@@varadrakshe8781 In 1279 the mongols set sail to conquer Japan, the first Island they landed on was Tshushima, which they did totally owned, then they set sail for the mainland but two huge whirlpools came and destroyed their ships, this guy is making fun of this occurence but he said tornado, information he got from this funny vid called history of japan, but that was wrong and also kind of retarted because think about it, you ever hear of a tornado in the ocean, ya its called a tsunami, or a hurricane. A cool fact: The Japanese refered to these whirlpools as Kamikazi, or righteous wind, Kamikzi's where also the name given to Japanese fighter pilots who suicide crshed into american boats in ww2

As a Mongolian myself, it is really funny that the soldiers are speaking modern Mongolian perfectly. They are shouting, "Cut his head", "Let's catch him, yes, let's do it" etc.
Ah, I've always wondered how the Mongolian in this game sounds. I heard the Japanese dub uses archaic Japanese words to really sell the atmosphere of old timey and stuff. Hearing that the Mongolian heard in the game is just in modern speech is a bit disappointing but it makes sense. I don't suppose we have much records regarding Old Mongolian language, and modern speech is the best we have. Thanks for sharing!
I feel in love with this line and is the reason I am watching this videos. I know I’m 5 months late but mind telling me where this quote is from? Lethal? I’ll google it
@@stephenvargas5806 I had the opposite. I got tired of him and his minions so I decided to rush him with the fire sword. Then when mine went out he lit his. So I lit mine again and finished him off.
@@sergelengerelmaa2450 you could go to any museum featuring Northern or Southern Song dynasty armour and say the same thing. Remember that before Mongolia invaded Japan, they took nearly a hundred years to conquer China. In that time they adopted Chinese technology ranging from siege engines to armor. The Khan's weapon is also distinctly Chinese. The Cresent Blade Guandao
Anyone else notice how Khotun's expression seems to mildly shift after we cut to his face from Jin? Like he's staring him down now, seeing the unflinching face of this stone-cold killer, and actually seems to doubt his chances for a moment, and realizing making this man an enemy was the BIGGEST mistake of the invasion? It's subtle, but probably the most telling look on his face for the whole game.
yeah,he looks like he is slowly understanding that messing with jin,was a mistake, and i love how jin looks him dead in the eye, like a hunter looking at his prey
"The guy who single handed cut down hundreds, if not thousands of my men, including dozens of my best officers, is right in front of me. I might be in trouble."
Kumarinko I wiped through the final boss. I only lost to him once or twice because he was slow as hell so it was opposite for me and I beat it on hard.
I like how Jin sees the cup in the Khans hands and starts walking to the side and not straight at him probably remembering how the first samurai was sprayed and burned. The Khan smirks and turns around to put the cup down realizing Jin is not falling for it
@@crysisretard6535 he means storywise. he killed so many and showed no remorse or mercy to anyone and i was really scared of the last fight against him because i shit my pants everytime i saw him in a cutscene i thought jin would die in his last fight against him. but the fight was pretty lame i wish he would have more hp and stronger weapons like one hit weapons that would kill you instantly for example poison on his sword or something i dont know
I love the fact that this isn't an honourable duel. Khotun Khan has made it very clear he doesn't care about honour, so of course, he's going to use poison and group tactics against Jin.
I was thinking we'd have to defeat him the way Ben Stiller did, give him a hug and help him work through his childhood abandonment issues. Jokes aside, great performance by Patrick Gallagher.
Nah. They could've continue fight at the shore and in the end, he would let Khan go escape with his boat. Later, Jin will go back to his home playing shamisen..
In a way, he wasn’t the antagonist. Just the inciting incident for the conflict between the protagonist and the true antagonist, which would be Shimura.
The shogun isn’t even there, he can’t qualify as the antagonist. Also his orders are merely an incentive for something Shimura would’ve done even without them, because he’s genuinely loyal to the feudal system he’s a part of. Shimura does believe that Jin is the enemy. So that definitely makes him the main antagonist here. The shogun may become one in a future installment, but for now he’s just a greater scope villain.
@@rickblaine9670 Think of it like this, in 1984 the Party is the Antagonist yet the whole point is they can’t be detected or distinguished; we never physically see them really. Also Shimura loves Jin yet is set in his ways of being a loyal servant to the Shogun, so Shimura is ignorant to the lies the Shogun feeds him. Both are the antagonist but Shimura serves as the physical embodiment of the Shogun
@@Des7p I think he just mean this because his grandpa is Dschingis Khan One of the greatest conqueres. When it was comedy Show he would probebly say "useles Boy in my day I killde People like him before breakfast. Go in the courner and Shame on you."
After dealing the final blow to him, my mind immediately went "This is for Taka." I beat the games a few days and my god it was satisfying to finally get revenge on for all the shit he put Jin through.
I was thinking "this is for Taka, Ruyzo, and everyone else your war has taken away. let's be honest if the Kahn doesn't put a bounty on Jins head. Ruyzo would have joined Jin.
The thing about Mongol warrior were , they did not cared if it was cowardly to fall back from battles. Either it was a necessity or a tactic to take their opponents down. And i think that’s exactly what Khotun Khan did on the beginning half of the fight.
@@anggakarapreviandana2877 actually it's wasn't just the divine winds or the kamikaze.....they lost some key battles to the samurai too......a combination of both led to their defeat
i had the ‘mask on during cutscene’ setting on with the Ghost mask, and it made the scene x10 more bad ass. (Considering Yuna finds it after the battle)
Its insane how good the Samurai Clan armor is on this fight, with Resolve gain charms on top of it..I literally couldnt die being 1 hit away as long as i was getting resolve on each hit or 2
@@tempest_noir9058 I mean i literally couldnt die being 1 hit away from death..everytime i got brought down to 1 hit away id always have enough resolve to heal back up. As long as youre spending the resolve you get or avoiding damage you literally cant die I found..All while dishing damage too cuz itll give u resolve also when u get those quick moments of dialogue at certain points of the duel
-We will be rememberd -No. Well to this day they are regarded as one of the most successful, powerful and intelligent military/war tacticians. Sorry Jin :)
Yes but Khotun khan is a fictional character...the mongols are an entire empire that had the largest continuous land area, so of course they’re going to be remembered. Khotun khan isn’t even real to begin with
@@khldwb1425 He is basically Kublai Khan, they just renamed, otherwise historians would be all in this game telling what's historically accurate and not.
General Zubbis bruh you can hear him say kublai khan is my cousin...he’s a fictional character that’s it. If there’s a ghost of Tsushima 2, kublai would most likely be the antagonist, but no, Khotun khan is the cousin of kublai khan in the game. The collectibles in the game also show that when Khotun invades japan, he plans to overthrow his cousin kublai khan and takeover as the grand khan. Play the game and collect the records to get the full story and some lore
I agree, completely killed the imersion for me, I mean cmon this one kill is basically the point of the entire game, would it really have been that much more work making sure the cloth doesnt phase through his body?
He was a vassal of Kublai Khan. Although Kotun was a Khan himself but he and his tribe was conquered and instituted into the khanate that Kublai ruled. Remember: Not all Mongols were united. Not even under Ghengis Khan. There were some that did not want the unification.
Jin could start his own Shinobi clan that works from the shadows but is hated by the shogun and most samurai. You play as Jin in the second game as he establishes his Shinobi clan and fights against the mongol invasion because I’m not ready to play as someone else yet
Man I so want Sucker Punch to make a new game where we play as the Mongols. They're armours, weapons, looks are so badass in GoT. I want a game where I can look like the Mongol Commanders and where I can dual wield swords or be a brute with a giant shield and sword.
Who else expected a warning before the final mission started like when you took castle shimura and when into this war armed with a katana and no ammo??
@@SealofApprovalTWU Well to be fair, Japanese culture is just different compared to western. And if you have played quite a lot of Japanese games you will notice the subtle differences that the game is bound to have when the bosses(defining developers) are western. And offcourse, "made by Japanese developers" games also have their notorious "problems" like overly re-used bosses, manual save points, or some unusually hilarious gestures.
Have nothing but respect for Japan. Would love to visit one day. Ofcourse now might have subsided a bit in modern times, but their warrior spirit is admirable.
Notice how even tho Jin won the duel, He fought as a samurai and was about to end him as a Samurai and failed and then He fought him as the ghost and won? Showing us that Jin from the start had to chance in order to defeat the Khan and his army
Idk, man. Even the way they speak is cringy as fuck. I hear some dialogue by actual mongolians here and there but it's like nothing an actual person would say.
Because the mongols invaded China and adapted their culture into their own so like chinas old fortresses, weapons, clothing, martial arts, etc. were used by the mongols
@@SleepyMook I feel that Jin is pretty young, and we got a lot of story to tell from him, also I really liked Yuna it would be great to see what they can build together
An. S. The sequel could have parts where we travel back in time to see what Jin and Yuna have been up to along with the rest of the cast from the first game.
Literally all i want now, is a mode where you can simply just oneshot enemies nonmatter what. That would TRULY make me feel like the most powerful Samurai in the Land.
D L actually it is pretty fun to fight a boss with some minions there that will make their effort to protect the khan, shame they r no match for Jin Sakai :v
That Khotun Khan boss fight was confusing as hell to me. Here I thought it was going to be a one on one duel and the next thing I knew was a whole bunch of Mongals appeared in a constant seemingly never-ending stream and I wasn't sure what to do or where exactly Khotun Khan was, if I had to go to another location within the building or what. I didn't realise he was among the bunch of them. I just kept slashing and running repeatedly trying to slim down the amount of enemies as much as possible. But it seemed they kept appearing more and more out from the building. It took a couple tries well but I kept at it and eventually realised I was now facing off against Khotun. He was tough as hell though. It was a relief to see him finally stagger and go into the kill mode to finish him. That is one fight I didn't want to have to re-do again.
It was quite satisfying to defeat the main villain in a badass way, so many times you reach the end of a story (game or movie) and think ‘finally, now we get to beat this Sownabitch!’ And then they get taken out by a burning log or something before you finish them. You know, so your conscious is clear...despite the fact we’ve slashed hundreds of goons for the entire game like they were made of cheese. It’s like ‘We know, killing is bad’ ya know. When you present us with Mongolian Hitler I think we’ve got a warrant to not feel bad about it ok? Anyway gg Ghosts of Tsushima, I didn’t feel cheated at the end.
Something I didn't notice until now was that when at first, Khotun was facing Jin at the direction of the doors you go through before this cutscene, he turns around while speaking to him and looks at the poison he picked up, while heading to the ship. However, blocking his path to the ship, Jin is suddenly there at the archway leading to the ship, forcing Khotun to stop, not expecting him to be there. Man pulled a Batman on this dude.
I used the Clan Armour for the majority of the first Act, then the Sakai Armour for the Second Act, and then Kensei for the third Act, it just seemed fitting, since he was no longer samurai at that point. Plus, it looked warm.
Was doing my second play through since it came out. Cool how you can play this game in any order and it feels like a different experience altogether. I had a lot of fun. My go-to look is the fully upgraded Sakai armor painted in jet black, with the betrayer's hat, and the Sakai chin guard. Gives Jin that "medieval samurai batman" look. Although, I forgot how annoying the AI is for this fight. I understand that the main bad guy has to be challenging- that's not my gripe. But this is just one of those "ignore the laws of physics" kind of AIs. I'll finesse my way behind him, and he doesn't even physically turn around to face me, he just blips in my direction with his spear out. He mortal kombat juggles with combos. I can't tell if he's moon, or spear, or shield stance. It doesn't matter how far away you roll when he sweeps with that weapon staff thing. He catches up because the AI slides towards you without even taking steps- kinda like that exploit with E Honda's hundred hand slap in street fighter II, where you can move forward as youre doing the hundred hand slap. It's like a woodchipper moving in your direction. I love this game and can't wait for the sequel. One thing I wish to see in the next game is something I wish I could have seen in this one- dynamic boss battles with dynamic cinematic level situations.
This scene gave me nightmares and how he ripped takas head off and its dangling in his hand and the blood on his mouth and how he got to the centre of the throath is the scariest thing ive ever seen and after 1 and a half years later this still scares me to the very core. Thank you for reading this.
