Giglio Sunday Tradition Continues with Help From New Lifters 

Tens of thousands of spectators filled the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn for Giglio Sunday, the highlight of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast. Nearly 100 mean carry a seven-story, four-ton structure. The 116-year-old tradition continued thanks, in part, to the church's first-ever recruitment drive for lifters.
