It is still under control since the speed is about 13 knots and the ship is slowed down a lot after the sharp turn!! Thank you so much for watching and hope to see you in my next videos!
The ship can turn to left or right because it has a rudder, when the rudder turns, propeller pushs water and creates a water flow, then water flow hits rudder and changes its flowing direction, this will push the stern of the ship to desired directions. It is the same as excavator having steering wheel at the back!

To continue: The painting was being done while the individuals were standing in sampans! In those days Maersk vessels were immaculately turned out. Really enjoy the sight of speeding ships navigating that crazy serpentine waterway. Keep the videos coming
Thanks for the information, to me EverGreen is doing maintenance more frequently because I see their ship having new painting every year and now they have a brighter Green color! This make their ship look stunning on river!
when I lived in Hong Kong in the early 70s I often visited the Ocean Terminal where invariably a Maersk freighter was moored. I recall the hulls being painted by Chinese wielding paint rollers on the ehd of long poles
Thank you so much for watching! As my understanding, the exhaust tube from engines needs to be fix with the hull structure and they are protected by thermal insulation materials as well!! So they need a cover outside which we normally see and the top of exhaust tube only and human can get inside for checking!
