Gilby used to mix a band I was in in the mid 80’s...Dirty Dogs...Club Lingerie. Gilby was THE best sound guy in LA in those days and a cool guy.....miss those days.....
Gilby one of the most under rated guitar players and rock guys of all time. I was a big GnR fan and saw them for the first time at the Freddie gig. Picked up the pawn shop record the day it came out and big time coming back to his records now.
Finally got a chance to catch up with this one, such a great interview. Awesome to listen to two great musicians talking guitars and memories . Long time fan of Gilby and a proud member of the original Gilby Clarke/Pawn Shop Guitars Fan Club. Pawn Shop remains one of my favorite albums, and learned to play Dead Flowers from it. Another classic show from Team Roxie. RGA rules. 🤘
I so appreciate that you guys go live and do videos. Sharing your stories with your fans. I wish Axl Rose would do a live video and share what he's been up to. You guys are rockin it.
Great podcast Ryan. I didn't know much about Gilby, until this. What a cool guy. Also love the fact that he's doing the machining for his bikes. I can totally relate to that since I have a background in Machine Trades myself. Love the casino bit. Plenty of them in Ontario, Canada where you played with Alice. Keep 'em coming!
Yeeeeeeess!!!!! I was there in Argentina at the 2 concerts. 1994. It was INSANEEE!!!! Wildest rock!!! Roxie, you had been wearing a cool Puma shoes, haha. And you were posessed, jumping, and running the stage. Gilby was on fire too.The band was insane, tight. You open with "DOWN ON THE FARM" from UK SUBS. And blew my mind. Then you played BLACK, JOHANAS CHOPPER, JAIL GUITAR DOORS, HAUNTING DOGS, CURE ME, PAWN SHOP GUITARS, DEAD FLOWERS, LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS!!!!, HAPPINES IS A WARM GUN!!, ITS SO EASY, ETC ETC. I HAVE THE SHOW RECORDED IN A CASETTE FROM THE RADIO!!!! AMAZING. REGARDS AND CHEERS FROM BSAS, ARGENTINA!!!!
