Giant Idiots Vs Super Geniuses in Worldbox 

Yeah I've been wanting either a mod or a patch that improves on the wars strategies. Cities shouldn't be converted if their army is still alive, it looks stupid how their army is fighting in an entire different continent and suddenly they are converted and stop fighting. But this would create a problem of the enemy army can't capture a city because their army is in a far away place so they're just forced to destroy it. To avoid this it would be cool if each city had a garrison army and an offensive army. Enemies can only capture a city if the garrison is defeated, but the offensive army continues fighting to the end even after their city has been captured, this allows for the city to be recaptured if their offensive army is near to kill the remaining soldiers.

@@greenin5537 In real life if you capture the capital, it's also a headshot, most armies will stop fighting if they don't get food, supplies and ammunition. Most of the times however armies don't leave the capital unguarded.

Numbers always will win. Both in games and real life. Technology can be stolen, but the number of bodies to sacrifice will lead the day. The big decision makers are supply lines.

Assuming roughly equal equipment yes, but a sufficient tech advantage can minimise the advantage of numbers. ie a big enough ranged army versus a melee or more limited ranged capable army with minimal armour you're going to struggle with a 10:1 advantage realistically since a single arrow can be a kill. My cousins unfortunately did just that sort of crap in Africa, early machine guns vs even larger tribal confederations were a massacre.

Seems like it, more efficient use of land prevented the excess threshold being hit. We sort of see this in real life, you hit a certain point in development and then stall because there aren't external factors pushing progress any longer. It's depressingly why wars are when a lot of foundation tech is developed as a threat constitutes a need to innovate.
