I am Italian, from Rome and when I was a child MOTU were my favorite toys, because of their design, beautiful artwork on the boxes and the cartoon series. Seeing this project of yours come to life and listening to the motivations that inspired you takes me back in time, when I made Webstor climb the tree we had in the garden, or I made Fisto fight Jitsu and obviously He-Man against Skeletor riding Battlecat and Panthor. I recently rediscovered my passion for MOTU and I'm buying some characters from the Origins line with the various vehicles, and I have to say that it's giving me a lot of satisfaction. I hope to see your project realized with animatronics, perhaps in a gigantic diorama, as if it were a battlefield like in the illustrations of the past. It would be nice to see more videos like this of the works in progress, because they are really interesting to me.
I can't wait to hear more about this! Seeing trap jaw, stinkor and the slime pit etc. is so amazing! Greyskull is going to be massive! I hope you get your license as I would love to own some of these in the future for sure!
Toy Federation sent me. Best of luck on your journey with this project. I found the story about the Fisto from your father to be very touching. Looking forward to future updates. My unsolicited advice: Don't let people chirp and try to dictate the pace and priorities. Whatever you show up with in November will be terrific and a great accomplishment. Just keep trusting your gut.
I saw you in Toy Federation's channel, you did an incredible work, I am 47 now and this make me come back to my childhood with my favourite toys, congratulations and thank you.
I've been waiting for this since i saw the original Toy Federation video, what an awesome job you've done! Is there any possibility that you will make the stl files available? I would love to print these myself!
@@TrueLegacyDesign you could do what other folks are doing and sell the STL's to raise funds to continue. I bought some STL's of Transformer statues that I could print on my resin printer. Obviously we cannot sell them, but I can print them for my son's room. I am looking to get an Anycubic M3 Max. Huge 13.6" build plate and auto-refilling resin tray. I just have a photon now.
Ramen toy vibes, you could call the toyline 'Bosses of the Galaxy'. If they are licensed its cool, otherwise it doesnt sit well with me, everyone needs to pay the piper.
Why not go back to the original blueprints and build up from there, i'm sure the original hasbro line has the original concept guidlines from where they built the original toy line from, it would add street cred bare minimum
Thankfully we don’t have too much dust in the shop. We get the 3D prints from our printer and do some fine tuning on the sanding. You’ll get to see that process next week!
That's so cool...keep going! Best regards from germany. I would visit USA just to see this live. Thanks PixelDan that he has showed this on his channel.
I was thinking, if they brought this to Grayskull Con in the future I'd actually go there for once. But it would be kinda insane to pull of, what with all the customs hassles and the habit of airlines destroying precious stuff they're supposed to protect on the daily.
Amazing stuff. This is a real passion project and it's fantastic to see this behind-the-scenes look! Really great to see how this awesome display is being created. I can't wait to check out the final scene, it will be more than epic! Congratulations on realising this concept and good luck with the final stages of production. Very very cool indeed. 👍🐵
@@TrueLegacyDesign unfortunately I'm in the UK so I won't be able to see it in person, but am very much looking forward to seeing it on your channel or other people's channels! I've hit the bell for your channel so I can keep up to date with the progress. Congratulations again, you're doing the Lord's work there sir. 👍🙏🐵
@@TrueLegacyDesign I have had the opportunity to see some of the original oil paintings in person, and they are truly stunning. I love motu because of the art.
@@TrueLegacyDesign I was a toy design intern just this past summer. After graduation I will be a toy designer full time at Mattel. They have several oil paintings hung up on the wall, even some that were never actually used on packaging. They also have a lot of the original animation cells hung up too. It is definitely surreal being such a huge motu fan, and getting to see Mattel’s archive!
Seconded! They could make 2-part silicone molds of each part and then cast them with a liquid plastic resin. More durability and a wider variety of colors if you dye it
Teenage mutant ninja turtle tube behind the camera again, pretty confident of this. This is awesome. when i saw the video of him first buying these i thought, he might do this.then the follow up, wow, he’s actually moving forward. now this…wow.
I wonder if we’re all 240% bigger from when we were kids looking at the originals? I think the size does make one stop to appreciate the designs more. Awesome to see you bringing your vision to life and sharing the love of the art of the series with others. Plus like you said in the video it will no doubt make old fans go out onto the floor of the con and get their favorite. So you’ll be helping the vendors a lot too.
Now when we look at this work, we bring our experience to it; the experience redefines the innocence; knowledge of art marries knowledge of life and our rediscovery of that which we initially had fallen in love with: toy art as our first brush with ART, as a gateway to the way design, and now a look in a figure's eye can appear more specific; you are handing back to people that initial brush with the infinite. "This stuff spoke to us." It IS powerful. These totems trace the loss of innocence, and once that innocence is gone, an elegance has gone missing, so there is power in recapturing those emotions in a deep way.
Oh my goodness! I’m watching this video and all the videos that you’ve posted so far & I tell you my friend I’m beyond happy. The wonderful labor of love that you’re doing with, what I consider to be THE BEST toy line in the universe, He Man & MOTU, is beyond our wildest dreams. You Sir are a genius. If there’s something that I love more than Motu, it’s giant Motu action figures. You are doing a masterful job with these, enhanced and true to the vintage figures look, action figures. I’m in awe with this. What you told our dear friend and my toy collecting mentor Pixel Dan is a testament of how much of a great person you really are. To me as with many kids from the 1980s that played with the iconic MOTU toy line and collect them, this is a time to rejoice. Pixel Dan and you have made it possible for us collectors to get connected with other like minded fellows and really talk about what it is that we love about the toys and which action figure has a sentimental value for us as well as which one we acquired first, with which action figure we started our collections and so on. Thank you so much for what you’re doing to continue making the Motu toy line as popular as it is today as it was 30 plus years ago. MOTU forever! We still have the power!!☺️👍🏻
I think you and toy federation have something great going for the toy community, definitely keeps me watching. Amazing job guys! Keep it up and I’m always watching and interested.
Wow! This is simply amazing! Heman and the Masters of the universe is my favorite toyline, growing up in the 80s. And seeing the original vintage figures getting blown up in size is mindblowing! And hey, I really do hope you could work out some deal with Mattel to grant you some sort of permit or licensing to produce these guys in this giant scale that you're doing now so that people could actually buy it from you.
This is really amazing what you are doing here i really hope you get the licence to sell this stuff. You had a vision with a big passion and you went with it best of luck buddy. If you don't get the licence for masters of the universe im sure there will be others that will want this dream with you
@@TrueLegacyDesign I saw that first video and I couldn't believe this is what came of that..Put the museum(s) at Toy Fed when they expand! Epic Merger!
Would be cool if you guys get a license. I can think of at least three figures I would want to buy. It would be even cooler if they also came with a comic.
I was into the original Star Wars figures, Planet of the Apes figures, the Six Million Dollar Man, the Evel Knievel stunt cycle, Stretch Armstrong, and a few others. The Masters of the Universe came out when I was a little older and wasn't really playing with toys anymore. By then it was BMX bikes and then girls. When MOTU came out all of the Star Wars and GI Joe figures bulked up as well, which most people didn't like. Which is why "The Power of the Force" figure are mocked and have low value these days. It was also when action stars in movies (like Sly and Arnold) were all bulked up.
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in Hercules in New York 1970, Sylvester Stallone starred in Rocky 1976. Those were their first starring rolls in Action 🎥 🎥.
