Adoree was played out of position and took one for the team. His decision to do so impacted how he was viewed as a player, some thinking he fell off. No, HE WAS OUT OF POSITION. Play a C at RT and see how we fare. He’s easily a number 2 here. He has familiarity with the organization and will want to prove himself on the outside. Also he hasn’t played (I’m sure he’s training though), so he should be healthy. He just has to get into football shape. Solid move. Wish we made it sooner. Oh AND pick up Farley. What does it hurt?

low ceiling low risk here. He is a good dude and likes being here. I think he was a bad fit for where we had him playing under winks system. I think this upgrades our depth a little. I also do not think this upgrades #2 i just think it helps the depth and risk. if it was me I would ALSO sign the Texans CB we have discussed and put Flott on the practice squad. I don't want to give up on Flott but quad injury + WIP = practice squad. And we desperately need a capable Swing tackle backup for the Oline. if we do those 2 things, I think we are in as good of a position as we can be. GO GIANTS! Who plays vs vikings will be determined by who has the best practice in the week leading up. But I would bet on a mix of Hawkins., McCloud and maybe just a few snaps for Adoree

This seems like a very solid move. We should hope that Adoree has a better season like the one he had with the first year of Joe Shane and Brian Dayball. Hopefully he can reclaim some of that magic that he used to wipe out Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota playoff game, a couple of years ago in that season he was a lock down corner for us with not a lot of talent around him.

While I have some optimism for the season for more competent football in 2024 the sour taste of 40-0 after 4 quarters and 60-0 after 6 quarters in 2023 is still in my mouth. While I like the OL additions, OL coach, a FB, a strong blocking tight end, running back by committee, Nabors, Tracey, Johnson, a healthy Gano, Daboll calling plays, Nubin, Banks, overall pass rush all gives me hope. I need to see Jones show he is at least a mid level QB with these improvements, I need to see the secondary not get toasted, I need to see the defense bend but not break. I need to see good, sound football without a player going down to injury so often. Until I see that I remember the sour taste so I am in the "I will believe when I see it" camp. Go GMEN.

Jackson will give you the same production as corner claimed off the wavier wire would have done, there is a reason he hasn’t been signed by any other teams during the offseason. But he has proven in the past he can be a great player in the league, hopefully the new defense plays to his upside and we see some growth out of the defensive backfield this season with him continuing to help out our young cornerbackroom

Immediate upgrade over McCloud and Flott on the outside, and a veteran presence in a young secondary that needs one.

Shane Bowens system is a lot like Patrick Grahams' defensive system so I am confident Adoree will be a good fit. I am also confident that he will look much better this year than last year because he will be playing outside where is was great in Grahams system. In Grahams' system and playing outside Adoree put up elite numbers in coverage. I think Banks and Jackson outside with Dru Phillips in the nickel and Nubin and Pinnock at the Safeties positions is a defensive backfield I feel much better about. Adoree on the outside has put up elite converage numbers in 2021 and 2022. The dropoff in 2023 I think was due to the move to the slot and the system issues like @Anthony pointed out. That being said I believe Jackson is an above average CB2 option from day 1. If Banks can make the 2nd year jump to become a bonafied CB1 shutdown CB type that can cover the other teams WR1s the defense should be very good this year.

In a zone heavy defense, a track athlete like adoree will undercut some balls and get some picks. He's not a slot guy. He'll be a significant upgrade on the boundary in my opinion.

We complained that Wink had KT drop into coverage 85x. BUT, Bowen had Harold Landry drop back 89x! So that aspect is not changing much. I do agree Winks D did not work. No points for turnovers. Still gave up too many points.

I figured they would have done that a month ago. With a new DC, Jackson has a bunch of studying to do. Well he is better than any other CB2 in the Giants reach ATM.

Jackson played great for us in 22 on the outside. Our defense was way better with him on the field.

I've been advocating this for months. Is it a perfect solution? No, but assuming Jackson is more engaged than he seemed to be much of last year (and while this is unknowable ATM, he probably will be or his career is pretty much finished at 28) he is still a huge upgrade over Flott and McCloud. It sound like this will happen unless Jackson's contract asks are way out of line.

I think when YA Tittle came over the Giants unretired the #14 that was retired for Ward Cuff for Tittle. Difference is Cuff was alive at the time and he gave the ok for Tittle to wear his number. Now the number is retired twice with the Giants now once for each player.

Hate how fans Downplay Jackson like Banks is the All Pro Caliber type player lol

We need to bring Adobe Jackson back He's a solid veteran and he played very well against Jefferson in the playoffs he has experience he gives up plays but he also make plays as well

I'm glad Hodgins is back on the practice squad and hope Adoree rejoins the fold. I don't expect them to be champions but I think this team isn't nearly as bad as some say. Time will tell.

What are your guys thoughts on the Duke Shelley signing to the practice squad, he was solid on the outside when he played in Minnesota. But every other year he’s played he’s been in the slot and not been very good. Any upside here or just a practice squad body?

Adoree is a pro so I think he will play like a pro

Flott hurt, Trey needs to step up, and i know Phillips is supposed to be in the slot and i think long term he can be very effective there, but can he play outside too? McCloud is not making strides and he really is a liability. In the 2022 season every significant third and long or similar situations, other teams really attacked him with way too much success. Having AJ at least gives us a chance.

Any cornerback help is needed but I’m not sure. ???

I think Adoree has some good playing time left in him. Last year was a rollercoaster for a bunch of guys in the secondary b/c our pass rush didn't get home. Our defense would have struggled more if they hadn't been able to create turnovers.

I prefer Adoree Jackson over Gilmore... I dont think we're winning much this year and I certainly dont see a deep run in the playoffs. At best Gilmore might help us get 2-3 more wins than Jackson but those 2-3 games might be the difference between a QB in this draft or being outside of the top picks like we were last year. It's not like we'd get Gilmore for more than this year so to me itd be the difference between a 5 win season and a 7 win season
