Here’s the deal on the Giannis threes, he takes them because he has no fear. Because Middleton is not out there and he has to try his best to keep them honest. That’s what a superstar does, he doesn’t care about percentages, he comes up in the moment. Now because regardless if he doesn’t shoot them well, Celtics will not play off him as much late in the game. We criticize Ben Simmons for not taking threes, because he’s scared, we aren’t about to criticize Giannis for taking them because he has no fear. He plays in the moment.

Kareem didn't take threes, Wilt didn't take threes, and Shaq didn't take threes. Giannis is a dominant post player except he has elite speed and quickness around the perimeter as well to get to the basket. Why did no one criticize Kareem and Shaq for not being three point shooters? Because they were dominant forces, just like Giannis is now. And Giannis had a clutch three last night with under two minutes left to cut the lead down to 115-112.

Giannis continues to show us he's the best player right before our eyes, and Jrue man, he just had one of the most clutch sequences ever! Three pointer to tie the game, block on Marcus Smart and a steal at the end, he's one of the most underrated players out there, plus Bobby Portis with the putback shot after Giannis missed the free throw. It's a shtick those old farts picked up decades ago, just like Smith and to a degree Wright. Be loud, be polarizing, it dont matter whether you are right, people are going to watch. The catch with that is, that people watch cause these guys are everywhere, so if you want to watch some NBA commentary you almost have no choice. Here is a fun fact about Giannis vs Celtics that I just calculated. Let's assume the series goes to 7 games and Bucks lose. In game 6&7 combined, Giannis has to go 0-30 from the field, score 14 points (free throws, since he can't make his FGs) give 9 assists and have 22 of his rebounds from the previous games removed. This way he will average 26.3/6.3/5.8 for the series on 38.6% FG%. Those are KD's stats vs the Celtics. It's not just the Celtics defense, it's that Giannis just plays better.

I have a genuine question bro…do you guys think stats are the end all be all? Like if you both average 30 but this guy shoots 49% and this guy shoots 55% the guy who shot 55% is for a 100% fact better? Because I don’t look at it like that. I think how and where they get their shots matters too…like if Giannis shoots 50% and Steph Curry shoots 45% then almost certainly Curry was more impressive. I picked Curry because the degree of difficulty imo matters and there isn’t another guy who takes any harder shots than Curry and shoots them more efficiently …at the end of the day winning the game is the bottom line but just watching Giannis I find myself going man he’s a fckn monster then at the same time I’m like but dude he’s kind of a bum😂😂 and obviously he’s not but like dude if he were 6’7 he would be in the G league😂😂😂 I mean he’s not so if it doesn’t matter but my question is do you guys ever think about that? And if so does it matter? Like a pound for pound list in MMA or boxing…that’s kind of how I look at it when I think big picture like Giannis all time greatness…but yeah I just wonder if anyone else thinks about it that way

@@jordancave3089 I definitely agree with you, but it's the mere fact that he'd have to miss 30 shots total to get to Durant's efficiency levels. KD was getting doubled, Giannis was getting triple teamed at many times. Giannis' game wears down his body more, (or at least for most people) while KD/Steph are jump shooters (Steph more so but you get the idea). You have to factor in physicality, just because Steph is shooting from 30 feet out and Giannis is typically 5 feet and in doesn't mean the shot is harder EVERY TIME, Giannis is getting banged up. Steph is the greatest shooter of all time, KD is an all time scorer, and Giannis is one of the best all around players we've ever seen and will likely ever see.
