Hibben knives are super cool. I probably have 13 deffernt hibbens and to get that beast sharp, get you a steel sharping rod. Hold the blade at 20 degree slant go down and towards you about twice on one side then do it about twice on the other side. Do that about 5 times and she will shave for you. They’re still awesome blades. Congratulations
i am pretty sure rambo dont make the 3rd knife. he just has it. he makes the 4 th one that is a machete. and the sheath is not the same for the machete. it would not fit in the rambo 3 sheath. i have a hibben 3 but it is darker brown leather and one of the limited runs of 100 that are stamped J.R. then numbered 1 of 100 or 2 of 100. mine is 3 of 100. i love the rambo knives. got them all so far. just need the new one.
Probably right. I think I tried to read up on the Rambo knife history before making this vid back then. You'll find sometimes...I mess up in the vids but I try.
well i read somewhere else in yours or someone elses comments and they said in a special dvd of rambo 3 it shows deleted scenes and a scene that was deleted it showed him making the knife just like in rambo 4 it showed him making that one. not sure though. i just did a rambo 3 vid. mine is a special run of 100 and stamped J.R. 3 of 100. if you see mine you see at the end of the vid the closeup photos show the 3 of 100.
I just ordered a Signature Edition with a COA and this version only had 10,000 made. Looking forward to it. Yours looks more practical for actual use as opposed to a wall prop replica. Even still, these things are too nice for me to want to use for practical purposes anyway
I would Love to have all of them! I do have a Large Knife that was Sold by Snap On that was made because of the Crocodile Dundee! Movie. There were only 2000 of them made!
The blade must be 13 inches to be like the one in the film. If it’s from United cutlery then it’s to short. The real hibben cost about 2000$. If you want the one that’s just like that movie knife then you have to get it from Hollywood collectibles. It’s the only copy with a 13 inch blade. I just ordered one today. The knife you have is two inches to short
@@TheRealCobraBurnout I know for a fact that he still had the knife after his mission was over. Go back and watch the movie look closely you will see it. His Bowie knife is his preferred weapon of choice.
@@TheRealCobraBurnout he still has it with him when the rebels show up at the end. The knife will be on his left side go and whatch the end on RU-vid you will see it. There is a RU-vidr that has the ending posted the channel name is bart Simpson the video is 6:26 long first video on top when you type in rambo 3 movie ending.
Just a piece of advice...never ever use this knife for anything other than cutting paper or hanging on your wall. I has a rat tail tang and is not a hard use or real use knife. I have reviewed this knife and demonstrated how the knife is held together with a spot welded flimsy screw. Dangerous.
Timber Rattlers are normally full tang so they are usable for sure. May not hold up forever but Ive seen a few vids of folks doing the log spiting torture tests. Mine just sit in boxes but I believe you would get your money's worth out of them at least.
Because nothing kills a Doberman better LOL. I always liked the knife from the first movie. I think Randal made that one. I pimped out my bug out bag w/ a 24kt. gold leatherman, and a Randal knife. And I aint even lying.
I always thought the knife was supposed to have been sent to him along with the rest of his equipment by Kurtwood Smith's character, Griggs. Its in the 4th film that Rambo builds his own..
There was a deleted scene on the Rambo III ultimate edition DVD that featured Rambo gearing up for the rescue mission shortly after being told of Trautman's capture by the Soviets from Robert Griggs. Rambo was shown forging the knife by shoving it into the burning embers of a fire, letting it heat up and soften before withdrawing it and carefully tapping it with a hammer to shape it.
cool. i never knew that. i just left a comment saying i didnt think he made it in 3. but i never seen the deleted scenes. i just got the box set with all the extras and i just opened it today. so i cant wait to see that scene as i never seen it before.
I had the one in the Rambo 3 box. Gave it to my brother. Woulda kept it if it was a full tang. I took it apart and fixed it up along with the sheath because it was old used and nasty. When i did that I saw the bolt holding everything together was like an 8th of an inch thick. Why? I wanted to cut it off and weld a bigger one on but oh well. Waiting on my new ka bar in the next few days.🎉🎈🎊🎉🎈
cool knife, big ole hunk of blade! have you seen the kabar zombie knives? I just got one pretty cheap, I actually ordered it for the black handles to go on my baconmaker. found it in sale for $15.
TheRealCobraBurnout here's the link www.cdnnsports.com/kabar-zombie-death-dagger.html it's pretty neat, sheath is a black version of the baconmaker sheath.
Great knife but if you order the original one on Hibben Knives website you pay 1.850,00 $. The knife in the video is a replica isn't it? But still quite impressive to see such a monster. Beautiful!!!
Rambo didn't make the knife in the third movie..... It was supplied to him when he got into the middle east..... He loses the that knife in the 4th movie tossing it away (in an edited scene)at the same that he pours gas and burns the river pirates boat. Then when he decides to save the people that's when he forges a new knife himself.....thats the crude looking knife without a bowie style clip blade that the previous 3 knives had. Hibben did that knife too. The knife Hibben made for Sly for the 3rd movie was actually bigger than this one...... And the scene were he cuts the barb wire was actually an earlier version of the knife that Hibben had made that was kinda a cross between the knife you got and the Jimmy Lile knives from the earlier movies as it had a saw back edge...... Later scenes were shot were the knife looks exactly like yours just slightly larger scale as I said before. The knife in Rambo 3 actually had like a 12 or 13 inch blade were as the replicas have 11. I know.......i know entirely too much dumb info about these dam knives lol
CyberCurtainTwitcher thats funny, incidentally, did u hear that Sly is making part 5, something about Rambo taking on the cartels in Mexico, im not even kidding. Ill watch it cause i always loved the character.
Junk knives with partial welded tang. That knife is only good as a movie prop or impressing people that are not familiar with knife construction. The size of those Rambo knives would encourage you to use it for chopping. Chop much of anything with that and the tang will break and the blade will fly off. Use extreme caution if you ever use that knife.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gtiIy-Rq3-4.html there all the proof you need fast forward it to 3:30 The break down of the shitty knife
I'm curious and may take my Authorized reproduction apart. I would not be surprised if it is made similar to this though. Yes, there is a difference between the Authorized Gil Hibben reproductions and straight up knock offs. this is straight from Hibben knives website: "Gil Hibben makes handmade originals and authentic handmade reproductions in his one-man shop. He also licenses some of his designs to be made exclusively by United Cutlery. The United Cutlery knives are lower cost factory-made reproductions of Gil Hibben designs. Anything else is a fake!" www.hibbenknives.com/United-Cutlery/Countereit-United-Knives
I like Schrade for sure but the "rat tail tang" is very common in this style of knife. When done right its strong...however, I get your point for sure. The knife I show in this vid is more of a look...its a "Rambo" knife type of thing.
