I remember the Slimer Toothpaste, it was super green and I thought it tasted weird, but I felt like a true ghostbuster while brushing.

I used to use Turbo on the NES Advantage to race up the stairs quickly lol.. Ghostbusters in all it’s forms...movies, cartoon show, etc...WAS my childhood! Still love it 🙂

Oh, I'm glad you showed this. I'm familiar with the Sega Master System version of this game. Many people would still hate that version, but it had a more . . . game-like final challenge (such as allowing the ghostbusters to shoot at the ghosts when going from floor to floor).😊👻

My all-time favorite movie; the NES game? Not so much. I must say, you made that look so easy. Very well done, Erin, and it totally sets the mood for October.

In the show they have a car known as ghost buggy at ghost command which is a vintage Ford model T.

slimer toothpaste was good but do you remember Hardees having a Slimer Hot Fudge Sundae??? it was a regular hot fudge sundae but the chocolate topping was bright green :) also there was a time when you could buy Ghostbusters cereal and inside was a record...yes a record to play on a record player lol and it had the guy who did egon's voice on the cartoon telling you to go see ghostbusters 2 in theatres and also how you could win a contest! :) Laurence Lemanche i believe is his name.

My favorite Ghostbusters game is the Sega Genesis version. I highly recommend that you check it out. The level design, weapons for busting ghosts, and music are great. Also, the characters have really big heads. My only gripe is that the Genesis version leaves out Winston. What's weirder is that it's supposed to be after the events of Ghostbusters 2.

Erin, if you're playing on a NES you may want to find a controller with turbo for games like these or for farming items. Way easier on your thumbs to just hold it down rather than press it over and over. You don't even have to tell us, just plug it in off-screen.

the motel i worked at was only two stories, but both floors were missing their 13th room (113 and 213). it is weird, but that is definitely a thing.

I don't even remember getting items when I beat this. And the stairway part is so unnecessary. That part was a joke in the movie, they showed like, two scenes of the ghostbusters going up the empire state building.

I used to live on the 13th floor of an apartment building, which was numbered as 14. Oh yeah; 11, 12, 14, 15... I didn't even realise that shit until about a week after I moved in! Heh heh, "ghost pie" 😝!

I gave this a shot on a friend's NES probably ten years back knowing full well what to expect and lasted about ten minutes. Great job on actually beating such a famous video game turd!

A lot of east Asian countries won't list a 4th floor due to the pronunciation sounding like their word for death.

Your run through was quite a bit better than James/AVGN's if only because you were happy at beating this beast, regardless of how asinine it was designed. Good on you!

I seen the show of Ghostbusters and the movie sequel answer the call the first movie has the ecto 1 based on the Eldorado classic car in answer the call they have next ecto 1 based on the classic deville one of the Cadillac brands built in general motors let go Ghostbusters.😎👻

I was a big fan of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, it came on after school. I had a black Ghostbusters logo shirt and I still have the soundtrack on vinyl. Also remember all the toys and figures when they showed up new at Bradlees. The days when kids actually played with toys and action figures. Jim

I never saw the movies at the time and the cartoon series was too scary for me (I was a wimp) but I did have Ecto Cooler. You didn't miss much.

There is the other Ghostbusters movie called afterlife coming in 2021with the ecto 1 classic.

I played the Commodore 64 version all the time when I was a kid! I still think its the best one. I did manage to pick up the SEGA Master System version which I have been holding out on to do a video! perhaps October would be a good time to do so!! :-)

I don't think I've ever heard of the overflow glitch in this game, though I don't know enough about the ghost behind the door to understand how this one works. The way an overflow glitch usually works is that you're supposed to hit zero, but you skip over it, which takes it around to the other side. It can go both ways, too; there's an overflow glitch in Final Fantasy 7, where you can increase your attack power with a certain weapon in such a way that you can instantly kill anything, because it does so much damage.

The only thing that could make that game worse is the Ghosts and Goblins "this room is an illusion...". Props, I have to stick to Ghostbusters 2.

if you have already done so then i apologize but you should play Ghostbusters 2 on nes and NEW ghostbusters 2 on Gameboy :) also The Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street Games on NES would be a fun video lol i have fond memories of them even though most people hate them, then again i am kind of biased since my entire youtube channel is me turning Freddy, jason and Michael books into audiobooks :) so anything jason and freddy related i enjoy.....for the most part :)

I actually played the Sega Master System version of the game before playing the NES version, and it's much better to play on the former due to it having better-looking graphics and gameplay with an even catchier 8-bit version of the "Ghostbusters" theme song.

Wow I came into this thinking you would be suffering through the game. I fully did not expect to learn how to beat it... If only I could tell younger me how to do this it would save probably 50 bucks of rental fees.

What's your favorite part of the Ghostbusters movie? Mine's when they drive 100mph through the city, running over cans of gasoline on their way to Costco to pick up their Ghostbusting equipment.

Ghostbusters is my favorite movie ever and I had fond memories of this game, despite its terribleness. I never beat it tho so you are definitely a legit Ghostbuster now.

Now do the Sega Master System version. It's like 100 times better :-)

When my brother and I got the NES for Christmas, the pack-in game was Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, as you'd expect. But, the toy store where our stepdad got it for us threw in a copy of "GOZHBUZHTUR!!" for free with every NES purchase because the game was so bad, they couldn't sell them and they were tired of all the disgruntled customers who returned this "great game," so they figured that if they gave away the pre-owned copies of the game for free, they'd be able to liquidate their supply more easily. Sneaky, sneaky. Now, imagine for a minute, if you will, of being a kid and getting the hot, new game console and having a this game as one of the first games to play on it. This was literally my very first gaming experience back then because I loved all things Ghostbusters. The experience was so traumatizing for me at that age that I didn't even touch the actual pack-in game for about a week, assuming that it would be just as bad an experience as Ghostbusters was. Thank goodness I was wrong! Kudos to you for beating this game with that exploit in one go! My 6-year-old brain would have exploded if I could have seen it back then!
