@PotatoGunCamper
@PotatoGunCamper Месяц назад
@@patsnation1402 That is NOT the players fault. Taking open 3's over easy 2's came about because of statisticians entering into the game. Over a large enough sample size an open 3 is better than an open easy 2. The math works out that way. As longest you reach a specific range of 3 percentage it is worth it statistically. The players did not one day say, let's drain these 3's for the highlights-- they were given the greenlight in basketballs sort of Moneyball era.

@@PotatoGunCamper the math works if your name is curry and all those guys. How’s it going for the Charlotte hornets for example ? Money ball or broke ball? @@deelewis8061 I agree. Like lebron had 26 in game 2 against the nuggets with some big buckets down the stretch. BUT with a wide open 3 with 15 seconds on the clock. My thoughts: Too much specialization at too early an age: Playing other sports, utilizing other muscles and skill sets, was natural cross training. Too much play via AAU: Too much court time because of AAU during the summers. There is no offseason to actually rest. Mental burnout leading to physical burnout: By the time these youngsters get to the league they’ve already been playing 15-20 years of basketball and many of those years with injuries. Highlight culture: It’s hard for me to watch basketball these days because everyone wants to show off their bag rather than take a simple shot. I see this alot..especially with big men..I've seen alot of big guy, centers other guys doing double.cross..between the legs stepback jumper...I'm like unless the shot clock winding down..when are you ever going to do that move...you rebound and defend. And catch lobs...why are you working on stepbacks, and pull ups...

they just tryna be versatile bro. not everybody can be wemby with the shot creating or KD, but it’s cool to see people expand their game; but you right. the traditional big man is a lost art in the NBA because the game is expanding to where guards aren’t the only ones who can shoot anymore. the small guard has disappeared. basketball is more position less. the forwards play like guards now, and the centers shoot lights out and move like they’re 6 inches shorter. even Embiid you would think he would just be a paint beast but he’s over here hitting stepback middies and threes

Same way they say the mid range is poor percentage but the greatest scorers strive in mid range: MJ, Kobe, KD, Devin, Kawhi, need I say more.

The irony of McCants at the 10:30 mark. Says "a bucket is a bucket" but then penalizes players for not scoring the way Kobe did.

He really was tho. There weren’t many of the Tyrese maxey/jalen Brunson/gilbert arenas combo guards back then it was primarily Gil. Mccants coming out of college his ceiling was seen as an undersized 2 version of Gil with less ball handling more athleticism
