Same here! “unfinished” or not, it’s amazing. I hope there’s some kind of follow up to mgsv someday. Maybe after Konami is done milking the series with remakes and remasters
@@friskyfatty3256A TPP remake would be great I personally really enjoy the game and almost everything about it except that the open world is kind of empty and the story which I enjoyed could been fixed in some areas also I don’t understand why people are calling this game overrated since nearly half of the people who played this game hated it I would call this game overhyped but that’s a good thing.
@@sourkyle Agreed. Just about every single game has multiple hours of cut content. It’s funny that people freak about over one cut mission in this game. Games should try to be fun over all else. It’s funny how people cry that MGSV is primarily gameplay focused and there aren’t 70 minute long cutscenes. The amount of options this game gives you to complete even a simple objective should be applauded. Most big budget games hold your hand and limit player expression in service of following a linear story. This game makes its wide array of tools available to you at just about all times and tells you to go crazy. More devs should aim for this type of design, most players really hold on to an experience with more agency and choice
Well done, as usual. Couple things I personally find helpful for infil on sniper plats: In guard towers, sniping the guard on the bottom tier is advantageous as a time-saver; the top guard will _always_ notice and descend the ladder to check on the tranqed soldier. While tower guards will always check on each other irrespective of which tier they're standing on, getting both on to the lowest tier: 1. gives the remaining guard less of a bird's eye view of the plat, reducing your chances of detection; 2. distracts the still-conscious guard with the task of investigation, further lowering your chances of detection; 3. exposes the top guard to a headshot while descending the ladder; 4. places both guards on the lowest (and therefore most easily-accessible) tier, making it faster to Fulton them if they're desirable S++ soldiers; 5. bunches the two guards - as well as any other additional guards who might be attracted to the tier to investigate the situation - together in an extremely confined area only accessible via slow ladder, making them prime Sleep 'nade fodder, and further making them all easy to Fulton if wanted. I've Fultoned four S++ soldiers from a single tier on multiple occasions with this tactic. With the MRS-73 NL rifle, while the specs of the MRS SP MF barrel you're using seem the most appealing on paper, its absolutely gonzo length completely prevents aiming from / through tighter spaces (e.g., stairwells, balustrades). Conversely, the MRS TYPE R barrel is almost half the length, but in my experience has an almost unnoticable performance decrease in range and shot grouping that is more than compensated for by its compactness (and it of course still has side- and under- mounts). Anyway, thanks for the upload. I'll shoot you a request on Steam so I can add you to my Supporting FOBs 👍
If you have a grade 7 sleep grenade it will reach both of the guards on each level of the tower if you throw it near the base of it. I try to save sleep nades for guards that are too out of my way or not in my los. It’s much better to chuck one when it’s inconvenient and slow to find an angle to land a shot. I would support you on pc, but I am playing this game on ps5. I have a gaming pc but I didn’t feel like starting all over when returning to this game lol
I never realized the gun hitbox changed based on barrel length! I am now a svg s2 barrel enjoyer. It's so much more comfortable to play! I tested the s2 and mf barrels and concluded the range stat actually makes 0 difference in bullet drop at long ranges. And the zzz damage loss from long range shots is irrelevant anyway because headshots only. Great advice 🫡
Been getting back into this game now and my RU-vid feed has been filled with MGSV, I’m impressed because I don’t have your skills but it’s good to see that the game isn’t dead
The snipers were friendly for once a rare sight to see, the infiltration looks legit that's rarer on RU-vid, last FOBs infiltration i saw from some other player was a no camera, no armor, no electric floor level 99 base, with chicken hat levels of sight, so its a nice sight to see a regular and helpful infiltration video well done.
Crawling is a lot faster if you use Snake or a staff member with the “climber” skill. I like to play it safe, even if I run out of time as long as I don’t get spotted they can’t retaliate and attack my base.
Mgsv is just overhated for not being story driven like other mgs games. Most modern games hold your hand and force you to play exactly how the devs intend you to. A game like mgsv where you can tackle the same objective in dozens of unique ways hasn’t really been replicated and deserves praise! I think a lot of people are starting to realize the great things this game did.
One of the things I've noticed is if you trigger a gernade/c4 explosion, all the guards will focus on that. My favorite strategy for the guys that block their bridges with minies is to cardboard box block the damage and toss a gernade on the helicopter pad/by the containers so they aren't looking at you anymore
Thank you! Reflex is just a crutch, plus using it gives you less esp points. And using night vision wasn’t possible here bc he had emp drones that disable it lol.
I have it on all platforms. I am doing my Xbox x now. This is the 5th file I made. I made 3 profiles on ps4 and one on ps3. It sucks that there's only very few who plays it on Xbox. There are more players in pc except my pc died I only made half way there on pc.
You're pretty good! You should try using the active decoys, you can move through platforms 2 and 3 much more quickly if you just force everyone to look somewhere else for 30 seconds.
I know the player and he was playing since 2016 recorded. He is no doubt the most active player on FOB. Being number 1 on espionage rank doesn't automatically means that he is the hardest player to encounter. I've seen multiple players much harder than him plus great technical gameplay knowledge to play against but still a great skillfull player. Top 10 or even top 15-20 are rigged with cheaters but when you face them on PvP, most of them don't have deep knowledge of PvP skills. Every base is easy even with S++ once you know the pattern. Afterwards, it's getting extremely monotonous and boring.
That's why you have to face defenders in Stealth pvp, I highly doubt you'll find it monotonous. Yes you are correct about the top 20 including this one in the video. 😅👻
I used to play on ps3. I was in top 20 rank with over 40mil esp pts. 5years ago. Back then we had only lvl 62 bases at the most. Now fobs are shut down on ps3
Telepathic / psychic S++ guards are the spookiest thing about infiltrating Sniper plats. You'll be ≥100M away, prone, and completely concealed by a smoke 'nade, but miss the "face triangle" shot on them by two centimeters, and the *REFLEX BOOM* slow-mo hits as they instantly clock you. Crazy.
They will instantly react and turn to your exact position if they even smell a bullet land anywhere near them. But they’ll sit there and let you shoot tranq darts at their helmets for 10 seconds straight. Shit makes no sense.
Skin of your teeth there, 4 seconds left on the clock. Very nice dude. Been enjoying your videos since I came across them, makes me want to try my hand at FOB, but think I need to wait a bit more til I at least have that pistol you have (and a controller that lets me press down on D pad >< - these old PS4 controllers aren't very long lived). I gotta ask though, the static electricity effect as you are moving around, what creates that?
Thank you! The electricity is from a emp drone upgrade that prevents you from using night vision and prosthetic arm abilities. Riot pistol is overpowered but you need to earn it from a specific fob event, if you don’t have it I recommend using the s1000 air shotgun, though even with a silencer it can give away your position at times.
@@friskyfatty3256So the defender uses the EMP drones, and when you're within a certain proximity they block you from using your tools? Did I understand that correctly? Or does using EMP drones basically ensure that the whole platform is protected by the EMP effect?? And what's the difference between items that have a gold/yellow background in my development section and the standard blue backgrounds? Finally, I read somewhere that the anti-aircraft weapons and mortars that you Fulton during free roam and campaign missions/side ops aren't worth keeping on your FOB as they don't get used and are easy points for attackers to farm therefore it was recommended to farm them just to sell them for GMP. Is this correct? Thanks👍🏻
@@venn7eance925 gold items are online items, meaning that they can only be developed with online gmp and resources. Your online resources and gmp have a globe symbol next to them. Destroying the drones gets rid of the emp. If there is at least one drone on the platform you’re on the emp effect will persist. Idk where you heard that but Mortar is very useful, it can one shot players. The guards definitely use them. They will spam it at you if you’re sniping guards, even if you haven’t been detected. The turrets and aa guns have a crazy damage output too. They’re placed on your fobs automatically as long as you have enough of them in your inventory.
@@venn7eance925 Don’t sell them! Don’t sell any of your resources or vehicles/tanks. They contribute to your PF grade. Your diamond dogs is put in virtual battles against other player’s, kinda like fantasy football. You have an attacking and defense score and all of your items (mortars and aa guns included) contribute towards your score. The higher your score gets the more pf points you can earn. You can use the points to buy high rank staff and online recourses. Gmp is very easy to earn from fob mode, it’s not worth it to sell your recourses, tanks, etc.
Best way to find active defenders is to go on the leaderboards and add friend people with high ranks. Support them in game and you will always find active people on indirect retaliation
Yeah this has made me want to learn how to do the same. I want to learn these sneaking skills, I want to set up my own FOB and properly, I want to get in the fun here
It can be fun but truthfully it’s a huge grind. If you’re like me and don’t want to spend real life money, it takes months to get your fob defenses set up well. Upgrades can take up to 2 weeks at a time to develop and cost an absurd amount of resources. The best thing you can do in the beginning is message active players and ask them to support you, that way you’ll have people to defend your base or get stolen recourses back when you’re not able to.
haha i never realised rank affected your damage resistance to mines! i was killed immediately when i used the air-s shotgun to shoot a mine right outside the objective on the medical platform the other day.... i was about 3m away from the mine, i was *fuming* (my soldier had a 2x bonus) btw, what underbarrel do you have equipped on your sniper rifle?
The underbarrel is a tranq pistol it’s called the AM D114 cb. It takes a ton of materials to develop. Yea the rank of a staff member’s combat unit level determines their hp. S ranks and above with the tough guy perk have more health than snake. If you want to use a staff member in a fob mission just make sure you put them as a direct contract or else you will lose them if you die
@@friskyfatty3256 The tranq underbarrel is one of the best in the game, but for me the worst part isn't the development cost but the prohibitive deployment cost. It eats through resources so aggressively I only use it on "special occasions". (But infiltrating a top-100 Espg. ranked FOB - especially a rank 1 - definitely qualifies as a special occasion. 🙃) Props for having the huevos to infil a Grade 78 Sniper plat in combat fatigues. 👍
I can't seem to find any high level fobs in the search tab and I always get low level ones with less materials and low rank staff, is there a way to maybe go around that and get fobs with 48 levels and above?
You can look at the leaderboards for most espionage points earned in a single infiltration and add friend the players on there. Ask if you can support them and once you do you'll be able to retaliate against their attackers through the indirect retaliation tab.
If you pick up or shoot a mine it alerts the defender that you’re at their base and they can come to stop you. But for whatever reason you’re allowed to walk into mines without consequence. And what’s considered “ghosting” is debated among players. For me it’s just perfect stealth, no kills and no defender alert. So picking up a mine would violate that
New to the game and have questions, many many questions... I've only just unlocked the FOB missions in the past couple of days so I'm watching all these pro-player vids like "How the fuck did they do that!!?? Why is everyone rolling instead of crawling? And how do I get that weapon!!!". Is there particular weapons that are a *MUST* above the rest, and what are they!? How do you change your staff weaponary, as in how can I make it so the staff on a particular platform use snipers instead of assault rifles? I have so much to learn clearly so please spam me with tips/advice as all knowledge is greatly appreciated👌🏻💯
Rolling is faster than crawling and you maintain almost the same visibility to guards. For pvp the RGL Stun grenade launcher is very good. You can one shot a player if you headshot them with most guns, so it’s really good to stun or sleep them and try to land a headshot while they’re knocked out. You need to go to security settings from your iDroid and change your guards to long range. You can look up exactly what weapons they will use for each range online but the game tells you too In the development menu. There will be green text saying “equippable by security team staff”. You want all sniper guards, shotgun and assault rifle ones are blind asf. You really want at least all S ranks on your security team. Anything bellow isn’t ideal, since they won’t even call in on radio if they find another guard knocked out and they have much less health. You want to get your security team to a higher level fast. The higher level the unit is the less time attackers will have to invade your base. Having the team at level 99 will only give an attacker 10 minutes to infiltrate your fob. If you want to start getting high rank staff quickly, I recommend grinding the fob event and completing all the extra objectives. You can earn points and redeem them for S, S+, and S++ staff.
I'm just affraid to have a too high security level because of the amount of cheaters on the pc version... And the game forces you to have a fob even if you don't want to... But great work with a low level staff member though, "age hasn't slowed you down one bit."
yea if this was on PC this guy would have gotten eaten almost immediately, also when people invade your FOB if they do anything like destroy or steal your FOB will be blockaded for a few days to prevent further invasions. There is also 'insurance' you can buy that replaces your soldiers to E rank or something like that but it costs MB coins. If you want to be real smart about this however you can make frequent back-ups of your save game and if you lose staff you just replace the save file.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys but I've heard it's related to your espionage score, the higher it'll be and the most player you'll be related to. Some say you can decrease your espionage level by knocking yourself up with sleeping grenades and stun grenades, you'll lose rank and you won't be in the same level than active players. Invade a low level fob, knock yourself with stun, sleeping and stun decoys until you are out and leave the fob with the wormwhole or just kill yourself by jumping in the water. Get rid of the nearby guards first of course to avoid disturbances. I did this and I have been deranked a lot and I haven't been invaded since. But I'm not sure if that's the case. or just refuse Konami TOS and play offline like many would recommand doing. I needed the 100% and all the achievements so I had to deal with it.
True, hardly anyone comes to defend anymore even when I go full lethal on lvl 78s and wait out the timer. There’s no other game like this and it could still have a big player base if they didn’t stop updating it
"urm ackshually ghosting means enemies never see nor hear you and you dont engage at all ☝🤓" fire video though i love iron cog hard v the invisible ouchie
Actually 🤓👆 “Ghosting” is no alert and no stealth, no kills. Not engaging at all is “No Traces”. But the game will only give you the No Traces end screen bonus in main missions, not in fob mode.
Gotta keep playing and experimenting. There are a lot of ways to be successful in this game. Sometimes even going full loud with upgraded battle dress and a lmg or grenade launcher can work too
@@GREATBOYITA stealth is good to ensure there’s no defender or retaliation, but it depends. Lethal is usually faster than no kill unless you’re spotted and they call for reinforcements. You can also throw smoke nades next to the anti aircraft guns and use them to clear out most of the base very quickly without the guards being able to spot you. If you’re not playing during peak hours there’s far less of a chance of a defender coming, especially if you’re fast enough.
@@friskyfatty3256 I would like to point out that despite having made 100 successful invasions, I still feel like a beginner. Especially when it comes to ZZZ rifle shooting. I often and reluctantly get caught despite having smoke in front of you. I also spend a lot of time and a bit of an open mind when it comes to marking enemies. You can't imagine the frustration that I feel when one discovers this after having avoided everything possible.
@@friskyfatty3256 A few days ago I suffered an invasion - failed - by someone in my FOB. I couldn't intervene but the defense was successful. I noticed that a video surveillance specialist is needed. Where can i found it?
I played on the xbox quite a few years back and it was so ridiculously riddled with cheaters People who could clear your base in apprently 7 seconds People who would get spotted 15 times ...yet get no alarms raised and with zero kills / knockouts on the guards Just full of crap
Only shooting or picking up a mine does, not walking into it. You can tell when the defenders are notified bc you’ll see a loading symbol in the top corner of the screen
I Knew a score like that couldn’t be legit lol. I’ve invaded his other platforms too and he uses out of bounds glitches to place mines inside of walls. I’ve also pvpd him once at someone else’s fob and he used the auto wormhole and max grade shield as a defender. So lame
Eh, going completely quiet and not trying to take out any guards is usually the best way to do these. Taking them out non-lethally seems better because if you go lethal then it just somehow ends up in a blood bath.
