FACTS

It's easy to forget that the actors don't get to see the final product until roughly the same time as us - the editing and SFX don't happen until long after they "clock out" and their part of the production is finished. Their reactions to seeing the fruits of their hard work for the first time like this is extra special for that reason.

Those are the kid/young actors movies need. The humble, dedicated and excited for their project. Many movies try new actors but put them above Classic actors or they feel they are above them. But no, this is the way, they have to win it and built them little by little.

McKenna is not one of us(repeats "one of us" chant 3 times over🤭), she is on an geek level because she is in many fan loved i.p's.

Sorry Bro, but no one in Hollywood is one of us. Not that it matters as long as the movie is good.

Jason Reitman required that everyone involved with this be a fan of the original movie. He wanted to be sure that everybody cared about it doing justice to the spirit of the first film.

Between the wardrobe/makeup and her amazing acting, I'm still having a hard time connecting the actor with the character lol. After seeing the kids at the NYCC panel, I'm greatly looking forward to seeing all of them in more projects.

She's also the young Emma Swan from Once upon a time, she appeared in the independance day sequel, and then her most known movie (as a child) gifted, with Chris Evans

@@Dargonhuman Well yeah. They film and the only thing they see is a guy holding up a stick with a picture of Slimer on it. No music. No sound effects. No CGI. They know they're parts of the movie and the main of the story but to see it all put together is entirely something else and having been a part of that, makes it all the much more special for her to see her efforts on the big screen. We all knew she was going to be a huge star cause she's so adorable. Now that she's acted in a Ghostbusters movie, she'll forever be a part of Pop Culture history of successful child stars along with Drew Barrymore, Emma Watson and the lil Angel we lost way too soon, Heather O'rourke

And THAT is the kind of respect 2016 didn't have for us or the film.

Literally the dream of every kid who loves something lol. I love how she (and the rest of the kids too) seems to be genuinely excited and grateful to be a part of this movie. They recognize what a privilege and honor it is and so far have been very respectful and mindful of the fans and the opportunity.

100% correct, anyone asking why she's acting like she's just seeing it for the first time it's because she is seeing it for the first time. She may not even have been around when some scenes were filmed or when certain "classic GB" actors had their parts filmed.

Only the editors see the entire finished product first.

Basically every actor in any movie only gets to see this film for the first time (and with context) during the premiere. Same with Dubbing Actors. The only ones seeing it before the premiere are the director, the editor, the producer and the studio execs.

Exactly right. It's easy to forget that the actors have already finished their part of the production and "clocked out" long before the final editing and effects are added because they're so closely associated with the project.

I don't blame Melissa McCarthy or any of the amazingly funny actors in that movie. I think even Adam Sandler himself he could of done it with his guys. It was just a poorly written and put together movie.

I've been watching a lot of BTS content related to the movie, and it's very clear everyone involved are fans and this was a passion project for all of them. Adam Savage's Tested channel has been showing how much love the cast and crew have for the originals, and that's giving a lot of us hope that it will be a good movie that's actually worthy to be called Ghostbusters.

Exactly! That's what it's all about. Those of us, who saw the first one IN THEATERS, not in our living rooms. There are some younger folks that get it, but too many, it just goes over their heads.

@@paulzammataro7185 honestly, that was my biggest smile, when I checked IMDB and saw him listed. I also love that his character is a doctor. Hudson is so insanely wonderful in everything he does. Short of bringing Ramis back from the dead, the was my favourite surprise.

I hate going to theaters (to be fair, I hated that long before the pandemic) but this one I actually want to make the effort to go see. The best part is I usually have Sunday and Mondays off so there shouldn't be too many people when I go.

I did love that bit and it's really cool that they upgraded their tech even after people stopped seeing ghosts. It's just I can't help but think how amazing that moment would have been had we seen it for the first time in the movie. In the international trailer they show how the chair first gets activated and it looks like they hit the switch by accident the first time. I think in the movie they want it to play as a cool reveal to the audience. It'll still be good but I think it would've been a nice surprise.

Also Spider-Man 2. Adding more character depth than the original, making the whole universe feel more real and making the villains into a darker threat.

Or it's just marketing and it's not a real reaction. She already knows what happens in the movie. There's no reason for her to be surprised at anything in the trailer.

I've hated going to the theater long before the pandemic but I'm so hyped for this movie that I'm actually making plans to go see it on my first day off after the release, which is perfect timing as that would be the 21st and the day after I get paid lol.

This isn't her channel. It's just a Ghostbusters channel so she won't see this. I don't think it's so much secrecy as making movies is nothing like watching movies. That scene in Ecto-1 for example there was probably a lot of green screen because they won't let a kid sit in a chair hanging out the side of a speeding car. The director is probably off to the side shouting into a megaphone saying "OK you see the ghost. Fire the proton pack. OK you got the ghost. Drop the trap." etc. So she'd have no idea what the finished product looks like because once the actors are done they don't see the film till the premiere. Films are also almost always filmed out of order so only the director really knows what's happening. Trying to figure it out from what you shot would be impossible. John Malkovich was talking about filming Con Air and he told an interviewer that he had no idea what his character was like, what the movie was about or what scenes he was in. That's an extreme example but it goes to show that even long established actors sometimes have no idea what's going on.

@ren bao finn from the star wars sequel trilogy. He was a huge star wars fan. Too bad the movies were a flop. It was his dream to be in a star wars movie, but unfortunately his character wasn't that great.

Or the same way others who knew the parent would refer to them as well. I think deep down we all wished Egon & Janine got hitched but something makes me think they didn't, I don't think she would have left New York. Guess we'll have to wait and see. ;)
