I hope you love my zero waste gift wrapping examples!
The only thing I really need to add is to make sure you chose a paper tape instead of plastic. I often use things I find in dumpsters so that I don't eve have to buy the more eco-friendly version of a product but if you have to buy new, go with paper (:
My examples are from eco friendly and compostable wrapped toilet paper and a reusable t-shirt.

Shelbizleee please let me know if you ever find destroyed clothes again, if you don't use them I would be happy to pay shipping for you to mail some to me and I'll use them to make reusable bags or blankets! I'm sure there are others who would do the same, many people out there use thrifted or old clothes to make reusable items! I love your wrapping paper idea, I use reusable grocery bags or if I don't have any I use the funny papers aka comics from the newspaper to wrap my gifts! I also like resusable bags as an option for gift giving :)

I love using fabric bags for gifts. It's been a couple years, and my kids don't seem to miss the paper (they get plenty of wasteful wrapping at my parents' house). I just used old t-shirts and other fabric to make drawstring style bags. They're not the prettiest, but they do the job. I'm on the lookout for some thrifted holiday tablecloths or fabric, which will be great for making more festive bags. Merry Christmas! :)

What I like using to give gifts anytime throughout the year is to cut up old clothes and sew them into cute little gift bags. This year I started knitting them and it's totally reusable and it's so cute.

I totally know that feeling, it goes away after a few years LOL. But something I found that really helped was genuinely asking everyone who had something to say about it, "why don't you care?" It shuts people up pretty quick (;

I like to use the brown paper grocery bags. They are super sturdy and plain enough to dress up and still look simple :) I really enjoyed the bow tutorial! Made that shit look so easy that even I can figure it out!

If you have a small gift like jewelry, you can put it in a toilet roll/ kitchen roll tubes can be pushed in at the ends for a little box :)

Ive always tended to use gift bags instead of paper bc people tend to reuse bags instead of paper more, but I love the idea of reusing other things! I guess I've never really thought about it, I'm rather new to the zero waste thing.

Wow, those toilet paper people are seriously good! I'd iron the paper too, that can make it look new. I like making fabric bags, so people can re-use them. I sew anyway so I have plenty of scrap fabric. I love the ancient Japanese furoshiki idea of fabric wrapping, they knew about this centuries ago, clever them. Your idea are always great, you're creative and fearless.

For jewelry or reall small gifts you can use a toilet paper roll. Makes a really cute gift. I wrapped mine in scrapping paper but of course not the best but what I did

this year i wrapped my presents in elephant dung cloth wrapping paper and bags from earthbound! its tree free/sustainable and the material is so strong i found it can be numerous times! im saving up the remains of it from christmas to use next year!

So cute! I'm ghetto and I don't wrap presents. At stores, I try to stop them from putting it in a bags, but sometimes it inevitably happens and I just use that rather than purchasing a seperate bag. Also, amazon packages stuff in reusable bags (if I remember correctly)if you mark it as a present. If I don't get it on amazon or a bag, I just give them the present package free!

Super cute ideas! I'm totally going to gather up some of the pine cones in my freezing cold backyard! I absolutely love that idea & the way it looks! My sister actually found a shit ton of Christmas gift bags in a dumpster last year, so I'm going to use some of those to give gifts in this year! But I happen to think the newspaper & pine cones will be what I'm doing this year! For so many reasons! Plus maybe it will become something other people in my family will do in the future, then it won't seem so "weird" to anyone who receives gifts wrapped like that! 😏 loving all these videos lately! ❤️

I bought an old Atlas at the triftstore and these old cards are perfect for gift warpping. Not the ultimate solution (like old newspapers), but it looks really cute, is inexpensive and its secondhand so you don't have to buy anything new :)

I do the exact the same thing!!! Some people asked me about my poor status since I use scraps for wrapping gifts. My motto, "This is my traditional. It is not about the wrapping, it is all about the gift that show appreciation." Some people liked my comment while some other felt it was offensive. For these who were offended, I should be offended that they didn't frame the wrap papers.... Hmm...

My mom has tons of wrapping paper and I used mostly her scraps and extras, BUT I'm in design school and they require us to do a lot of very expensive color printing, I wrapped a few gifts in my old homework because I paid like $9 for it and put hours into creating the images on it

For Christmas I made my God kids quilts and instead of wrapping them I made them pillow cases and shove the quilt in the pillowcase and tied it with a ribbon. I also made them drawstring bags instead of buying a gift bag for their stocking stuffers or buying a stocking from the dollar store that was never going to be used again.

My Mimi tries to keep the wrapping paper. It takes her 10-15 minutes to open one gift. 🙄. We reuse boxes and bows because we just do

We also reuse tags sometimes. My grandmother/Mimi keeps anything she can. Reuses zip locks doesn't think food expires. She's weird 😂

I hate wrapping gifts so I only use it when I absolutely need to. (Otherwise I have been known to use old Walmart bags or paper grocery bags.). And I use to stock up on wrapping paper after the holidays when it would be like 90% off.

I loooove the brand who gives a crap, I'm signed up to their emails and everything but I haven't actually used it because it's just so expensive 😔 I can't justify spending that much on wiping my butt! It's roughly 4 or 5 times the price of the supermarket own brand stuff I use at the moment which I know is so so bad for the environment in so many ways! I've tried using cloth but I didn't get on with it, it felt too unnatural. I may try again but I not sure. Trying really hard at the moment to be more minimalistic and cut down on my shopping so I'm hoping this means that in the future I'll have more money to spend on more quality and ethical day to day items!

I think the better question is why would it be thrown away? It's still in the same form as it was when I found it, so anything I could have transformed it into before can still be done. I wouldn't just use a shirt for a single purpose and then throw it away. That would seem very counter productive to everything LOL (:

Angelina Albritton oh, yes! I plan on getting it back. But I can't repurpose all of the stuff I find on my own all of the time. I am still trying to find the best place to donate it. But my intention was never to wrap a present in a shirt and throw it away. 😊
