Fun fact: Gill was made that ridiculous half red half blue so capcom could show off that their new engine could make a char that was actually different depending on what side of the screen instead of just a flipped image hence the pyrokenises/cryokenisis

This is my favorite theme. It’s a mixture between killing moon (Akuma’s theme), Twilight (Ibuki’s theme) and Snowland (Necro and Twelve’s theme) Psych Out is perfection.
Interestingly, though, I used to think of Killing Moon as being a combination of this track and Twilight and not the other way around, but I guess that makes sense; I'm not quite sure I notice the Twilight leitmotif in this one though.
Additionally, his character itself could be a mixture of other characters themselves as well; Urien (same stance and similar moveset, and he's his brother), Yun and Yang (the twins kind of representing Fire and Ice based on their personality, with Gill representing a balance between the two, like the Yin-Yang), and Alex (Somewhat similar hair and face, and Alex being his rival and playing a role in the story and his ending).
I think poisen fits it more, she only makes a brief appearence as part of Hugos fight intro and Makoto is obviously a girl, heck it's impossible to mistake unless you couldn't tell from her voice and what she looks like I don't think anyone would've thought makoto was a guy

Fun Fact: this song was taken straight from the official CD soundtrack release, and not just gameripped. Gill's entrance theme plays for like half a second in the beginning, which is only in the CD version.
I don't understand people who say his second impact theme is better. yeah, it's good, but this is a much better theme overall and gives him a much more mysterious and badass theme, whilst the second impact theme is more angelic, this one hammers in the themes of his two sides, with the bass feeling somewhat warm while the synths and the melody give off a cold feeling. this theme is also made more sense as a battle theme, whilst Nile feels like something that could only be played during his ending or his introduction.
Yeah, I would actually agree that it better represents both his sides, but consider this; the Judgment Day theme from New Generation has a more sinister/villainous feel (his stage even has lava flowing), which could represent his fire side, and then Nile sounds more ethereal/'cool', which could represent his ice side, and then this one could represent both of them mixed together. I like this theme too, but I guess I would have to say I prefer Nile because it gives me chills and evokes a feeling I hadn't gotten from this one; I played 3rd Strike on an emulator when I was young and never really played NG or 2I, so it felt different and new to me.
Still in my opinion the scariest Street Fighter Villain. This theme song made you feel you're not fighting a man but a supernatural being or something.
What I picture listening to this theme: the good guys facing Gill and while he's giving them the hardest time ever, suddenly they realize even if they win, they've lost already. Like some kind of inevitability is around the corner, a plot turning bad even if he is defeated. Really cool theme, heavy, elegant and sort of sad at the same time
This and Killing moon are my all time favs. As I mentioned in a previous video, When I owned the dreamcast and this game was released for it but only in Japan. I had a gameshark and it allowed you to play import games. I was the only one of my friends that owned this game and I imported the soundtrack. I'm not sure if they ever released this for the US Dreamcast at the time. But man, did my friends envy me back then lol. We didn't have to go to the arcade anymore to play it, just came by my house and we stayed up hours upon hours lol.

Urien's Gill Costume is coming for SFV today, which kinda tells you we won't see Gill anytime soon in SFV and he isn't going to be the final boss in the 2nd Cinematic Story. SFV will have another final boss instead of Gill - Necalli.

I still hate fighting this guy mostly because where other bosses have patterns, SF3 made this boss smart by not playing into the players defensive notions and profoundly made him a bit more unpredictable especially since anyone can parry/red parry
Tbh, when they first announced Gill for SFV, I thought he would be Brawl Meta Knight levels of broken because of how hard he was in 3rd Strike. Thank goodness Capcom managed to make him balanced

Why are there so many Jojo like characters in Third Strike Gill is Kars Urien is Wamuu Remy is Diavolo Yun is Jotaro Hell, Makoto is pretty much just a reverse Narancia. SFIII is just one big ass Jojo reference.
He's half based on Edge. Look at Gill's moveset, they're almost all wrestling moves. (Clothesline, Powerbomb, his Knee smash is an off-the turnbuckle move...) Kikadeer + Edge + Boss Juice= Gill
