To the powers that be who have kept your Leopard catamaran on the hard for almost two years, THIS is what YOU have deprived them of! Take notice. While it may not be a big deal to you, it has impacted their lives gravely. It shouldn't be them going out for a special weekend via the kindness of friends on another's sailboat. It should be their lives on their sailboat. Living in freedom, sailing where they please, not in a crowded, hot, dirty, noisy, smelly boartyard! Gheez, how is it so hard for you to comprehend? 🤦♂️ Your smiles, giggles, and laughter speak volumes. They're good for the soul and your viewers wishing you more of the same. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your support and genuine understanding. Lost time and missed opportunities are among the most significant costs of the warranty saga we've lived through, and one of the hardest things to reconcile ourselves with. We set out on this journey seeking the freedom to explore remote parts of the world aboard a sailing home, and remain determined to get there.
As a 🇹🇹 myself, I will say thank you for showcasing our island 🎉and please be safe and careful.Do you live here? My deceased grandad was a launch captain and owned a boat and lived Carenage.Down d islands is extremely beautiful, different life.I wish I could live there😢
We live on an international sailing boat but have been in Trinidad for over a year while it's undergoing extensive warranty repairs. As you probably know with a grandad from Carenage there's some good yacht repair facilities in Chaguaramas 🙂
Good to see you out there enjoying life! It's wrong that you have been deprived of that, you would think that someone at leopard would understand how shameful what they have cost you is.
That Curried Crab looked so good, what did you eat it with? The breakfast and your grilled shrimp also looked amazing. He did great with the Callaloo, but it is better to use the swizzle sticķ than the hand blender, the chunks is what makes it better. Glad you got some great pointers. ❤️ Trinidad 🇹🇹
He told us about the swizzle stick and I think that's what he uses at home but we'd not even heard of one before! The curried crab got eaten with a pineapple salsa, fried rice and a few other sides, but people liked the sauce so much that they were just eating it by itself 😅 Next we are planning on doing pork ribs with a Trini marinade! 😁🇹🇹
@@travelsketch You need some hot sadha roti with that crab and you can add a couple of sliced eddoes or a good starchy potatoto thicken up the sauce, forget the dumplings, sadha is the best. I recently became allergic to crab so I envy you alot. Glad you enjoyed.
@gizellefoster6761 not nice you don't disregard another culture of food to promote your own you could have promote the both of them you can't be an ambassador to promote your country 🫤🥹🥹😭😡
@@FlorenceRichards-ty2zm Sorry not about to argue with a person over the internet, but I am not even going down the cultural road I'm all about the taste. Have a good afternoon and be safe out there. 😊
@gizellefoster6761 You made your comment she responded, why did you have to come back with another comment about your preference? 🙄 some people's children, absolutely no tact 🙄🙄🙄
Thank you so much to everyone for the understanding and support these past few weeks. Dealing with this boat has been the most difficult thing that I have ever had to get through.
What’s you experience of living in Trinidad? What’s the situation with Venezuela regarding piracy & overall security. So nice to see you exploring this part of the world, having lived in Venezuela (Margarita area) it’s nice to see these beautiful islands 😍
We've been here 17 months now and have heard no reports from cruisers about piracy, just the normal things like fishing nets in the water. Like many places there are areas that are relatively safe, such as Chaguaramas, and there are others where you either need to be vigilent or avoid. We've met some incredibly kind and generous people here, and have made Trini friends who've helped keep us sane while dealing with our boat repairs. Also, we're loving being exposed to a whole new style of cooking that we weren't familiar with before as newcomers to this part of the world 🙂
The boat is actually in the middle of a maintenance period at the moment while hurricane season is becoming more active, which is why it's in Trinidad. Their main charter grounds are in the BVI's, Antigua & Barbuda, and the Grenadines. We've become good friends while HQ2 has been down here so wanted them to take a break from boat jobs and enjoy the trip as well, rather than worrying about packing everything away and making it look as perfect as it would for charter 😊
spent many seasons in T and T. Whet to Chakachacari many times. This was just before Venezuela became such a mess. Are they still having piracy problems there?
Haven't heard of any reports of piracy impacting private yachts off the coast of Trinidad since the issues near the Hibiscus platform around 2019 which is good. Chacachacare is our favourite spot DDI!
So, the tucker is a salsa style / soup mix, says fresh& warming . Can't remember dogs name but must be suffering withdrawal from not being on water. Did you see the change in her behaviour? I know with my German shepherd he gets depressed if he can't jump on ute and go to town . Thanks for sharing. 👍🇭🇲🦘 Oh , I add about my dog , because we've been stuck on a property 30km from town for 13wks ( engine rebuild by ?mechanic) . So slightly similar impacts on our animals.
@travelsketch 'Boss' loves jumping in the tinnie as well . He wasn't initially happy about vest wearing , but now , he sees it stored and you can imagine. I hope things resolve to a point everyone's happy , so that you resume your life's passion . Stay strong . Could be worse, living under a terracotta roof house listening to neighbours flush. 👍🇭🇲🦘
@travelsketch just my little f/up on mechanical issues. I finally got my ute to Mazda . Mechanic doing engine swap bruised the wiring loom , hence massive ecu messages . Hard to get what you pay for. Mechanic denied possibilities Mazda offered. I just saw a curry being made in a short . Yum Stay together stay strong in challenging times. 👍🇭🇲🦘
Thanks for the support! Mechanical issues can become such a mess around - Tynan does all the engine servicing on Liger because he and Trent used to do up 4WDs as a hobby back home so luckily he knows his way around a diesel engine.
It provides a huge amount of freedom and can be absolutely incredible, but on the flip side it's WAAAAAAY more work than living in a house and requires you to be pretty self sufficient because if something breaks when you're away from yachting hubs you're generally on your own to fix it up.
@@travelsketch it's a life I always want to experience at life for a week or so cuz I truly can't live it full time lol ... My wife ain't like the idea so much lol 😭😆
Why the Trini guy is talking with all that American accent?? Does he live abroad or something? Because i can't understand why he won't want to speak with his original sweet Trini accent.
He lives in Trinidad but has spent a number of years living in the US so that side of the accent tends to naturally come out more when he chats to foreigners. I have an uncle who's Australian like me but lives in the US - he sounds completely American until he comes home to visit family, then the Aussie starts coming out again 😁
