It's been 29 years since the disaster at Jurassic Park, but things have gotten much worse. Now, dinosaurs have escaped to the mainland, and giant Locusts are eating the food supply? It's time to get the old gang back together, including our favorite friends Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Alan Grant (Sam Neill).

Kids today will never understand what it was like when the original Jurassic Park first came out. It was truly special.

The original JP is one of my favorite films, it defined a genre and changed how we think of dinosaurs. The special effects were ground breaking at the time, but really the story and composition of the scenes was just masterfully done. John Williams score completed the package.

Alot of people complained about the Locusts being the main issues of the Film, but it grant it they are, but they played a huge part in the Franchise's Lore and Future. It shows that not just the Dinosaurs can be brought back from extinction, but anything can be brought back and play a huge conflict in future installments. But they also play into the whole statement of the Film's title, Dominion. Biosyn, Lewis Dodgson, is trying to control the food supplies around the world to sell their products (Biosyn Seeds) and make themselves look like the "good guys". Edit: But I do believe the whole Locust plot was its own separate story and not psrt of the "finale", it should have just been focused on the Dinosaurs and Biosyn.

It took me a bit, but if you really think about it, the genetic technology established in this franchise’s universe doesn’t necessarily have to be restricted to only de-extinct Mesozoic-era animals. Sad but true. Plus, even tho the locust menace is the main plot, the dinosaurs are still in most of the movie. But no, aparently trying something original for once in this franchise instead of doing a generic B movie of dinosaurs invanding cities. Seriuosly, there are a lot of low budget movies with that plot and all of them are trash, with awful effects , STUPID CHARACTERS, an absurd plot and dinosaurs that act like video game minions instead of actual animals. Trevorrow at least try something diferent and original, and I can respect someone who at least tried and fail over people who give trash content over and over without putting any effort in their movies.
@christopherstanley4837
@christopherstanley4837 Год назад
@@alexbellon1892 Agree with your post. But TO BE FAIR, a dino city invasion CAN be done well, the reason those plots didn't work in the B movies is lack of budget and lack of inspiration or heart. Like, many B movies are trash because the people making them don't really care about making them, not because their chosen plot lines can't be done well. And honestly, a minor change, and this film COULD have included a city invasion scenario. All the script would need to have done is set Biosyn in a city/town thats next to the dino jungle. And when the lab locusts burst from the lab and destroyed the dino signal barrier keeping them contained, bam: City invasion.

Yeah I don't know who picked the direction of this film but it doesn't really mesh well with the others in JW trilogy. The films built up hybrids as being the next thing, the I-Rex and I-Rapter, only for hybrid locusts instead of continuing to tweak the Indo form. Then the film really toned down the dino deaths to meaningless fodder and laughs, non really stick out. Then the dinosaurs are given a good and bad guy archetype, not acting like animals. And this doesn't even cover all the call backs, one after another. I was stoked for this movie, but was supremely let down.

I've warmed to the locusts as time has gone on - partly because any prehistoric animal could feature in this franchise and it'd be just as valid (and Dimetrodon and Lystrosaurus had appeared in this film and Smilodon had appeared in Camp Cretaceous) and partly because the bugs knew how to make an entrance... It took me a bit, but if you really think about it, the genetic technology established in this franchise’s universe doesn’t necessarily have to be restricted to only de-extinct Mesozoic-era animals. OTHER animals can be affected by this genetic power as well. Plus it's more faithful and accurate to the scientific and animalistic side of the books that inspired the creation of the Jurassic saga to begin with, after all. Both the 1st and 2nd novels before Michael's passing. But I do believe the whole Locust plot was its own separate story and not part of the "finale", it should have just been focused on the Dinosaurs and Biosyn.

This movie brought back the vibes of the first film. Both Alan and Ellie are professionals in their respective fields, you would not bring them back just for some action. This is why the film was broken into two groups. The first film had a few discussions but the book went further with the data and more dialogue from the characters. The two complaints I always had are: 1. Ellie and Alan were not romantic partners in the book. 2. I feel like Malcolm's character is slightly misunderstood but they got they got most of it right. Also, I am glad that they remembered that Dodgson is a controversial scientist.
