Idk if it's possible but you should try and make a lure completely out of baking soda and super glue

Here's another fun fact: Earwigs belong to the Dermapteran order of insects, and Dermapteran somes from the Greek words Derma, or skin, and Ptera, or wing! They're "Skin Wings!" Gosh, you covered Earwigs so thoroughly!! Gorgeous lure, really beautiful colors and details! :D

I did say a couple, and next one has probably been done. A solid head squid, with moulded replaceable soft tentacles. The leg assembly could be done as a single mold to make it easier....maybe. Just throwing some thoughts out there. Keep up the amazing inspirational work.

Nate, when you pour intricate plastics like your little earwig legs, you need to use the flat, back side of another mold to lay over the top of your mold cavity to create a flat surface. You will ALWAYS get flashing on your plastics. So what I do is I warm up both molds so it doesn't shock the plastisol and start to set too fast. You can't just lay the other mold on top and squish it down. It doesn't work that way. You have to get your mold cavity on a level surface and pour your hot plastisol. Have your other mold ready to go, touching the back side of the mold with the cavity in it. Since the mold is flexible, bend the flat side of the other mold (not the mold with the cavity) upwards, and slowly roll if forwards towards you. You're essentially doing the same thing you would do if you were applying a vinyl decal. You don't just slap the decal down. Other wide you'd trap tons of air pockets. You have to start at an edge, and squeegee the decal forward. Same with your small parts on your silicon mold. Start at the back edge and use the pre-heated back side of a spare mold to squeegee the plastisol forward towards yourself. Then get a little weight and put it on top of the two molds. Wait about 2-3 minutes for them to cure, and extract. You will have flashing, but it will be paper thin, and it peels right off by hand instead of having to trim it with scissors or risk ripping your piece. That's what I do. I hope it makes sense, and I hope it helps. Thanks for all the wonderful videos. You are the lure making KING!

First glance at your finished earwig reminded me of something I started trying when tying jigs. When softly waving appendages are desired, thin leather strips might be one material of choice. Tougher than hair, feathers, or poured plastic, easy to work with, just food for thought...

Hey marling!! I would love to see a video where you got to Walmart or something and buy stuff there and make lures. I know they have craft wood and stuff.
