Watching that gear go up and down has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen today. Thanks for sharing! Thanks for understanding about the delays. Now that we have Toledo behind us and hopefully our family situation figured out, we are back to working on finishing the nacelles this weekend. Shipment incoming next week.... we hope.

Looks like Kermit Weeks has his full scale A-26 project on track for EAA this year, and has posted some of the restoration vids and things, so it is cool to see this RC one mixed in my subscription page with the full size.

I was just watching his latest update too! I actually used one of his videos to help me figure out the landing gear. Details on this plane are hard to come by! It would be pretty cool to get a shot of them together. 😆

I wonder if you should allow the downlink to go just past center to make sure that in case of a hard impact the downlink cannot snap toward the servo arm given where the hinge point is. If you a little bit of travel left in the servo it would be fairly easy to do by filing an angel on the stop block (to let it go ever so slightly past center) and extending the servo rod to match and hopefully not enough to have to reposition the servo to get full up gear.

I didn’t measure, but the downlock arms do go “ever so slightly” past center, although it’s so close that they look straight. Additionally, the pushrod is being held in the “locked” position by the servo arm, and the arm-pushrod are also aligned straight so the locking power isn’t dependent on the servo torque.

Wow really nice Gear construction. What is the size from the A 26?
@TheHarberHangar
@TheHarberHangar Год назад
My model will be 1/4-scale. The wingspan is roughly 18ft.

@@TheHarberHangar thank you 👍 Very nice. Roughly where will you be in terms of weight? Over 25kg?
@TheHarberHangar

Still TBD, but definitely shooting to be under 25kg(55lbs)

Gorgeous. Will you incorporate the notorious collapsing nose gear like the original? 😬 There is a RU-vid video of this happening at Oshkosh a couple years ago. Fun to watch, because it is an A-26, sickening watching the sparks flying off the nose.

Oh no, I hope not!
