It doesn't look good, it doesn't look awful. It looks like a movie. And I still have the original, so I'm not going complain like a moron, because I have the good sense to not care. My childhood isn't ruined, it's still intact.
I think people are being over dramatic here. The film isn't out yet and it's already being criticised. Not all reboots are bad. I say, at least give the film a chance and then judge it. Don't judge it by its trailer.
A Trailers job is to convince people to go watch... If it doesn't do it's job then whats the point of the trailer, might as well not show one because "You can't judge till you see it"...i'm not convinced, trailer looks bad so i will not see it.
Kimihito Kurusu True, but if people are going to criticise a film, it's fair to watch it. Sometimes a trailer can be good, but the film is bad and sometimes a film is good, but the trailer was bad. And judging a film by a trailer is like judging a book by it's cover. You go to a store and see a book, the cover won't catch your interest, but maybe the actual story will. Same deal with trailers. Besides, not everyone has to like the trailer or the film, I just think criticising the entire film based on 2-3 minutes of film is unnecessary.
Ok so i go to a book store, find a book with a cover i don't like, lets say i read the book and didn't like it...then what...my opinion no longer matters to the author because they got my money and i paid for something i didn't like, unless i got the book from a library. Paying for something and being free chances things. but anyways..i'm not saying the movie is gona be good or bad, in the end you voice with your wallet when watching in a theater, and once they get my money, my opinion of the movie isn't gona make a difference, Ya you gota spend money on the chance it will be good, but ill pass this time, ill watch once its on tv or something, its just a movie, not a big deal really.
Kimihito Kurusu Nothing in life is free. Sometimes you get your money's worth and sometimes you don't. That's life. The point I'm conveying here is that you shouldn't judge something until you experience it yourself. The cost has nothing to do with it. Yeah, it sucks you wasted your money, but that's the risk, isn't it? And you spend like what? $20 or so? It won't kill you. The company will gain money, but besides gaining profit from films or books or whatever, they also do it to entertain. And big whoop that you spend a couple of bucks on watching a film for maybe only one time, the company who made this film spent probably millions. So if the film's a flop, they're the one's who really lost. At least they'll get some of the money back if we pay to see it, even just once. I wasn't even saying people had to go to the cinema or buy the film to watch it. Like you said, you can wait till it's on TV. The point is, you shouldn't be saying a film is bad because the majority says it's bad or will be bad. Everyone is different and their opinion's differ too. While you think a film is bad, someone may enjoy it and films you think are good, other people may not think so.
***** No I don't. I'm just saying spending $20 won't kill you. I spend my money if I think it's worth it and sometimes it not and sometimes it is. The point is, I spent my money on my own free will. I'm not saying if you have money go ahead and spend it on the first thing you see. And why are people bringing money into this? I only commented on how people are judging a film before seeing it. People can either pay for the film or wait to see it for free on TV.
yeah, you know things are bad when a comedy does not make you laugh once... though, maybe we'll see a 3rd trailer with actual something funny in it? but then, sony will give away the whole story... time will tell us :)
at 2:00 I chuckled a little bit because I honestly thought the ghost was just gonna take off (fly away) when she said she was going to take off. Unfortunately it didn't.
At this point, I feel Christopher Nolan is the only one capable of saving the franchise. It would be his first comedy, action and dark style interesting movie. And he definitely can get Bill Murray for a proper sequel.
your full of bs if it was Dana and janine people still would have cried because some are sexist and some are entitled assholes who think that they know all and that there thing is better without giving the new one a chance
Cause the internet if full of assholes. same for the real world there an asshole around every corner. and i agree with ya ppl are judging a book by its cover.
I hear you on that I myself am looking forward to seeing this movie with the parts at 0:50 and at 1:55 and how they feature the stay puff marshmallow man who is a main creep from the ghostbusters way
I still think the movie will turn out better than the movie trailers, as Paul Feig's films usually do, and this could be one of them. Give this a chance and gave an open mind we still have 7 weeks left.
Agree, there are too many closed minded people and it's always cool to go with the majority.. I really hope this flick is good so every hater can eat their words :D
Ohhhhh, NOW Sony posts this trailer!!! Like the executives were saying 'Hey, let's have everyone else post this trailer first... Trick all the haters... Then officially post it and then it won't get so many dislikes!' WRONG! People still hate it
My childhood still exists because a film (series) didn't define my life. My sense of comedy and love for the originals and all the actors still exist. A cast of females doesn't make it feminist, and I'm happy to see this movie. Jaysus, why, why are people so offended and keep saying, "This is going to ruin my childhood!" If so, I wish you had a better childhood because I enjoyed tons of films and even if they remade them with a mostly female cast, I'd still have a great childhood and life.
...apparently Sonys strategy works: publish the trailer via affiliates, THEN on the own channel, let the thumbs-down accumulate somewhere else... Those channels who have published the 2nd trailer after its publisment, accumulated a thumbs-up to down-ratio from 1:5 and even higher... But on the Sony-Channel? It's kinda equal... Nicely done, Sony; you have proofen you can cheat. Now please proof that you can make good movies! Can this one, remake it , and make it BETTER.
watch the int. trailers, "brilliant engineer" is clearly digging "brilliant physicist"... (and of course, the female engineer has to be (would it be sexist to call her lesbian?) - because the "dumb female phd", "screaming streetsmart female black", and the "egoistic/selfish female writer" have not been stereotyped enough, the "female engineer has to be lesbian, too". - seriously, I don't know what SJWs are blaiming the critics for, the movie is far more misogynistic and sexistic than the worst YT-troll's opinion?!?)
Okay, i am sick and tired of people moaning and groaning over and over about this movie! Whether if it's bad or not, it's still gonna make a lot of money and more money means more Ghostbusters movies! And heck maybe the next movie will HAVE the original cast back so that people can shut up! I am a Ghostbusters fan and i am gonna see this movie, and nobody is going to stop me from doing so. There is no such thing as a perfect movie. I hope i am not the only person who supports this movie cause i do, and i wanna help this franchise grow for a new generation of fans so then they can see the original films. I just don't get the hate. I'm pretty sure all the hate is because it's a reboot and not a sequel to Ghostbusters 2. Let's be honest here, who here is gonna see the movie like me? Cause if we don't support it, then that means no more Ghostbusters. Would you want that to happen? Be honest here.
I'm okay with no more Ghostbusters and I loved the real Ghostbusters cartoon. I don't see remakes anymore but nothing against people that will enjoy the movie. it's a bunch of adults acting like children.
Why do you care if this film makes more money than you will ever see in your lifetime, and that is, if it flops!? Fans don't want to see a reboot / remake / or a sequel if it's going to be crap! Still can't figure out why non-fans would even care. Go watch the original and then come back once you figured out why everyone hates this soo much!
This is a troll trailer right? No one is trashing the Ghostbusters legacy like this... right? Guys?... Ow look that lady fell on her back cuz no one caught her, that's so funny for 5-year olds.
Okay; I gotta ask this... What kind of creature is that concert ghost supposed to be? The jersey devil? And why are people hating this? I thought people would enjoy the return of the ghostbusters!
Because it's not the ghostbusters people grew up with. They are trying to repackage it for the modern, younger audience, who maybe haven't seen the originals. People wanted the original cast back for a 3rd film. Instead they made the full cast female only. Nobody wanted this film. It's not even funny. Pretty sure the black woman is a man pretending to be a woman. Order 66.
My issues with this movie (even tho I don't dislike it) are -could use some more practical effects -instead Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones try different actresses like Emma Stone or Wanda Sykes -I know it's just a trailer but there could be some better humor
The only reason people are being negative towards this film is because other people do. This is literally peer pressure! Same thing happened to BvS. People no longer can have an opinion and have to follow what the loudest people say about a film. If you like a film, then just say so because there is no way this film deserves all the negativity it is getting. I honestly don't know how so many people want to see a film fail just so they can say they were a part of it. People's jobs are at stake here! Imagine if you worked on a film (and you thought it was amazing) and then everyone turned on you and made it have such a backlash, how would you feel? This amount of peer pressure, and wanting to be a part of taking down the film, is outrageous and people should rethink their actions because it has such an impact on the crew and cast.
+JohnTellEm no I just think this film looks funny and visually interesting. I'm not gonna let other people determine if I can or can't watch a film. Just because people are louder voicing their opinion, doesn't mean you should necessarily agree with it.
+JohnTellEm my point is that people will be negative towards the film because that is what is popular to do. It is like peer pressure to hate this film. I would rather people be honest about their opinion of the film and not follow the crowd. Also, the fact that people won't give the film a chance is upsetting as it may be like Xmen: Apocalypse and just have a bad trailer.
+DisneyFan I agree with you too a certain point, but having grown up with ghostbusters, this strafes to far from the original cast and jolly nature for my liking, and tis the reason I do not like the film. What I'm saying is that this doesn't deserve to me labeled as a ghostbusters movie, it's a stand-alone movie that has nothing to do with what ghostbusters was and should be, most people in my age group would agree that grew up with it, it has nothing to do with the genders of the characters.
I'm boycotting this film and every Paul Feig, Judd Apatow, Melissa McCarthy and Chris Hemsworth film coming out in the future, including Thor: Ragnarok.
Well, I like to dwell on the FACTS... 1. Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray approved of this film and LOVED IT! 2.The women in this cast are some of the MOST talented actors/writers and comedians in the world. 3. This is NOT supposed to be a horror film, it is a COMEDY for the whole family---Therefore the animation is right on target! 4.This is not Ghostbusters 3, this is a remake of the original...done in the same "Campy" style as the first. 5. Chris Hemsworth is in it--Need I say more? ;0) 6. The "Bigger Boat" line was from the movie "Jaws" and was funny as hell! (Maybe some of the millennials didn't have a clue... 7. The comments beneath me (literally) have no basis on fact--they do, however show a Misogynistic culture which usually can only be seen in third world countries! 8. I will be getting groups of men and women to go out and see this movie--I will also be buying lots and lots of merchandise associated with this movie!!! :0) On a final note--it is sad that so many have joined the witch hunt, personally I never do --"Lions never concern themselves with the thoughts of sheep"
Ok not gonna lie This one was better than the first one and the selfie one I found it funny but.... Sony what are you doing?? You HAD a great franchise and you're killing it
No. If people spend money to go and see this crap in theaters, then it will be profit for Sony Pictures to allow them to make even more PC driven bullshit.
Dn 3A i said give it a chance not go pay for a movie you dont want to see at the moment. when the time comes, watch it on netflix or whatever. just give it a chance is all im asking.
Give it a chance to do what? Irritate beyond belief? Looks like a turd, smells like a turd, sorry, but I don't need to eat the turd to determine it's a turd.
You Ghostbusters fans all refuse to acknowledge that it's your fault this film exist. You've been pressuring for so long wanting a new Ghostbusters film so bad that now when you finally got one , you don't appreciate it. What's done is done. And it's your fault.
Definitely not be seeing this one. This movie has to flop or else we'll never see the end of those pointless and unimaginative reboots/remakes, hope people will stick to their words and boycott this. Enough is enough Hollywood!
Every artist has a bad day, and will one day make that movie or video, write that book, cook that meal, design that video game, write that song, or paint that picture that fans and critics will eviscerate, but it's how the artist responds to that bad day that defines them, in the eyes of society. While the trailers for the Ghostbusters movie indicate that it will likely be a bad movie, it's how Paul and Company have responded to that criticism that has cemented the fact that I will not be seeing the movie. When the response to all criticism is stuff like "I hope you all find a friend like my Ben," and to essentially issue an ultimatum to the entire fan base: "see our movie, and love our movie, or you're all sexist," it doesn't make you look like an artist who truly believes they made a great movie, but more like that spoiled brat who takes advantage of someone's veteran status, money, position, etc. to always get what ever they want.
This should not be a movie. The original ghostbusters was fine the way it was, and now they are ruining the legacy of the ghostbusters. Now all the kids in the future will not even consider going to watch the ghostbusters after this. They shouldn't have even made an other ghostbusters movie let alone a ghostbusters that is a comedy.
This doesn't ruin the Ghostbusters. You're choosing to let if affect your view of the original GB's. Why would kids in the future not consider watching Ghostbusters after this? I can guarantee you that most kids under 16 have not seen the original Ghostbusters. I have multiple friends who are professors at Colleges and teach classes in the Theater/Film degree paths. I can safely tell you there are a large amount of kids between 18-22 who have not seen Ghostbusters. This is true and the new GB isn't even released yet. This will have zero effect on kids of the future. Films are timeless. Classics survive regardless of the times. Ghostbusters (1984) is one of those classics. So calm down. You understand that Ghostbusters (1984) is a COMEDY, right? Has always been the primary genre for that film. Again, if you want it to ruin the legacy, then so be it. However, most others won't. It can be it's own thing. Its not a sequel. Its not a prequel. Its not even set in the same Universe as the original. So just get over yourself. Does it look good? My OPINION is that it looks so-so. I will still see it because I want to. I will reserve final judgement at the end of the film after I see it. It it's bad, it's bad. If it's average, then it's average. Do I wish this would have been better? Absolutely. Do I think that if Akroyd had HIS sequel for the 3rd movie made that it would have been a home run? NO. I think there is a great chance, in an alternate universe where it got made that it actually turned out to be terrible --- and people would have bitched about that too. Good or bad, this doesn't ruin the legacy. The original film and the cultural phenonem still happened and continues on. It's true fan's job to not let silly things like disrupt that and continue on tradition as normal. Not let a new movie override it.
Just pissing off a bunch of people by using the Ghostbusters name. If this movie was named something else it might actually get a chance even though it looks like total crap.
I am sorry I saw the new trailer in the theater. Besides some bad effects and a bear trap for a ghost trap I actually thought it looked decent. I was against the original trailer thought it was horrible. This new one is even better seen on the big screen. I think everyone needs to honestly look at the movie and wait till it comes out and gets an honest review.
would have been my point of view, too, *IF* there wouldn't have been that whole "bad trailer, those who don't like it are all misogynistic sexistic a...hles"-campaing of sony... YES, i admit this trailer is much better than the first; sony should have put THIS one on the line instead of the other. but still - as a nerd, the director of this movie and the company responsible for, consider me to be an as...ho..le just because i'm a nerd, a fan of the original franchise, and a critic of the first trailer... combining this with the fact, that the scenes from "T1" might still be in the movie, and that the leaks and fears from the sony-hack have been confirmed by the 4 trailers (incl. international trailers), there's a) not much hope for the movie (i'll give it a chance when its on free-to-air-TV) b) no need to pay to see the movie (alone for paul feigs loose mouth) ... things could have came out differently, without the damage-control after the (unneeded) 1st trailer...
Oh I will freely admit the director shot his mouth off. Yes Sony has handled this wrong. I am just saying watching the new trailer is like night and day to the other trailers which were essentially the same trailers with very minor differences. I think the director and Sony do not tell me how the movie itself is. He shot off his mouth does not mean the movie will be bad. Just means he is a POS.
(help me out, pls - i'm not native to english; what does POS mean?) but yes, this trailer is better than the first one, but still - it is a trailer for a comedy-movie. and eventough it's better, i didn't even smirk once, but cringed many times... a trailer is there to make people think "wow i have to see this movie", but none of the 4 trailers (two US, two rest of the world) made me wanting to see the movie... (and i'm a big fan of the first two movies and the cartoons following them, and had big hopes for the radical new idea of "all female cast" - but Feig and Sony blew it... i won't go to theater seeing this movie even if a 3rd trailer would be the BEST movie-parts i (as a nerd and tv-junky) have ever seen... (it's not just the movie, it's the whole sourrounding "aura of SJWs blaiming the critics", too)
Michael Keller POS is piece of sh*t I am not going to fault you for your views. I can even understand why you would not like to see it. For myself I saw just enough to pique my interest. I have a theater that even on day one if you go early enough you can get in for only $6 USD which for a movie is kind of cheap. I will probably wait to see reviews after opening day then decide at that point.
fyre blayd ok, 6USD are not that much... no big loss... but over here (switzerland), I'd have to pay 25 CHF (about 20USD) for the "low tech theater" (2D, "ready to be upgraded with THX" aso)... (and that's exclusive the drive to that nearest theater, also about 20CHF) ... one gets picky with those prices ;-)
*8 reasons why this is bad WITHOUT mentioning the cast:* 1. The gags are cringy 2. The tone is wrong 3. Slapstick instead of witty deadpan humour. 4. The CGI looks like something out of Scooby Doo. 5. The agenda pushing nature of the movie itself. 6. Stereotypical(and racist) characters. 7. It looks like a SNL parody of Ghostbusters. 8. People wanted a sequel, not reboot. I could go on.
jpchevron 2 how can a tone be wrong when it is the same as the other movies? 3 I don't know what that means 4 there ghosts there not supposed too look realistic 5 that has nothing to do with if it is Good or bad 6 no there is only one and it is there because it is fanny 7 it is a trailer what makes it look like that? 8 how does that make it bad?
Who else is looking forward to the next 3 Ghostbusters movies coming out? Them being; Ghostbusters 3 (of 80's movie) & Ghostbusters animated movie (rated PG) and Ghostbusters 2 (of the 2016 3D movie). Also, Ghostbusters 3 (of 80's movies) will be 2 girls & 2 boys.....they're kids literally in the movie and who they casting in real life to play the new team of 4 kids.
@@wallcrawlinstudios8182 so back in around 2013 (probably 2012) Sony planned on making Ghostbusters into a franchise. The plan was Ghostbusters reboot and Ghostbusters cartoon show and cartoon movie in theaters and Ghostbusters 3 (sequel to the 80's movies) and then yearly release of sequels to the Ghostbusters reboot. We got Ghostbusters reboot. They are releasing Ghostbusters 3 before the cartoon movie (also in theaters). And after all that we will get yearly release of sequels to the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. I should warn you that Ghostbusters 3 (sequel to 80's movies) will be about kids (and girls at that). But yes they (original Ghostbusters, but probably only the black guy) past down the mantel. Probably be something like Ghostbusters Extreme except with kids instead of young adults. So after Ghostbusters 3 and Ghostbusters cartoon movie, we will then get a bunch of sequels to the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. I hope the cartoon movie is in 3D too. Edit: I think the reason they pushed the cartoon back was to make it based on Ghostbusters from Ghostbusters 3 (the kids) instead of the original plan to be based on the adults from Ghostbusters reboot (2K16). Originally they were going to release Ghostbusters 3 after the cartoon movie, not before.
@@wallcrawlinstudios8182 sequels to the 2016 movie. If I had to guess. First we're getting final 3rd installment of the 80's movies in 2020, I think its safe to say the cartoon show in 2021 with it movie in theaters as early as 2022. So no earlier then 2023 for the sequel to the 2016 movie. Like how Marvel movies started out with Blade which made over $100 million follow by X-Men in 2000 which made over $300 million follow by Spider-Man in 2002 which made over $600 million. First you need to start it out as a franchise to see bigger box office results, and thats exactly what Sony is doing, turning Ghostbusters into a full fledged franchise. Then you just keep releasing new movies to keep making $600 million to $2 billion a movie, which is were the yearly release of sequels (to the 2016 movie) comes in. I would imagine they would wait until they had at least the first 2 to 3 sequels already written up, but by the time you get to 2022 or later, I would imagine they would already have it accomplished by then. The problem with the original Ghostbusters movie is that it was made in a way that was never leaving anything to make any sequels out of, hence why we barely got the 80's movie part 2 back then and why we barely getting one final sequel to the 80's movie in 2020 with a passing down the torch thing, which basically means they ran out of material to pull off sequels to the 80's Ghostbusters movie. The 2016 Ghostbusters movie was made/set up in a way where you can successfully pull off sequel after sequel. I suspect the 2016 movie will go as far as somewhere fron a part 5 to a part 10 movie, but I would imagine they would drop using the number come part 2 or part 3 as all movies these days do; to get people to keep seeing the sequels in theaters (excluding Fast and the Furious which can get away with advertising itself as F8 and so fort). So yeah, no earlier then 2023 when we get a yearly release of sequels. I hope they tackle ghost 👻 of ancient aliens 👽 that visit mankind and help advance human civilization. And I think its safe to say they will tackle the most ultimate ghost of all; Satan (i.e. the Devil), seeing as hell exist in the 2016 movie universe and that the barrier was momentarily weaken to create the vortex that allow ghost to come from hell to earth. Not to mention whatever they been making up about that one member of the Ghostbusters who has always had ghost & ecto-plasma always attracted/drawn to her; her whole life. And I wouldn't be surprise if the 2 members who escaped the portal to hell and had their hair turn white ended up with some kinda ghost powers/abilities. Anyways I planning on seeing all the Ghostbusters movies in 3D, just like I'm doing with Sony's Men in Black movies. Men in Black 4 is this June 14, I believe (almost here).
