You drive as good as any local now. I think the crepes came after my time as Shawarma was far more popular when I left. Seeing it being made was very enticing and now I want some lol, though maybe with some jalapenos and chipotle sauce (I got spoiled by the variety of foods here in America, though sadly not the quality). Btw, I suggest using Google Translate from your phone to read the menu. I think you just go to translate, then there's a camera button where it will scan the words and translate them for you

Oh yes I know about the google translate with the camera. But I didn't really want to do it while filming. Sometimes it doesn't translate well which always makes me laugh 🤣 Yeah I miss spicy peppers like jalapeno and habanero! But the food here is so delicious. I definitely eat more shawarma than crepes, but they are readily found all over. I love Egypt: the people, the music, the food. So much ❤

Hi there, thank you so much for watching 🙏 I unfortunately will not be able to honor your requests about making videos about motorcycle prices or luxury apartments. My channel is about travel and a vlog, not so much about expat life. Not only that, I do not know anything about apartments in Egypt and their prices, as I am not a real estate agent and I do not have anywhere near enough money to buy an apartment (not even a cheap one, let alone luxury). It would be a difficult video to make and not fun for me. The same goes for the motorcycles. My bf is Egyptian and he helped me find a motorcycle to buy, as he speaks Arabic and was able to translate. There are various prices that you can find online though, search for motorcycle shops in Egypt and you will be able to view the prices. You can also find prices for apartments online as well. For used things, you can hop on the website olx and see prices as well. Or you may consider searching for videos on RU-vid with expats that make these types of videos. Sorry I can't help, but I wish you the best of luck!

Alright, all the hotels are safe, I think Egypt is very safe so I wouldn't worry about that. But I never stayed in hotels, I always stayed in hostels. Now I have an apartment with good internet. The Wifi sucks at most hotels and hostels that I have been to, you should get a SIM card with data. I made a video about my top 5 favorite hostels, as well as come basic info you should know for when you arrive. Hey Giselle, I watched your City Crepe vlog, I tried it myself and while I got the budget-friendly appeal there, it felt more like a quick, economic bite than a gourmet experience. If you're ever up for a splurge for some real crepe magic, you gotta try The Crepe Company! They're a bit pricier, but their ingredients are top-notch, and the crepes themselves are next-level fluffy and delicious. Seriously, treat yourself and give them a shot! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. I tried the chicken cocktail there twice though. Cheers 🍻

Honestly, I am not really sure, as I never buy gold. You can probably buy it in Khan el Khalili market, there are some shops indoors where they sell that stuff. You should know how to tell real gold from fake though (I don't). You should also look up what the cost of gold is right now in the world, then do the math on 1 gram. I know gold prices have been fluctuating a bit. So you would do the math on what a gram of gold should cost, and then add the cost of labor for whatever item you are buying, and negotiate. Perhaps join a facebook group or two and ask this question. One group where I recently saw this being mentioned was Egypt Travel Tips and Tourism facebook group.

Don't just park your motorcycle anywhere, even hear in London motorcycle theft happens more then car theft, my friend's brother living in Egypt they stole the battery of his motorcycle. So always try to park it in a secured locked place if possible or where some security guard or "Bawaab" is constantly watching.

I usually do. I also leave the name of the place in every video, which you can search on Google (there's only one City Crepes in downtown Cairo!), as well as the prices, which is more than what most RU-vidrs do.

I remember when those crep fast food shops first came out. They weren't that massive in size and there were variety of crep shop chains. They were all very crowded. Now it's only city crep that continued to exist. And it became everywhere.

I had one of these crepes just a few weeks ago when I was in Cairo. I live in Sohag now and have been traveling here for the most part of my life from Houston, Texas. 😅 Thank you Omar! Ahaha, yes I do drive more carefully now, after my accident 😆 But I love living here, Egypt is such an incredible and beautiful country. I wish I had stopped in Sohag on my motorbike trip south last year! Maybe I will make another trip in the future and take my time, stopping along the cities and villages along the Nile sometime in the future.

You popped up on yt so i clicked on you..Honestly...kudos to you..i learned arabic in my 20s..it isnt easy...you are doing great..You are officially Egyptian if you can drive in that insane traffic. I never fell in love with the food there but that is because I prefer the lebanese kitchen , still it looks like they ha e new foods..i did love the fateer though..admire you..i find cairo craxy..fayrouz is actually very tasty and i am not a malt beverage person 😊..try it next time dear!

Haha, oh I love your comment, thank you! Arabic certainly is a very crazy complicated language, so different to any other language I have tried to learn! I love Lebanese food too, actually my favorite shawarma spot here is Lebanese 🤫😆 I actually learned how to drive motorcycle here and it was certainly a challenge! I knew there wasn't, but I did think "Isn't there a parking lot I can go practice in..?" 🤣 No, of course there isn't. Trial by fire, as they say! 🤣 Early morning Fridays and Saturdays was a good time to practice though. I will try Fayrouz next time I'm out! If you like it but aren't generally a malt beverage drinker, who knows, I may like it. Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤

Hmm, I'm so sorry but I have no idea. There are many schools of different calibers and I don't really pay attention to that (or know) because I don't have kids. Cairo is HUGE. Since you've been living in Egypt for a long time you should probably try to learn the Egyptian Arabic more it'd be really entertaining and easy since you live in a country its official language is Arabic

Actually I have a teacher, and she's good. It just takes time to learn Arabic, it isn't an easy language to learn, and learning any language doesn't happen overnight

In this video? Yes I went downtown to record, like I said before I jumped on my bike and drove there. I have been to Nasr city a few times, but not so often, as it's kind of a drive to get there and I never have anything to do in Nasr city

@@clever1840 Ahaha, alright. Well I've actually been to City Stars. But actually I hate malls and shopping 🤣I prefer local life and wandering around the markets, to be honest. I also haven't ever made a video in the malls because a) I think they are kind of boring and would be a boring video to watch, and b) they don't allow you to film in the malls anyway, I tried once and after like 2 mins of filming the security told me I can't film inside. So, two reasons to never go 😅But what is abbas El akkad street, I've never heard of it. Is it like a local market..? Or is it like Heliopolis boutique street or something...? I'm not a big fan of Heliopolis either, tbh 😅

I'm architect so I can understand that you love local places in downtown, it has precious soul and unique feelings. Also by the way people their are so cool and clever in cooking. I have been in Cairo for 14 years, 7 years in elmanial and 7 years in Nasr city I hate both of them lol wanna go argentina lol

I obviously haven't been here in Egypt very long when compared to you, but I'm loving it for now, though I don't think I'll live here forever, I love to experience new places. But yeah, I prefer the local areas and vibes, I enjoy it so much more than the "nicer" areas i.e. richer, fancier neighborhoods with more stuck up people and boring streets.

@@Horus0106 Thank you Horus, I know that 😆I live in Cairo, which is why most of my videos are in Cairo, but I rode my motorcycle to Alex and filmed that. I rode my motorcycle from Cairo to Abu Simbel and filmed that, stopping in Minya, driving through the desert and passing Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan and finally Abu Simbel again before heading back north and stopping in Beni Suef. I've been to Siwa and filmed there, as well as Hurghada and Dahab. I am going to drive to Faiyum soon and will be filming that, and in a few months I will go to Marsa Matruh and make stops along the way there too. I also did just tell you I plan to go to New Cairo and film, I am just being honest with you when I say I don't have a huge interest in going there, because from what I've heard, it's basically a rich neighborhood with malls and gated communities and compounds, which does not appeal to me at all. But I will repeat again, I am still going there eventually.
