Giant bones! I find a collection of very large bones encased in rock

I headed out for a really long hike into a new area to see if I could find any fossils on a secluded beach. There were gale force winds on the way out but the weather report said it would die down later in the which is what I was betting on!
On the way, I came across some amazing fossils including one of my biggest bone clusters yet!
I also announce the winner of the fossil crab replica competition where you had to guess the weight of the replica crab.

You picked up a giant bone around 47 seconds. You'd be surprised how many we mistake for 'just rocks'. And that's not rock that bone is sticking out of. It's flesh. And some of that other stuff you're onto but you'd probably pee yourself if you knew what it really was. Great finds.
@effu9593
@effu9593 2 года назад
@SeaPin lol and I bet you didn't know those supposed million years old dinosaur bones are often found with flesh attached and the archaeologists love to scrape that off to get their reticulated skeleton for props. How on earth does flesh last that long? It doesn't. Man really lived with and alongside dinosaurs. And there is so much truth hidden today, yes giants really did exist and still do.

If a museum didn't want the big rib fossil cluster or any of your big finds. It would look like a University with courses in geology and paleontology, and natural history would want them to teach with. Students could prep them and display them in classrooms, some of the large rocks could be hiding much more than a glance can pick up on. Plus the students could move them 🤣

It’s a bizarre thing to see that beach so far away from North America. It reminds me of the beaches in New Brunswick Canada. I spent many hours with my head bent over looking for items that I had no idea what was what! I’ve seen similar stones and I now wonder if they were shark or whale bones!

😊 I'm all with you on this one! I've been fascinated by the Gaspesie region, the Cap Chat SteAnne des monts, for the many stones I found by the beach and very old stone tools. In the mountain too, my friend lives there, so I got to see places and collected so many different kind of stones on the beach that I'm still discovering after 2 years 😄 And with Google earth I saw that some patterns are going to New Brunswick, many seemed like very big creatures... Considering that only 5% of the region has been checked and it's position, many things are still to be found about earth's beautiful way to tell us stories, ours 😊

I grew up around fossil and arrow head hunting. I want to point out to people, that a case full of arrow heads isn't really impressive. A photo album of them where you found and left them is just as good. Maybe you should just keep the really cool one's but still document it. We have the tech now. Good phone's with good photo's in the field. The only tools i've taken home were crude scrapers and that's because i actually still use them as scrapers.
