Edit: Added problem context: So the middle of my screen suddenly stopped working properly and this is the only youtube video that came up for me related to that. More specifically, the almost exact middle has a large chunk where the backlight doesn't seem to be on. Most of these comments are pretty old so wanted to share my recent experience and boy it's been a rollercoaster ride. The software and firmware can be found on the Gigabyte site under the monitor model. The firmware update is STILL ANNOYING! The only way I could get it to work was by using the OSD Sidekick software(don't bother with the newer Gigabyte Control Centre, it won't work), manually downloading the firmware update (F11 is now the latest version) and then pointing the OSD software's update to the downloaded filepath of the firmware. The software doesn't seem to ever start the update by itself and just immediately crashed for me. Oh and you definitely need to connect the monitor via usb to the computer. I didn't run into any issues completing the firmware updates by following the above, BUTTTTT 1. First I tried F9 and that didn't make any difference 2. Then I tried F11 and that seemed to work at first as the middle panel backlight or whatever the hell is the problem went away...until I rebooted my computer 3. Also updated NVIDIA drivers. UH OH still not working...WTF 4. Replugged everything in, tried different cables, reset to default settings, turned everything off and on a bunch of times, smacked the screen 5. Sulked for awhile, then ordered a new monitor on Amazon 6. Shifted the monitor over to be my secondary, noticed that after powering it back on the issue wasn't coming back for a bit 7. 48 hrs later it is still working fine. Will it last? I have no idea, but if it doesn't I will definitely update this comment. Will I buy another Gigabyte anything? NOOOOOOPE!!!
Thank you for this! It seems as of late, within the last year there have been some new problems that Quality has missed. Which is really frustrating! I have had a few more issues, but nothing a restarted hasn't fixed. All in all it's hard to reccomend this monitor now days, with the various problems
Issue: Right Side Dimming My Solution: Have your Monitor connect to your PC (HDMI or DP) And connect your Monitor to your PC with the USB port. No downloading or anything, just Restart The PC. Side note: I never downloaded The Side Loader or anything. This has worked consistently for me a couple of times. Also the issue arrives when you have your screen sleep, disable this feature in setting. Lmk if this Helps
good video bro. if you going to be in one position and not planning to move much, you can take off auto focus and set it manually. it will stop the focus pulsing. i just ordered this monitor, so this was very helpful. i will defiantly do this when it arrives.
I appreciate the comment! I actually had the first take off and manually but sometimes I move towards the camera slightly and it was giving the video a bad look so I figured I would just turn it on so half the video wasn't blurry haha. I need to sit still when I video. As far as the monitor it is awesome, and I hope you enjoy it! Definately use Display port and update everything because just my two cents but the stock going out is still probably running the original drivers.
I have the g27qc and it flickers black as well.. any fixes for that? I noticed for the dimming on desktop it happened when my pc would fall asleep and rewake. A quick fix was always changing hz from 165 to 120 and then back to 165
I went very close to what they have listed here: www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gigabyte-g32qc IMO once you tweak to that, I would just do slight adjustments based on personal preference
Is there a possibility to reset a firmware update on a Gigabyte monitor? I have the M32U and updated from F02 to F10 and the input lag is better but the overall image quality is much worse. I have gamma, contrast and brightness issues and colors are more glowing in brighter and darker scenes. When I start a game from the menu on the PS5 the screen gets crazy bright. And is there a way to find out what RGB, 6 axis colors and vibrancy settings the sRGB mode uses?
I would say this would be an awesome monitor if you don't care about 4k.. It can for sure handle the FPS but since the monitor is 1440 you won't have that 4k feel to it.
@Curtisv I own a Gigabyte 32" Monitor G32QC and need to replace one of the light strips as I have a black bar, indicating that one of the backlights is not working. Could you provide the part number or share a link to the backlight strip that would be compatible with my monitor?
Sorry never saw this comment come in - Unfortunately I don't have the part numbers. You may be able to open a ticket with them, to see if they would give you the part info.
I have had this monitor for no more than almost a year and since I have it it has always had a problem, the problem is that when it is connected to my PC, either HDMI or DP, it loses the signal for some strange reason and at 10 o 15 seconds it detects the signal again, with normal use it is not annoying but if I am playing and I am in a chaotic scenario it is really annoying. Is there any solution for this? because I already spoke with Gigabyte and they literally refuse to give up the guarantee, putting many obstacles to request it. This occurs when the Overdrive is on speed, with AMD FS Premium activated.
I dont see any type of options on OSD kickback software i just uninstalled it all together. The options i had was RBG stuff for the motherboard. My screen is dim on this model on the far right side
I'd RMA the monitor G27C (that i was very happy with them) because the screen went black even when it was turned on with sound, i updated the firmware even when i could not see the screen. I probably should have updated before it happened. its a shame
I have a problem using the OSD Sidekick application - the USB cable disconnects me very often and that is the factory cable, what solution can they give me and it does not let me use the application
Hello I’m new in all or this. I buy a monitor and is not here yet. I wanna know how did I update the firmware. I did not know anything about coding. So first I install ods sidekick and then downloaded the firmware form the website or I can update from the app ? Also after I download the FireWire file how did I update?
First, never be sorry! You did awesome. As far as the ghosting I haven't noticed too much on COD I would say I am happy with how the dark areas are. For what it's worth, I don't use the game setting for my games I just use standard and tweaked the settings just slightly when I first got it.
Hey man, just wanted to add that this is still happening to me on F09 and F10 updates. I didn’t try running as admin so maybe I should re install and give that a shot. Otherwise I have a ticket with gigabyte that they still haven’t responded to.
Somehow I missed this. Was there any update? I always tend to run as admin because a lot of times windows will block updates to most softwares if you don't. Or it won't push the whole update through.
@@CurtisV tried a bunch of times re-applying the update as an admin. Eventually power cycling the monitor wasn’t giving a temporary solution anymore. I sent the monitor for RMA early March through the retailer I purchased from (in Canada) and still have no update about it exactly two months later.
@@CurtisV I had just bought this monitor, the a version and the screen keeps going black and it is quite annoying and unusable at times, how would I fix this issue?
@@talanorth8388 if you just bought it and you did a firmware update I would def take it back if your still within the window. Within the last 6-9 months there has been random issues with these that for some reason aren't able to be fixed by update. Not sure what they are doing at this point. To note though: mine is still running strong on the same update
I have problem with tisuća monitor ...A have screan tearing,my complete image work terible ...I hale gtx 1080 ,gsync on bit screan tearing non stop ...I set to on on off i have this problem..Why?
It should work, I have't tested it.. but you will want to grab OSD Sidekick from Gigabyte's website and connect to the laptop. I would recommend changing the default screen to JUST the monitor (so your laptop screen is black) - that way it doesn't get inputs confused. www.gigabyte.com/us/Monitor/G32QC/support#support-dl-utility
@@CurtisV i got it but i cant open it. every time i open it. it said that plz check if your usb cable is connectecd and than when i look it up it told me i need to connect to a LCD monitor. sry about asking to much. my q32 monitor seems to have no color at all.
You may need an updated HDMI cable for 120hz but it won't be at 4k - due to the monitor being 1440 (2k). As far as the monitor it can display up to 165hz but that would be with a Display Port cable (Monitor comes with both DP and HDMI cables in box).
This is taken from a website but, While the Gigabyte G32QC display is not officially certified as 'G-SYNC Compatible' by NVIDIA, you can use Adaptive-Sync with compatible GeForce cards. All you have to do is manually enable 'G-SYNC Compatible' in the NVIDIA control panel. I have enabled it this way and it works great. So the cost is a little bit less than a "true" G-Sync monitor IMO.
@@Ilham-xg3ic I am running a 1070ti and it works amazing. There is a good walkthrough on how to enable to on RU-vid, but if I get time this week I will try to make a simple explanation video.
I have this monitor and the other day the top bottom and sides went dim, so I shut it off and was fixed. But today a vertical section top to bottom to the right of the gigabyte logo went dim, I am on F11 and latest NVIDIA drivers. Any suggestions?
Same thing happened to mine a few days ago, but on the left side of the logo. Just got the RMA request approved. Not sure how much it is going to cost to ship to them.
@@CurtisV thanks i my monitor did have the f09 version. My problem is is the monitor flickers when playing warzone set to 120fps and with freesync on. When its off its fine. Really annoying when its supposedly advertised qs flicker free.
You ever feel that the response time isn't 1ms ? When ever i hop on cod or any other game it doesn't feel that responsive even tho my machine is high end ?
I notice a little bit of an issue on COD but for the most part it seems quick. The reason I say that is my last monitor was a pretty old and 1080p so I've never played on a true 1ms
