Exactly especially because these podcasts don't want to pay the millions to NBA so they can play the highlights on their podcast. The only person who actually plays game footage is Pat McAfee but he said he's paying over 5 million two NFL films for the rights to play their videos. That's why Gil's arena have to show the highlights on that video from a distance so they won't get copyright infringement

I am kinda confused on Gil’s point. I don’t see how Inside the NBA and Gil’s Arena/podcasts is related. Inside the NBA is a pre and post show around the games of that night. They may touch on certain things that is being said in the basketball world but it’s not what they are built around. Gils arena is more narrative driven based on games, trades, tweets, basketball history and other content creators. If Ernie decides to leave TNT and sign on with NBC and the others join him, they will still have a show. It has nothing to do with being “behind the times”.

The First Takes of the world follow the same formula as podcast 'Takes on daily issues' and the market is over saturated and Podcast are cheaper to produce. You're right Shaq has had his Podcast for years and so has Chuck and Ernie. But Inside is in a league of its own (the show is in the hall of fame), its real television and cant b duplicated (they've tried, and NBC will try). Another unfortunate casualty of business 🤦🏽‍♂️

One of the big problems that you see with new media is that they have absolutely no respect for anything before then, when you look at the production values and execution of a show like inside the NBA and just about every podcast, there’s a major difference. Even though I like the players podcast, they can be inconsistent and might not be around that long because you already see stuff falling off.
