This company was formed around the question: "What would you do if you were a giant?". There are as many answers to that question as there are humans on the planet. Our goal is to develop technology that leverages human skill and creativity to allow people to solve problems and explore new frontiers in ways that have not been possible before.
We invite you to join us on this journey.

Thanks for the kind words my friend. They keep the fire buning🔥 It's easy. Here are the steps: 1) Start with a vision for what you want. 2) Learn the skills. For me it was a mechanical engineering degree and buying my own TIG welder. 3) Make things. Break things. 4) Build a community. Attract people that are equally stoked about your vision. 5) Sacrifice everything else for 10-15 years. Relationships, recreation, financial security, other career paths. Everything. And voila! A mech is born! What's your vision? -Jonathan

@@jtippett honestly, I dont know what happened with the videos teaching famous sports and youtube personalities, but I would try to build up a back log of these videos. I'd get them to hold off on releasing any footage until you have a set amount done, then have them release them along with a Kickstarter type push. maybe give out 3d printed minis of the mech and tees for goals or something. You want as many people seeing as many pilots as possible running this thing in as short a period as possible. You are basically a tech company trying to make entertainment videos for profit. I'd consult the hacksmith team with the best ways to raise money doing this. Good luck. you have a lot of people rooting for you.

This is obviously awesome, but just how practical? It certainly looks like it has the dexterity and power to do alot of heavy machinery jobs. But more or so a jack of all trades sort of deal. Which is the ideal end goal for a mech, more or less all-purpose machinery. But the current iterations feels too limited to do any task well. Jack of all trades, ace of none. And I imagine the price is ridiculous, it doesn't quite have a market yet, so production costs must be through the roof. Those factors really dont lend well to it having market competition with other basic equipment that can do the same thing. Such as a forklift, tow truck, or ATV. What it really has going for it is the legs. But the current movement is way to simple and unspecific. It just kind of throws them forward and backwards, not offering fine control. Which is exactly what you would want from a mech. In circumstances where this is actually better than conventional vehicles. Such as marshlands, deserts, snowy tundras, brushlands, and forests, it lacks the motor advantage because of the poor leg build. It just seems designed in such a way that anything it can do, a vehicle can already do, and some can do it better. This I can excuse because its a prototype, and doesnt seem anywhere near completion. But assuming it does have better legs, and potentially some sort of multipurpose boom to give it true useability. In the best places for it to be used, the buggy-like rollcage makes it hazardous. If your in a forest, chances are this monster is going to knock around some trees and fell some loose limbs. That can easy fall straight onto the pilot. Or in a desert, sand can just fly straight into the pilots face. And if the mech finds unexpectedly loose soil and falls through, instead of having a safe pod to sit in until your freed, youll be buried with it. It just feels halfway to an actual great, useful machine. If it had better legs that allowed a huge range of motion, with fine control. And better forms of manipulation, instead of tusks. Like an all purpose connector that allows bucket attachments, arm attachments, forklift attachments, etc. it would be potentially worth investing in. As for sports, I feel the more practical it becomes, the less interesting it will be to see fight. This version looks like its meant to battle. But because of how lax the safety is around the pilots pod, chances are if two mechs charge at each other, their tusks are just going to impale the pilots. I feel theres certainly potential in a sport of mech fighting. But it would need to be side business grown off success of practical mechs, before it can become its own full fledged endeavor.
@jtippett
@jtippett 2 года назад
Paul that is indeed an impressive and comprehensive analysis. You are right on point with pretty much all of your suggestions. I'm not quite sure what your definition of "a fully fledged endeavor" is but our company has been around for 5 years. We built what could arguably be called the world's first real, legitimate mech (earning a Guinness World Record in the process) and have been field testing it for 4 years, so we're feeling pretty "fully fledged". Leveraging what we have learned is the next stage. We are now turning our attention to raising money to build the next generation mech based on the raft of insights and data we have gained from years in the field and in the pilot seat. The next machine will again have a focus on sport, but in that context we will be incubating the technology and evaluating its suitability for the practical applications that come to mind ( search and rescue, disaster response, agriculture, forestry, construction etc.). As you say, versatility is its strength rather than any one specific application. This is the inception of a new class of vehicle in human history. There will be some twists and turns to the evolution...but all pioneering efforts require tenacity and vision. Hopefully you'll join us for the ride!
@CurtisPerrin88
@CurtisPerrin88 2 года назад
Great comment. We are working on it. We're a small team with a big machine. re: fighting it definitely wasn't designed for combat. Not like Megabots at all in that regard. In fact Jon didn't even want it to fall over when it was first built. Definitely have a more enclosed pilot pod in mind for future designs. Both for safety and for climate control (rain, heat, cold, mud, etc.)
