If you think gifted kids have it easy, and they wouldn’t present parenting and teaching challenges, I implore you to reconsider. From emotional intensity to asynchronous development, the gifted child struggles. Unlike their age peers, they often feel different and outside of the groups they belong to.
In fact, more often than not, the truly gifted often present problems which can prevent them from being properly identified. In my posts and video course, you can learn
-Characteristics to aide in proper identification
-Gifted characteristics that interfere with proper identification
-The five domains of overexciteability
-Problems with perfectionism
-Strategies to help

My 2 year old twins are autistic but can already count to 100, went from non verbal to full sentences in 6 months, they don't play with other kids or make eye contact but they can put a 100 piece puzzles together by themselves in about 15 minutes.

I am so happy more of this information is around in recent times. To grow up thinking you are dumb (when you have been diagnosed as highly intelligent at 51), is really sad because your whole life you n ever really trust your own judgement because others gaslight your ideas/pattern recognition - all_the_time, so you begin to think you must be dumb. then you get proven correct later, but it doesn't matter then. I hope more parents read this stuff so less adults grow up with this.

Wow, my son would freak out over me dying when he was at school for 2 years. He is severely dyslexic, just turned 12, definitely a lot more immature, very sensitive, feels like he dumb bc he struggles to read. Been home schooling him the past 2 years because he regressed so badly the last year. One of the smartest people I've ever met, he just can't do every day chores, clean up after him self. It constantly looks like a tornado has hit wherever he has been. If he can't get reading down and do it perfectly then he doesn't want to do it at all. Throws fits, picks fights, says he's sick to get out of anything he doesn't want to do. Please help, any information would be greatly appreciated.

As a parent of a gifted 18 year old, make sure you learn all you can about gifted kid burn out. It's a common occurrence. My son got a text book example of it and had to go to an online school to finish high school. He was going to a GATE school.

It’s so great to have videos like this now. When I was growing up we didn’t have RU-vid and no one really understood my situation :( The injustice thing is wild because I haven’t had many people talk about this being linked to high IQ. I dealt with it from an early age and no one understood why I cared so much about fairness and playing by the rules :P

Wow 😳 you just described my 7 year old girl. Her teachers in school told me they believe she should be in a gifted kids class. I hope I can help my child

I have seven kids assessed as gifted, when IQ was a criteria. Where I live, educational programmes are in place for the “identified” gifted, therefore the number of gifted in the education system has “dropped” due to reduced identification testing !!!!

Thank you. Can gifted children display behavioural issues in school like throwing sand, hitting and kicking etc?

Refusing to transcribe their Cicero lessons from Latin into Greek. I’m sure other parents out there no the anger when they don’t apply themselves.

true. most claim they're gifted but that claim proves that they're not gifted. if they were really gifted they wouldn't even need to claim. at the same time, these descriptions are what gifted children be in the social circumstances so in an another country they might not suffer like that, basically those symptoms are what that society's reaction is to the gifted children rather than gifted children's reaction for example eq. i know this because i fit into the gifted definition yet my eq or socialness isn't bad but most people, the westerners are especially worse, can't do it at my level and they see what's bigger than them as smaller than them so they really don't understand at all and then they blame others for their own problems. if you're gifted like me you understand what they don't understand about themselves. easy peasy. and even if your eq is bad you can learn it, gifted children learn much much more quickly so if they spend time and effort there shouldn't be any problem.
