If its running lean, you could have an intake leak thats pulling in unmeasured air. even a small hole can cause pre-detonation

Hi kev for the engine going lean it usually means you didn’t prime it enough so fuel wasn’t flowing but I could be wrong love your vids keep it up

For it going lean check the seals on the pipe and make sure the cap on the fuel tank is not pinching an o ring but it could of been the tune from it getting hot

2 things that would be awesome to see kev- (actualy 3) 1- baja sbk build full Taylor treatment. 2- baja sbk speed run build electric 3- I cant believe yoy haven't got a tekno mt410. i had the same overheating issue, and after several conversations with taylor rc, we solved the issue. the carb was getting too hot and vaporising the fuel in the lines. solution was to fit the 8mm isolator block from taylor rc, in addition to the stock one, (longer bolts needed), and problem was solved, now its a demon on steroids lol keep up the good work pal, you rock 🤘🤘🤘

I have been wanting a Losi 5IVE-T for forever, but I am never able to afford it or find people to get into a hobby with it. If your engine starts to run lean there might be an air leak somewhere downstream of the carb, check the bolts are tight and seal everything with just a slight smear of Hylomar blue on the gaskets.

Hey Kev those little engines usually you want to run them through a full tank of gas idling Sometimes if you don't do that the cylinder will actually blow out

My mate had one of these losis they're great fun and really good to have a play around but he broke it and never managed to fix it again but seeing your one in a state 10 tomes as worse and then u managing to put it back together like brand spanking new is just absolutely shocking just goes to show that if you put the effort and skills you can turn a a peice of trash into a solid peice of gold keep the great effort up 👍

Sounds like the air filter got wet and that's why it died out. They should make a dust/water cover for it to keep water out.

I suspect the air filter got water logged, was a fairly common thing when I had one in wet conditions. The air filter is directly in line of fire from all of the crap from the front wheel. An outerwears cover should help a bit.

Check the spark plug on it, may have fouled it. Potentially mixed the fuel a bit to rich. Or also with the cold weather sometimes could need re jetting. 👍

Kev you should try doing a brushless converted losi 5t and run the max4 combo with or maybe dual max4

Bogging on the 2 stroke is either fuel vacuum issues or your tune. As the car warms and as you take it out in diff weather conditions the tune needs adjusting. Colder air needs more fuel.
