That was just amazing. His voice and ease of playing is so familiar. I feel like a kid again. Funny, we tend to focus on artists that have passed but we need to appreciate someone like Joe that is just as bad ass as when he was young! God bless you Joe!
Very true! Just watched a video that had a bunch of famous guitar players on it. Someone commented that Dave Mustaine was the best out of the group...the last player was Joe Walsh.... Now I love Dave...but better than Joe Walsh...? Faster yes...better...no way!
I think whomever invented the phrase "Joe Cool" was thinking about Joe Walsh when they came up with it. There's just not a cooler cat in the music business than this guy. Thanks, Joe. All of us guitar wannabees would love to have half your talent and half of your tone and we appreciate you giving back like you do. Learned a lot here and enjoyed every friggin second of it.
He would make a great guitar teacher, friendly and looks like he would enjoy showing a novice how to play the guitar. Always liked Joe Walsh, great character.
Just saw Walsh opening for Tom Petty a few weeks ago. Walsh' set was worth the price of admission. Maximum musical pleasure, such a sweet guy. He's so down to earth. Thanks Joe for all the great music and keeping it real.
Wow... Forty years of playing and I get to see one of my favorite music writers share some tips and learned more in 30 minutes then a week of straight playing. Thanks and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I really liked the Jimmy Page trick in the other video I have been wondering how he got that sound.
Joe always looks like hes having great fun when hes playing, anyone learning or improving should study Joe Walsh in the hope that his infectious love of playing guitar might brush off on them ...
Only Joe Walsh can kill playing slide on Amazing Grace. fantastic!!!! he is absolutely right when he said he has the very lightest touch. because that guitar was set at normal action. and usually a person has to raise the action a lot to play slide. and it was so AWESOME that he thanked Gibson. and the main man Les Paul. the man that did more in the world of the guitar than anyone else no doubt. Joe Walsh and Les Paul have something in common. they are legends among legends. R.I.P. Les Paul thank you so much Joe Walsh.

Holy shit what an awesome video, the hair on my arms stood up when Joe started singing, I am a guitar player and every time I hear Joe break out an iconic solo or just give us some wisdom, it is a special thing, his sweet touch and his passion shines through to us all and he is not stingy to give it to us, I love you Joe and I thank you for doing what you do and of course, for what you did, every note you play means a lot to me.
Joe must be one of the coolest guys in music. And everything he does seems to come straight from the heart - touching the hearts of others. It's never chops for chops' sake. He also seems to take himself not too darn seriously... love 'im big times!
Love the fact that Joe is a middle finger slide player. I'm a middle finger slide player and always felt like I was the odd one out. The other ones that I can think about who use the middle finger are Bonnie Raitt and Brett Garsed.
I play slide with my middle finger because of Joe. I was pretty much raised on the Eagles, so I picked up a lot of what I know from watching guitarists like Joe Walsh and Don Felder.
Ah, what a great seminar. Just come back to Joe in my guitar wanderings w a new appreciation and respect for the music they made then, and are capable of probably making now if they ever applied themselves as such again. And of course I'm talking about the James Gang and Eagles, as well as some of Joes other works solo. It was nice to have Joe do it as he's a seemingly real personable guy. I grew up kind of close by where Joe is from,,I think Joe is from around Kent state area in N.E. Ohio originally,,Kent, Ravena,,Akron, I don't know exactly, I'm about 40 min. East, Youngstown, but , so he's like a guitar brother ya know. Knowledgeable guy, and no, I never had anyone show me how to set up a guitar, that was with great detail, I think I paid more attention because Joe presented it of course. Great player he is, was relearning hotel California , ah those solos and fills just 'taste so good' ya know, nice feel, flow, great song to play. Hope Joe plays Ohio one more time closeby, hopefully
Well...This retch (sorta saved) has always loved Joe ever since the time saw The James Gang open for Santana at a place called The Fillmore East...Rock On Joe.
