Michael Lombardi got to work for some of the smartest people to ever be around football. His record as GM? 4-12. Eleumenor is the best o lineman? You know Andrew Thomas exists right? So tired of this guy acting like he's the smartest guy ever. Schoen has gotten a LOT WRONG. Letting Saquon walk is not one of them. We've been terrible. Paying 14 mil for a RB would set us back another year.

Barkley was the face of the franchise, but his injuries were a concern. Schoen had a number and Philly beat! He moved on! I trust what Schoen is doing.

If I was an owner and I told my guy this and he is telling me false information whether its cause he's incompetent or has another goal, I would fired him the moment Eagles signed him. How does Joe not know what's going on with their best/popular player. SMH.

As a former athlete in hockey, I disagree here, respectfully. The GM, has the right, to consult with the owner and outline a conversation that states we no longer see you as our asset, you will be entering free agency, but no offer will come in to match you. The GM & Owner, had a completely different message to him. They did not want to insult him by offering $12M over 3 years & it would have also made the PR look bad considering he’s carried the team offensively since being drafted. With that said, they were not about to pay $15M a season not knowing if he was worth that risk, in the market. He’s already above 27 years old, and running backs break down in the knees and synovial fluid begins to decline which is what lubricants the joints naturally so you are mobile and less prone to injury and arthritis. Their entire franchise rests on keeping Daniel’s safe from injury. They have $40M a season tied to him… so now they have to cut ties with their running back, to spend on protecting the front line QB.

I think it was handled professionally. It’s a contract negotiation and they got outbid. They didn’t disrespect Barkley they let him go into the open market

Lombardi is reaching. As a life-long Giants fan and a Barkley fan, signing him for that price just didn't make sense. We have way too many holes to spend 13 mill a season on a RB. Our offensive line is so poor, signing a high paid RB right now is like buying a speed boat and you live in Las Vegas.

I love Saquon but as a Giants fan I got tired of him being arm tackled, not being able to shake 1 defender, constantly failing to pick up must have 2 yards, and inability to pick up a blitz. When he had Eli and O'Dell, he was elite... but after the injury he just never got back to being great. Eagles are a better team and probably a better match. I am excited to see him with a better offense... but I'm not scared if the Eagles having him.

What really screwed the Giants was overachieving in 2022 and winning a playoff game. If they cut loose from Jones and Barkley then, fans go crazy. They felt stuck and probably thought that getting more talent for Jones (Waller) and another season with Daboll, they would be better. Jones gets hurt, Waller was a bad trade. Same thing happened with the Bills in 2017, they tried to suck, but overachieved with Tyrod Taylor - luckily they figured out a way to get down to the 7th pick to get Allen in 2018. That’s the difference in when the Bills pivoted and the Giants didn’t. The Bills knew the limitations of Taylor and the Giants knew that of Jones as well. They shouldn’t have re-signed Jones - Knowing the ‘24 draft was filled with QBs, and not taking one, screwed them again. They now have Jones without Barkley. They messed up. They’re trying to win now and will probably win 8-9 games and be stuck with a middle range 1st rd pick. I understand how they got into this dilemma - just don’t think they know how to get out of it.
