This looks like a very useful pedal that really shows it's value in a live context when you need a part to poke out in a busy mix or for soloing. Would be great to do demos like this with a recorded rhythm section (or live) just to show how effective it can really be.

I don't play much over driven music these days but I watch your vids because you always manage to have "Tone" unlike some others that keep my cat bleeding from the ears and clawing its way out the door. You present what the product can do to and for your gear and you still hear the gear. That's important!

I can't tell if the colour grading change at 7:10 is intentional or not haha. but it works with the pedal, on/off, switch there 😊 another note, yes this pedal is such a cool idea, can image it being very useful as a tool, or as an always on kinda pedal. sounds great! always get excited for, and love your pedal review man. keep them coming!

Great demo, good to see the N4 back in action. I like this pedal A LOT. It would work really well as a boost for single note lines, really make a guitar pop out in a live mix.

Yep - there used to be a Yamaha pedal for this called the Nathan East NE-1 - pretty much was the same functionally as the haunting Mids. It was generally used as a sort of bass cleanup pedal - clarifying the sound overall by messing with the mids. It was a parametric.

Hi Bea! hope you all doing fine out there.. Can I use this pedal for boosting my solos and cutting through the mix? Using it on a mesa mini rectifier
@TheNocturnalEvil
@TheNocturnalEvil 3 года назад
It's a single band parametric equalizer that targets the mid-range frequencies. Yes you can use it to boost solos or tighten the low end response of a Rectifier. If you want a more versatile alternative try the WMD Parametric EQ. It's a three band parametric equalizer. It's like a Furman PQ3 in a pedal form factor. Back in '80s and early '90s the Furman PQ3 was used by many bands as a boost and tone shaping unit before amps. Even Dimebag used the PQ3.

Eh, different strokes for different folks. I play an AC30 which doesn’t have a mids control at all so this pedal was perfect to help dial the mids in or out without having to adjust the bass and treble controls. Definitely a niche pedal for sure tho. It does what it does, YMMV.
@Doomlord777

No no no dude they didn't *copy* any designs, they just *borrowed* them, and then claimed they invented them, and made up a story about how they invented them. Oh, and then they continued to sell them after even one of the actual designers asked them to stop.

@TomsGreenMind
@TomsGreenMind 6 лет назад
The guitar is a mid range instrument. That's the frequency it lives on, why wouldn't you want more control over that? It's definitely not for everyone, but definitely not pointless. Being able to tweak your mid range in a mix can be the difference between you standing out or completely disappearing.
@oisinmcphillips2090
@oisinmcphillips2090 6 лет назад
@@TomsGreenMind you know what else allows you to tweak your midrange? A 5-10 band eq, which is a whole lot more value for money than one extra mids knob
@adamr8878
@adamr8878 6 лет назад
Well, it has a Q adjustment which an EQ does not. And the centre frequency is variable (parametric), which is not a feature on an EQ pedal. There is just 2 reasons..
