If you look at pictures of Military Personnel on Liberty at ports in the Pacific like the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia you see them wearing Bright Hawaiian Shirts because they were being sold right there at the DOCK where the Sailors and Marines were getting off the boats and they were getting ready to have so FUN after been onboard a Ship for 30-45 days. For a time there were Contest to see which Marine or Sailor would have the LOUDEST/BRIGHTEST Hawaiian Shirt and the WINNER would be the First person off the Ship! That is where the Bright Shirt comes FROM it goes back to the 1920s Pacific Sailors and Marines!
Awesome looking figure. Really digging the beat up sculpt. Didn’t manage to score one, but might look into picking one up from overseas (depends on the prices). Thanks for the early look. 😁👍
Looks good. Basic figure @ convention price stings some… but Hasbro is trying to tell a story and I can appreciate what they are trying to do. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on one… eventually! I had an idea for a Joe Convention piece. After seeing the Scrap Iron sculpt… I want to see the Green version of Snake-eyes…… when he was PRE-Snake-eyes. Give us the basic soldier.. clean head sculpt… basic gear & injury accessories… maybe a stick crutch, soft vinyl bandage arm sling… then maybe include 2 additional head sculpts…. Scarred/disfigured & bandaged wrapped head…Make something unique for the big snake eyes fans and yet collectors don’t have to feel obligated for a “new” name figure. What do you think? Any certain Joe’s you would like to see as a convention piece?
That sounds like a solid exclusive. There’s so many but I think I’d like a Starduster or some characters from the Original 13 in a pack. I’d even like to see an update of the 60s Joes in 6 inch scale. That would be great
The last laugh is IssuesG.I. JOE #0, G.I. JOE: COBRA Issues #1-4, G.I. JOE: COBRA SPECIAL #1-2, G.I. JOE: COBRA II Issues #1-4 and #10-13, and COBRA #12. It’s 356 pages.
What’s crazy is how we all think an exclusive that’s up for ink 24hrs didn’t sell well if it didn’t disappear after a few minutes. I’m guilty of it. I’m glad a lot of people were able to get him preordered.
I snagged one on Pulse, can’t wait to get him, and I was never that big of a fan of the original ARAH figure. But that beat up extra head is hilarious, so I had to get him!
@@lokiwartooth1138 now that’s a good birthday. Yup I got him and I have a fond memory of my grandmother helping me fill out the form for my Steel Brigade(still have him).
@@BaldyLockz no way!! I had 72 joes and acc but an exs mom stole 10 boxes of toys and hit ebay with em! 10 Tupperware boxes the big foot tall by like two foot with cats, joes, motu, legends ugh still makes me sick.
I loved his look in the movie and the fact that (while he never uttered a word) he was stoic with a codename of Chuckles…it’s like naming a 6’6” guy, “Tiny”
I really dig it. I had serious doubts, but thats a good Joe. The box art and beat up head reminds me of Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye. Thats a bad ass 70's inspire caper comic and Chuckles looks like he'd fit right in there. I guess im on the opposite side of the tattoos because all the characters that have them i think rfit the characters. I don't want Rock N Roll without his ink and not throwing some horns.
Solid call on Hawkeye. I really like how they included the comic. And yeah, I’m all for the tattoos but I’m also glad they didn’t give Chuckles any. It wouldn’t feel right. Now for Rock N Roll? It’s such an awesome way to update him
Chuckles is fine, but wow I found my Sentry head! Hope it works without too many problems on the new Marvel Legends Sentry and doesn't look too big/too small on that body! Thanks for the review BaldyLockz!
After the detailed explanation of Chuckles' character history and the many instances of the brightly colored or patterned shirts, no one can tell me that Valaverse Covert Condor figure isn't a derivative of Classic Chuckles
@@BaldyLockz Three Stooges actually! But anyways, thanks for the review. I look forward to getting mine! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sxAk3B_zS5k.html
Yup, I caught the mistake and that’s why I put Soundwave name up on the screen to correct myself. I was handling a RED Shockwave before I did the video haha
I mean, you’re not wrong. They definitely can stand alone but I liked to mix some GoBots in with my Transformers as a kid so it’s kind of the same thing
