only family. So Shimura knows the Samurai way cannot save anyone in Tsushima and he is glad that Jin fighting in dishonorable ways not because getting driven by hate but the need to save Tsushima. Just my theory.

I do not really see it that way, I choosed to kill Shimura out of respect, because sparing him will let me to believe that he will hate Jin the next time him and Shimura will cross path again, and death will result either way. Shimura seeing Jin as the Ghost is like watching a monster and Jin doesn't want him to see him that way, so it's better to kill him knowing that Shimura loves him and that he has some kind of honor.

the thing that i just cant get past is how can the master realizing that the only reason they are still alive is because of Jin, now blames him? there would have been nothing left to honor if he had not done what he had done.

Because Jin, the Ghost, is a political threat. His very presence threatens the system the Samurai and Shogunate is built on. He threatens their prestige and political power. So the Shogun orders Shimura to kill him. Shimura is, in many ways, the ideal samurai; this means that, above all else, he is loyal to his master (the Shogun) and will carry out his orders regardless of his personal feelings. From the viewpoint of Shimura, it would have been better if all of Tsushima had died with their honor intact rather than his nephew sacrificing his honor.

After my playthrough of the game I've noticed something odd the poison plot doesn't make that much sense when you really look at it. I do have some theories that could shine some light on what actually happened.

If you look closely at the poison plot none of it makes a lick of sense if we are going with the logic that when the Mongolians were poisoned how could they recreate Jin's poison if they all roughly drank at the same time and killed over if you ask me Jin was betrayed by somebody

@@iceumdarby3994 That's a good point. If I had to guess I'd say that they figured it out. You spend a few weeks imprisoned, and it's not hard to believe that rumours would rise. Ultimately, this isn't the first time you use poison, since your are given darts before the siege. I believe that finding death soldiers with symptoms of the poison and the events at castle shimura would make the mongols investigate it, and eventually figure it out. What doesn't make any sense in the slightest is how jin is pretty much invulnerable to the poison. He gets poisoned quite a few times but nothing ever happens to him. Plot armour at it's finest

It’s the Ronin outfit Ryuzo gives you. Whatever dye you have for it determines what Jin wears in this sequence.

No he doesn't. Interacting with the suit of armour in the epilogue (after the choices is done), has Jin say different lines depending on the ending. In the spare ending, he says, "I hope you find peace, Uncle." In the kill ending, he says, "I wish you were here, Uncle."

It's not explicitly stated that he is dead (or alive), and the voiceline definitely seems to point to that. It's a bit vague, but most likely he is alive.

The background in a period of a game [ history ] is inaccurate. For example. Armor and a costume of the Japanese soldier who appears in this game are the one in the second half of the 16th century, not a thing in the second half of the 13th century.

yeah, though things like that are on purpose another thing that didn't exist yet was the haiku, yet it can be done in the game watched some director commentary, and the focus was more on building the ideal samurai fantasy and making it look and feel cool rather than being totally accurate

There was no Ninja or Shinobi back then, what Jin did was extremely unorthodox and considered extremely dishonorable in those days. Also, the shogun wouldnt want someone to have their own army as it is a threat to shogun's reign as the sole centralized military force.

Then when they conquered the Mongols that killed and tortured his ppl, they turned the ghost into a traitor, the very person, that made all this possible. It's that clearer for you??
