I bought this and didn't like it, I got more irritation on top of my head for some reason, I prefer Mach 3 and it's cheaper. I'll keep it for my balls maybe.
Damn I was going to try this. I use Mach 3 and have used it for years on my face.. my head doesn’t get too much irritation but I do find some razor bumps on my temple area. Was hoping this razor may help that..
TheJustina102085 i used the mach 3 turbo for awhile, but i prefer the closer shave of the fusion 5 blade. It also takes far fewer passes to get a smooth shave. Just tried the skinguard for the first time two days ago and it felt like i wasnt even shaving it was eerie. I know a new blade is going to be alot sharper but i was ridiculous how smooth it felt on my head. Not as close of a shave as the fusion 5 blade but its only been one shave so far
I like the gillette fusion skin guard blade they shave my head very good is the best shave I ever had so I'm going to shave it every day you guys should try it it keeps my head smooth close shave.
21 and losing my hair, your channel makes me feel so much better. I like how you focus on improving what you can improve as a guy, instead of holding on to something that you’re losing. Keep it up bro you’re helping so many guys out there
I'm 22 and recently decided to shave my head, really getting used to it! Of course, always do what you think is best for your hair, but if you decide to go for it, I'll be happy to welcome you to the club
Brandon Hunter hey man, no one can feel bad for a guy who takes it on the chin and accepts the fate his genes had in store for him. I started losing mine around 21 or 22 and i went straight to a buzz cut for about 5 or 6 years, getting a little shorter all the time. Once i got down to a number 1 once a week i bought clippers and started doing it myself and then a year later i shaved my head for the first time. As crappy as it is, just embrace it and own it and people will respect you for it. It took me a couple years to fully accept it, but now its all good. Good luck man!
See I always go with the grain first, then against the grain if I want to. That way going against the grain is easy. I shave in 5 parts rinsing in between. Top, right side, left side, half the back, other half. Takes about 1 min. I also use long strikes patterned down. Like I'm cutting grass. Idk how you shave like that haha. Sounds like it hurts.
I use it quite often its just great. By the way not to change the subject I am going to see Genesis in November,2021 and that's a cool photo of Phil in 1976 during the Trick of the tail era. Stay cool brother.
Bought this to clean up my neckline and cheekline for my beard, but I was thinking of using this to go all the way bald. I've been rocking the 3mm look for a few months, and I think it's time to go all-in for the first time.
This is pretty much the only razor I've ever used that doesn't leave me covered in razor burn. I started shaving my head with clippers and no guard about 22 years ago, I was around 20 & just got tired of long hair in this hot & humid weather. Then about 8 years ago, I noticed the hair wasn't growing back anymore on the top & so on. I've tried multiple electric and regular razors. The Skin Guard is about the best razor for me that I've found. I can go with & against the grain with little to no irritation. I also use a Braun Series 3 that I've had for a couple years. As long as I shave every day, every other at the least, the Braun does really good. The closeness being almost exactly the same as the Skin Guard. I'd like to upgrade the Braun though. I'm thinking a Series 5 5018s, which is around $50 to $70...
sorry for giving you a silly long winded unsolicited response but I reckon that is some of the most gangsta only shit ever to be so practical that you shave your head because hair is impractical in the heat and then too to do it for so long and shit don't grow back ....Im actually kind of similar I used to allways shave with the clippers no gaurd to a 0 and then at some point I developed sebohric dermatitis so I have no choice but to shave it ..funny when people use to knock my penchant for shaving me head as ugly I used to insist they were wrong but now that I dont have the option of having hair because of how much it itches im quite gutted how well it is what it is
Hydro 5 is good razor, but I don't like! I shave my head with Gillette fusion prosheild flexball chill and Gillette skinguard. Very smooth, but is subjective
Just found your channel and it's very helpful! I'm going bald. And I want to proceed with shaving the head. What blade do you recommend? Or what is your personal favorite?
Great video. I just started using the Skinguard for headshaving. I like that it doesn't get all clogged up. I go a few days between headshaves, so the razor has a lot to do.
I normally love your videos, but after Gilette bashed men and masculinity in their ad earlier this year, what self-respecting male would support that organization by buying their product? Had they produced an equivalent type of commercial stereotyping females or any other group in a negative manner, you would have had a massive backlash by supporting one of their products. I think you should respect those men who are offended by Gillette and focus on other products.
I just noticed your sentence in the description stating, "Lets put advertisement controversy aside for a moment". Uh, no, let's not. Why would you? Don't compromise your integrity by supporting a company who hates men so you can make a quick buck. Please delete this video and let your viewers put aside your bad judgment so we can move on.
I’m glad you feel passionate about it and that’s good. I also think the world has gone mad with this toxic masculinity business and all the rest of it. I will do a video talking more about that advert etc. After looking more into it I’m thinking more and more that is was actually just a pretty clever publicity stunt. I totally respect guys who decided to boycott this brand. The reality though that a lot of guys will be annoyed but still buy the product. That ad put the name Gillette everywhere. I’m still researching their sales figures etc but I think it was really just a stunt to stir the pot and get the same Gillette into peoples heads.
@@Baldcafe - You may be right that it was a publicity stunt because they know men are weak when it comes to standing up for themselves. Just look at how easy you disregarded the boycott. They also know no one else will support men either. Men have been abused a lot lately and the result is a suicide epidemic. It's not reported because it's only men. No great loss to feminists who pretty much rule the world now. Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T3xs8wUNBEo.html and this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kqx8kS2GyDc.html
shyman99 I completely agree with you about the epidemic and I completely disagree with this current notion that men should be emasculated or “conform” in ways to please everyone. For the record though I’m actually no longer a regular user of Gillette and I opted instead for a Dorco and I’m trying so hard to be a regular DE safety user.
@@Baldcafe - That's great to know. Just understand that sticking up for men's rights can get you demonetized and even banned. Thankfully mainly guys watch your videos so hopefully no one will report your support of men as inappropriate content. As you can see I am passionate about being an advocate for men so if I disappear from RU-vid you will know why.
I use this razor only because it is almost impossible to cut yourself with it. I got a small hump on the back of my head and even tho I really like the Mach 3 for being ultra sharp I almost always cut myself there with it. I think it is a good razor for people who got humps or anything that can lead to easy cuts
I've tried a lot of razor's of the years and this is the best by far. it leaves no irritation and leaves my head really smooth. Its even better if you use it with the skinguard shaving gel👍👍
I just shaved my head for the first time today, and i found that i have a giant mole or something on the very top of my head so it was quite difficult to shave the crown. I think i might need to get it removed, if i want to keep shaving my head
thanks man. you are awesome and really appreciate your channel. am dealing with thinning hair and i shave my head with the buzzer weekly. looking to transition into the razor shave this month for a cleaner look. you rock the shaved head look like a true boss by the way. cheers mate
I used a machine similar to the pitbull and it left bumps all over my head and wasn't a close enough shave. I cleaned up with the gillete skinguard razor and it helps a lot. If you push down a little harder it helps a lot. Ps. I used to shave head with straight razor so it isn't as close, but pretty damn close.
I just shaved the whole head for ''zero''. I used the blades u recommended in that video. Just like u said: was pretty easy, smooth & fast. Thanx for good tips. Your channel is very helpful.
I use the Schick Xtreme 3 for sensitive skin disposable razors, Barbasol shaving cream and Gillette sensitive skin after shave gel. Works better than any if them 5 blade razors. The 5 blade razors by Gillette don't have as much contact. Plus, the razors I use don't leave all that excess cream all streaked and smeared across my head and face.
Also love the beard. As brother of a barber if you shaped and just trimmed some of those fly aways it actually gives you a fuller look. I used to just grow mine but since I started neating up with clippers looks moles better and fuller...maybe another video "grown vs shaped"
I use de Wilkinson for my beard, but for my head I prefer multiblades for quick shave.no irritation, no razor burn, ingrow hair.nothing is perfect! Every 2 day,one passages with prosheild, clean! For the head FOR ME I don't like de,straight razor
Hey man, could you make a video on if it’s worth getting dollar shave club to start shaving your head? Also huge fan really enjoy your work and positivity, only 21 now but I’ve been buzzing my head with the wahl balding clippers for 6 months haven’t looked back since! :) if you ever need a new podcast guy feel free to message!
@@shyman99 they're not men haters it's called inclusivity, everybody is welcome at the table men, women, transgender, gay people and all the others this is not just a boys club or a men's club get that through your head
@@shyman99 with you on the man hating part! Good thing I have my skull shaver that does the job and switched my shaving cream to nivea which is superior to gillette
For the past few months, I've been wearing a mohawk and recently started shaving my head around it. I actually use the Gillette Fusion 5 ProGlide, but it gets clogged really easily and it's hard to clear. This looks like a good possible replacement ... though I don't know how it'll treat the hairline along the sides of my mohawk. I want to have that clean edge, but I'm nervous about using a safety razor or straight razor.
Aaron Little hey man i had the same problem with the fusion 5 blade. I switched from a traditional shaving cream to ‘creamo’ shaving soap and i havent had a problem since. I tried a few different razors to fix the problem but switching from shaving cream to shaving soap made all the difference. But wither way the skinguards blades are so far apart, clogging is a non issue
For me man Gillette fusion proshield flexball is number one, bicause is only razor with double lubrificant and very very smooth, second Proglide excellent razor, and mach3 turbo with 3 blades,it very close shave.headblade 4 in position! This is my favorite headshave routine. 😎👍😀
@@Baldcafe brilliant thanks, I have the Philips one blade and I like it but I wanted to try a standard razor but I've sensitive skin so I've ordered this (non battery version) there's alot of resistance on the Philips one blade when head shaving, but I found it did a better job than my other Philips all in 1 shaver
hi mate i love the skinguard blade myself i do it in the shower on my head twice a day to tie up loose ends and its great doing it in shower than in front of a mirror. though i have a question have you used the gillette proshield razor or the gillette proshield chill. are they any good.
Rajiv Gillette fusion prosheild flexball and Gillette fusion prosheild flexball chill is the same.but I prefer the Gillette proshield chill because the lubricants strips refresh your head. Now I use both the Gillette fusion prosheild flexball chill and Gillette skinguard.
Ive used this razor a few times and it does not cause irritation but I’ve found that i kept missing spots and going over the same spots again & again. Spot on review Harry. One day Gillette will be a sponsor of Baldcafe😎
Baldcafe use caution ... tons of unscrupulous clinics that will take your money .... I speak from experience over the years I went to a number of salons . And had probably 50 treatments over the Ten years from different clinics . All of them were using intense pulsed light system which will never ever work for men . You have to have laser which is far more affective dependent on the therapist - the age and condition of the machine etc . Guys be careful and don’t get ripped off . Do your research as most are just after your cash 😒
@@Baldcafe Harry just helpful advice, don't get in the "political" fire...the best thing for you is to stay neutral. If you are going to support one side over the other that causes loss of viewers and i sure would hate to see that for you ;)
@@Bondfinesse - Posting videos of Gilette products automatically supports one side over the others. So based on your advice, Harry should avoid mentioning Gilette at all in any of his videos. This is primarily a male channel. Losing viewers will result by supporting Gilette.
@@Baldcafe - I predicted the Gillette employees would appear. I have spotted two of them already since our earlier exchange. They are so apparent it is laughable. Stay strong with your convictions, Harry. Gilette can apologize for their disgusting and offensive depiction of men if they want our business back.
@@shyman99 wrong, I have followed Harry since day one, even bought one of his shirts but i will unsubscribe to him if he wants to get political, i come here for the head shaving info, i like his personality but i will quit if he wants to get political, i am not here for that.
Just finished using the skinguard for the very first time a couple of minutes ago. Absolutely awesome blade, just fantastic. However I did not like the handle. Very uncomfortable and slippery.
