Exactly what I thought. As someone who's dealt with professional burnout, it was immediately the first thing I thought of. I reached a point where I just didn't give a shit and said whatever I wanted to the point of unprofessionalism, because I was so burned out I didn't care if I was fired.
@@Roy_270 is 100% right. Ohtani didn't want to play here then, what would make him want to come here now? I guess what's next is people will start blaming Stanton for Rodon's performance in 2023.
@@mattp722 Lmao. Gleybers defensive miscues and lack of hustle. Judge running into the wall. Hell even Dominguez getting TJ. In all seriousness though, I’m pretty sure Stanton is the reason we didn’t go after Harper that year cause Cash couldn’t see a scenario of him playing first base with Judge, Hicks, and Stanton manning the outfield.
He’s just acted incredibly unprofessional lately on top of all the bad decisions. The arrogance and the petty comments have really been coming out lately. It’s ridiculous and just embarrasses the organization even further
I agree. As a Yankee fan, very disappointed he has NOT been fired yet. We need a revamp in and out of this organization. I feel like as long as we have Cash, we aint gonna do jack shit. I hate feeling that way, but its the way i feel and shit like this is an example of yet another reason he should be employed by the Yanks in the position he is. He needs to put the peace pipe down and be professional and right now this is NOT a good thing moving forward for the team. Not on positive can come of what he just said.
Hal doesn't have the desire or passion to win that his father had. I miss seeing those times where the old man only appeared in the game and the team was more encouraged to hit. Hal is a joke and is taking the Yankee organization deeper and deeper.
Nah i think he doesnt cares since he knows he wont be fired no matter what he does . He doesnt want out he is just showing he has unlimited job security
I think Judge and co. approached ownership with gripes against Cashman and this is Brian going back at them. Calling out Judge for “running into a wall” and having to deal with his injury
As a yankee fan can't wait until free agency starting the next 2 years we know yall can't pay for all those players yall got lol enjoy them now cause we'll pay for at least 2 of them
Interesting points made by Kay. Only time will tell if there were any hidden intentions by Cashman's Comments. Either way, gotta figure out how to get Stanton back to hitting. Maybe he was injured all last year, and fighting through it. Hopefully, he comes to spring training healthy, and renewed.
As a long-time Yankee fan, the funniest thing about this whole situation is Stanton is only three years older than Judge. The same people who constantly complain about Stanton's contract.....also demanded Cashman give Judge whatever he wanted....for as long as he wanted. Judge will *ABOLUTELY* be a full-time DH who's on the IL every year......JUST LIKE STANTON....within a year or two.
I mean. As a Yankee fan, he is saying what most Yankee fans have said the past couple of years. Personally, I appreciate the transparency. Hopefully, it lights a fire in Stanton and motivates him. Maybe this is Cash's plan all along.
Exactly, we can't act like the Stanton trade was horrible we all wanted that to happen at the time, but count the number of players who are fantastic until they come to the Bronx the list is endless
Stanton can take Cashman’s public putdown either by sulking and putting up even worse stats in 2024 or he alters his batting stance by moving closer to home plate, avoid sweeping sliders, and bash 40 or more HRs as “I’ll show you, little man GM!!”
I think Stanton was embarrassed about some things last year. I would be surprised if he doesn't put in some serious time to try to fix it. I also am in the same boat as Michael Kay: I like Stanton and I really think he has handled NYC well.
Hey hey! Before he didn’t get the promotion (bc they thought he was dead), he came to Steiny with a proposal to get Bonds and Griffey without having to give up too much. Lol.
@@jimboscooter432Irrelevant hyperbole. Money talks. No way that agent says no to Cashman if the price is right. Cash is gonna call that bluff the minute dude walks in the room.
What Cashman said is true, but he really shouldn't have said it in the way he did. I want Stanton to be great, because his success benefits the team. Him and Judge would be lethal. But, the Yankees do need to take into account that Stanton gets hurt almost every year. It is part of what the team has to deal with every year and it affects what the team does.
Bro Cashman is out of control 🤣 as true as this is cuz Gincarlos is ALWAYS HURT you don't say that about a player YOU TRADED FOR!!!!!!! and a player that is still on your team, bruh this team is a dumpster fire and im glad i've been boycotting this team for 2 seasons now going on my 3rd next season 💪🏻 enough is enough of this man.
Cashman is unhinged. I think the criticism has finally gotten to him. It has impaired his judgement. It's not just the fans either. It's the press. It's ARod, Jeter and Reggie Jackson. Most importantly, it's the fact that Judge cut him out and speaks with the boss directly. Not to mention that Judge subtly took a shot at him. Cashman has finally had enough.
Injury prone guys who get injured, shocking. The gm not averse to pointing fingers, just don't point them at him. He should have been fired a minimum of 5 years ago
I’m actually kinda surprised by this. And like the guys on the show, I’m perplexed as to what Cash is trying to achieve here. Because it’s not like Cashman lied; Stanton has been on the IL literally every year since we got him, and some years multiple times. And if Cashman said “we expect him to play 150 games next year for us” we would all call him delusional. But to come out and say this about your own player is…. Odd
honestly my first few thoughts too. not sure what his end game is but him wanting him to leave makes the most sense. sucks his agent represents yamamoto
This reminds me of when Branch Rickey was GM of the Pirates and he wanted to dump Ralph Kiner. He destroyed Kiner's trade value in hopes that would get the fans would accept getting rid of him
Cashman is pissed because he's being questioned for the first time. He cant handle it. Hus time in NY us over Time to go. He's disgraced the Yankee Organization
My money is on the first 2 options. Get Stanton fired up for the next season. And if it gets Stanton to want a trade it's a win-win for the Yankees too.
Which now has Stanton's agent advising his clients about coming to the Yankees. Oh yeah one of his clients is *YAMAMOTO!!!!!* Oh Cashrupt you're the f'n man this week.
Don’t agree how Cash handled it but his comments are true. Stanton typically takes a month 1/2 off each year these past three or four years. Now the guy can’t run, no where the hitter he used to be. No doubt Cashman and Hal are shaking their heads on original contract they did with Stanton.
So the medical staff question is a great one that doesn’t get brought up enough. Why are the Angels players always getting hurt? Why Yankees players?! Poorly run medical and physical/conditioning departments with bad programs is my guess. Just like the Rays pitching department
THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. THis is the best quote from Cash the past 300 years. Professional sports is being destroyed by the "superstar elite" and their agents. Supported mostly by the masses who knows any better. Superstar athletes are paid way too much. Ambulance drivers, the cops, poor fisherfolks and farmers that provide fresh food to your table actually are more heroic. On top, they have to be PAID EVEN WHEN THEY STINK! And the teams CANNOT COMPLAIN. I thought we are a JUST and COMPASSIONATE SOCIETY. Paging the insatiable Scott Boras.
Teams should also share their excess income. To the national coffers, to charity, to education of the youth. Sports should not only make spoiled brats but build up society and support the youth as well. That is ideal
Why doesn't baseball have a Long Term Injury Reserve where a player's salary doesn't count against the salary cap? Stanton would be the perfect candidate for that.
The contracts are guaranteed for a reason. Players like jusge wait until 30 to sign a deal never made more than 17 before 30. They take advantage of players when they are young and players get it back and the back end
If Cashman is really trying to get himself fired from the Yankees, he should drag the 2009 Championship trophy around the parking lot like George Costanza did.
Why would a GM (who has underperformed with one of the highest payrolls in the sport) go out of his way to piss off a player who cannot be traded, sabotage the opportunity to sign the player that same agent represents? Why has Hal Steinbrenner let this guy damage the perception of the team to free agents and the public?
Cashman is single-handedly bringing down the cachet of the New York Yankees. Every team goes through ups and downs, but the old-school, classic baseball organizations, you never saw this kind of nonsense, especially from a tenured executive. he’s burned out, he’s overmatched, Yankees need new blood to bring some respectability back to the organizational leadership
Yankees should have their players backs' publicly, no matter what they think internally. Or else why would anyone come here, already a no-playoff .500 club. 😂
Brillant move by Cashman so Stanton can waive his no trade clause and ask to be traded. I credit Cashman for doing this! There was no other way to get Stanton off of the team and maybe save some money that could be absorbed by another team even if it is a very small amount of maybe 4 million dollars from the 92 million they owe him.
Refresh my memory, but was cashman also the guy that came out and gave the details of the failed Aaron judge contract signing during the preseason last year?
If the Yankees were to acquire Soto, say they take on Stanton's contract despite their financial woes, what is to say that Boone would not rest Soto like he rests other players the night after they go 3-4 with a homerun? Boone just does not play guys when they are hot because he is too much of a believer in what the computer tells him.
"there ia something wrong with stanton's musculature" - yes, correct, stanton is weak. He has weak muscles for his body. Ive heard him talk about his training. He doesnt know what he is doing or how to train.
Three things. Brians right, than wrong on the last two. 1. Yep...he gets hurt a lot. 2. Well, you wanted him when he had injuries in Miami. 3. Are you insane by saying bad stuff about a player that has the same agent for Yamamoto? Fire Cashman. I've had enough.
Been saying Stanton hamstrings this team for years. I HATED this trade from the beginning. It’s was redundant. Had judge already. That’s the problem with this team and it’s construct. They have compiled guys who fall in line with certain analytics. Can’t have that. Have to have guys who do different things.
Brian sounds like a drunken bafoon, almost like hes trying to get fired, this man is untouchable, any other GM would never talk like this freely, also hes the one that traded for Stanton, his contract is all on him, now trying to get out of him by bad mouthing the man.
If what Cash said about Stanton gets him to wave his no trade clause and he gets traded. We’ll be talking about how smart Cash is. If I’m Stanton and I go to another team. I’m going to make Cash eat his words.
