Andretti Maley well, Gardner did win a Gold Glove, so he's pretty good in left field. Stanton isn't a bad defender though, he could take over as Gardner ages or if Bryce Harper doesn't come over next year
Yeah, glad Headley is gone. They're talking to Todd Frazier and making calls about Machado, the latter of which is unlikely to happen. But now they can also seek a second baseman if Andujar isn't ready by 2018 and they decide to put Gleyber at third base
He was one of my favorite players and I was always bummed as a fan he was never on a winning team now I get to see him don the pinstripes for my yanks it's fun to see
- And that's a good thing? So the rest of baseball should just abandon their teams & cancel the season & just give the championship to the Yankees then, correct?
Judge and Stanton are both young, talented players and help to put fans in the seats. They are good for the game. And you hope they both have career ending injuries? That says a lot about your character. Real classy!!
They may get starting pitching through a trade. They want to stay below the luxury tax threshold so it would probably be best for them to refrain from trying to get guys like Arrieta and Darvish. They may trade for starter who is still arbitration eligible so that the money is relatively low.
Michael Caputo I'd expect them to trade Ellsbury next, if they can eat a lot of the contract. They won't get anything of value back in return but he needs to be gone because they now have too many outfielders.
J Singh They're looking to trade Ellsbury right now. It makes no sense to hold onto him until the trade deadline as he has no place to play. They are going into the season with Judge, Stanton, Hicks, and Gardner as their 4 outfielders on the roster and and have Clint Frazier in waiting. There's a 0% chance Ellsbury reports to spring training in a Yankees uniform.
J Singh I think the Yankees will do everything they can to ensure Ellsbury isn't on the team in the spring. He doesn't fit into their future plans at all. They want out of his contract so badly that they have told other teams that they would pay half of his remaining salary (according to reports today) and even throw in a top prospect. Its been rumored that Ellsbury doesn't want to leave. I think the Yankees will stress to Ellsbury that he will get zero playing time and will sit the bench most of the year if he doesn't waive his no-trade clause. It will ultimately fall on Ellsbury as to what he wants to do, but if he wants to play regularly, he has no choice than to go elsewhere. He's a competitor and a ball player, so he's going to want to play as much as he can and not ride the bench.
J Singh The Yankees cant afford to keep Ellsbury until July. They can't keep 5 outfielders on the roster. They need someone gone now. If its not Ellsbury, it will be Gardner, which no one wants. Gardy still plays very well, and better than Ellsbury, and is on the last year of his contract. Gardner is a veteran leader on the team, is well respected by the organization, and loved by the fans, so trading him is the last thing the Yankees want to do. Ellsbury might not want to leave, but if he wants to play he's going to have to go. Headley might also be traded also, but I'm not so sure about that yet. Who would play 3rd? Gleyber Torres is likely the 3rd baseman of the future, but he's never spent time in the majors, and is also coming back from an injury that cost him all of last year. The Yankees just cant throw him at 3rd from Day 1 and hope for the best with no back up plan. The Yankees plan to have Torres on the roster out of spring training if he's healthy but would like to work him in slowly to start out with. I think Headley starts at 3rd to begin with and then they gradually put Torres in there. If he progresses well, he will take over as the starting 3rd baseman and Headley can be dealt at the trade deadline. Headley can also back up Bird at 1st base, so its entirely possible that that they keep him all season as an insurance policy for 1st and 3rd.
going off of the question @2:39 theres gonna be a lot less (unintentional) intentional walks, meaning they're gonna have a lot more pitches to hit. so hopefully more dingers
Come on Stanton I've been a marlins fan for as long as I can remember and the only reason was because of you and Jose and now that your both gone I'm left with nothing
You Yankees fans do realize he hit 59 homeruns in the National Leagues bottom of the barrel division for pitching right? We have four words for Stanton here in Boston. Chris Sale and David Price. A whole different ball game here in the American League East.
This team is one dimensional strike out or home run. That's the reason why we didn't beat (Verlander) Houston this dosent make us any better. In the 90s they worked the count, got clutch hits, walked and grinded out at bats this team is nothing like that. We will come up short again
Now that ive thought bout this for a bit...With this LINEUP... Not to slight Boone..The Yankess did good not Hiring a Top Flight Manager cuz it aint gonna matter....This line will score 6-8 rns gm...The Bullpen takes 2 innings away So Teams will be playing 7 inning games vs the yanks Early Start to maybe be better then dose 95-2000 YANKESS....Time will tell.....
just how many more moves are the yankees gonna make though 1 more big move 2 more big moves 3 more big moves all they need is a starter there outfield is set the infield is set there bullpen is set there bench is set the coaching is set the manager is set so what else it looks like starting pitching and thats it if CC signs back then thats it because the rotation will be CC SEVY TANAKA GRAY MOTEGAREY there not gonna go with a 6 man rotation i know they were rumors if they would have signed ohathi that they would have but thats out just sign CC and i guess there looking to move Ellsbury or Headly or both but Ellsbury dosent wanna waive his no trade clause can u blame him look at this team i dont see any other propsects being traded i heard frazier's team mention for that pitcher on Pittsburg beyond that what other players are on the movie and the free agents on the yankees airnt coming back Matt holiday todd frazier michael pineda and jamie garica cc sabathia will so thats it
Paola Victoria you do realize that was from playing in a pitchers friendly park half the time. Moving now to yankee stadium and playing half his games there will no doubt raise his batting average
