At first you come for the guitar, and you stay listening for the music. Hard to explain how different it is from every other guitar players. A magical touch of he's own.
You are one of my favorite acoustic players. You play with feeling that can't be taught. God bless you and keep you safe and happy. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
Absolutely beautiful playing. Thank you for sharing your music on this amazing instrument. I was searching for videos tonight to see if the LG-2 was the right sound for me and I came across you. Perfect music for this guitar. I think I'm going to settle on the LG-2 for my next guitar. I can't wait. :)
I just bought a Gibson 50's LG-2 guitar, now I must learn this lovely tune, which seems suited to this guitar's tonal characteristics. Very nicely played.
I really enjoy your playing JoiL, it really inspires me. I hope someday I can have half your skill and style. P.s. you’re the reason I got my first J45! Thanks again, and god bless
How do you like it? I bought one 3 months ago, and I haven't touched my other guitars since. The sustain alone is just amazing, not to mention the tone
@@abartonjr1 for me…holy grail guitar for sure! Fits my 5’8” frame like a glove and the sound is amazing. Of course I had to change out the tuners for some Schaller ivoroid open gears cause I’m spoiled 😜
Dear joil i’ve been hearing you for years and it’s always a pleaseure (a bit frustrating maybe but still a pleasure😂). I’m in the market between this and the taylor ad12… any suggestions? Thanks for the reply e for your music!
hi! thank for telling:) those two guitars are very different for my self , i would go for the lg2 i think it is more soulful and expressive than the ad12 i think ad12 is more caricaturistic by the way
@@JoiLTV I fully agree with your opinion on these two guitars. I tried the Taylor for a while. It's a nice guitar but my Gibson LG 2 has so much more character and a soul . By the way. Your guitar playing is very inspiring. I will practice more. I already practice everyday but, now I want to get more accurate like you.
I came back to subscribe to your channel. I hope you'll take a listen to mine as well. I'm a songwriter and performed on the road for 25 plus years all over the US as a human jukebox/one man show. These days I'm just taking a break from performance and writing all the time. Thanks again JoiL! I look forward to hearing more from you. Peace....Rod
@@nathanalane2674 vintage guitars often comes with wooden nuts , mostly ebony is used. they are weaker than bone nuts , but they are not too fragile to use. mahogany is a bit more weaker than ebony and the gives more shorter sustain and softer sounds
Good guitar player but not a good content creator because he has nearly nothing to say to the viewers! He doesn't answer any questions and he shows us nothing! He's clearly in it for himself! I learned all three songs he played on the Gibson Songwriter video just by watching, but some of you can't and he gives no help!
I respectfully disagree. He shows us how particular guitars sound when they are played with soul and skill. He makes no claims of being a teacher, and no, he does not tutor - but his playing points the way to one's own discoveries on a guitar, it highlights possibilities and potential, and that is quite enough. I defy you to name ANYONE who plays guitar like this, meditative, bare fingered and clearly locking into the ephemeral moment of making music, who ISN'T in it for him or herself. Playing guitar like this is a transcendant experience, a moment of being utterly and purely in the moment, and while recordings may be the product, the act of making those sounds on this instrument in that instant is the real, true goal. JoiL hits that mark - and THAT is the true lesson.
