Aloy was asked by Laulai to take a look at the dam basin, where something seems to have happened to flood the entire basin. She had been using the pipes as a traditional musical instrument, and is upset that she can no longer reach them. Aloy heads inside, and finds a peculiar and eager man there who might have accidentally had something to do with the flooding.
Horizon Zero Dawn is an adventure game developed by Guerilla Games, where you play as a tribal outcast named Aloy, growing up in a post-apocalyptic world where robots had gained sentience and now live alongside organic life. Aloy embarks on an adventure to learn what she can about her heritage and the robots, as decades of mysteries come crashing down upon her.
