@@ssppeeaarr Murray never prevented any GB sequel from happening. The scripts weren't ready and Harold was bullish on quality control. That's why when he died the vultures moved in to make the reboot, and then After life, which he never would have signed off on.

oh wow ok i never heard of this before. so did murray himself say all this tho...??! what i remember is harold or dan tweaked the script for gb3 in hell or idk what other names it had. it seem really cool... and murray said he would only be on if his character was unalived early on or something. been ages since i read up on all that sad drama. but its cool if murray was always on board with making a ghostbuster 3. a true ghostbuster 3. guess we got that in the video game tho. @@Ben-pd2bx

There is practical effects in the movie. In face Jason Reitman has been an advocator for practical effects where ever possible.

That's too harsh. There is a story to tell here and as Murray said no one wants to see a bunch of old men running around busting ghosts. It needs a new generation to carry the torch. I'm glad both are there.

@@Ben-pd2bx In a sense this is what Venkman originally envisioned as far as "franchising" I suppose. Also I can see why they'd take up the mantle since it's actually Egon's family anyway. My guess is that Winston is actually the one running the business and they're all just working for him. I get what you're saying about wanting more prominent roles for the original cast though. I personally wanted a Ghostbusters movie that used a villain from The Real Ghostbusters but supposedly this is at least heavily inspired by the show.
