I’ve watched several of these ship spotting videos and knew that at the speed these ships are traveling that tremendous wake waves must be produced that would cause great erosion impacts and danger to smaller boats. Of course this is happening in a country that probably cares nothing about these issues.
Hi Jeff, Happy Monday, Thank you for watching the video, I really appreciate your comments, you are right about the speed and waves of the ships here, however the local government is building embankments to prevent soil erosion. Small fishing boats are also very skillful in dealing with big waves by moving their bows perpendicular to the waves. Therefore, there are no accidents caused by large container ships running on the river. Hope to see your comments in the next videos!
Further more, The image of the wave you see in the video is due to the ship moving close to the shore, at a fairly fast speed, causing the difference in water level between the front of the ship and the back of the ship, causing the water to be forced to one corner of the sharp bend in the river!
