Another week, another episode of Doctor Who! This week's offering, "Dot and Bubble", seems to be a horror tale wrapped in some social media commentary. Everyone's living in their own bubble, and nobody moreso than the citizens of Finetime. The world seems happy and harmonious, but there's something monstrous preying on the citizens. It's a race against time for the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby (Millie Gibson)! Can they beat the algorithm and make the people see the truth before it's too late?

It’s kinda obvious where we’re going with this, a sci-fi analogy for people lost in their own media bubble, but with more futuristic augmented reality. I have pondered the same thing, like if everyone in the future gets used to reality being adjusted around them to fit their own personal ideals, then how could we all agree on what’s real?

Hope this is a darned sight better that all the previous episodes which are on the whole, pretty awful. 73 yards stood out for me as ok mainly because there was virtually no hammy acting from Gatwa.

RTD did state when he returned to the TARDIS... that he would be writing/producing/filming from a different perspective. You call it Doctor-lite... I think this is the new format. More Focus on the place, people, situation, and less focus ... LESS Doctor-centric. Dot and Bubble is a piss take of the people in echo chambers all screaming for help for attention... Social Media World filled with Young 'Karen' and 'Ken' people (something those in yankland Get). Same with the Babies episode.... again a yankland psychology episode... aimed at the amounts the yanks spend in Healthcare4Profit just to HAVE a baby... but then do not care what happens to them in life ... many 3% end up in the yank's Prison4Profit facilities!
