Hey everybody!! Welcome to an all new build series here at Payne-ted Plastic. For this build we will be modifying a Spengler's Neutrona Wand from Hasbro. This is a prop replica/role play item hasbro released in their Plasma Series in connection with the new movie Ghostbusters Afterlife. The toy is really pretty fun as is with great lights & sound effects from the movie, but I want to modify it to look more like the wand from the original 1984 Ghostbusters.
In this episode we will remove the original grips & get the wand ready for it's new 3d printed grips. The removal of the grips is pretty straight forward, but it does take a little patience. The rear grip is by far the easier grip to remove. It only has a few screws holding it in place. The front grip is a bit more challenging because the entire section is all molded together. I start by using my rotary tool to cut away the majority of the grip, then I switch to my plastic nippers to remove the remaining bits.
The 3d printed grips i will be using came from a great etsy seller...

The prints are very nearly perfect for this project. The size is spot on & they only require a little sanding to be ready for paint. If you want to modify your Spengler's Neutrona Wand check out this esty seller's product, you won't be disappointed.
