Their life was the American dream, torn by a single bullet, which would make who Gibbs of NCIS is today.
Despite his attempts to have a family ever after, he has never forgotten them.

I've seen these moments on my fav show, NCIS, over and over on DVD. The end of "Heartland", the end of "Under Covers", "Hiatus", and "Requium" still get to me. It's bizarre, because I can't remember the last time anything real got me as choked up as these moments. Semper Fi, Gunny.

@wearetheworld2008 I think he wouldn't have joined NCIS. He may have stayed in the Marine Corp until retirement, living with his family, growing old with Shannon, watching Kelly grow up.

It was shown in a later episode what would've happened if he stayed in the Marine Corps. Yes, he would've been killed, in what war it is unknown.

What actually happened to kelly & shanon.yes!i know they both were killed.but it is a robbery or what?it is in any season and series?

Shannon was testifying against a drug dealer/killer named Pedro Hernandez and he came after her and killed her and Kelly.
