I find that each natural hair brush has it's own lather, if you will, where the syn brushes seem to lather uniformly. However, a silvertip is still hard to beat imo. Can't go wrong with PAA and vintage Gillette. Interesting shave.

Great shave and discussion about vintage razors, I didn't purchase my first new razors until a couple months ago. Everything I use that's vintage is around 55 years or older and the newest vintage one I have is 37 years old that I purchase myself in 1983. I prefer the milder razors that most of the Gillette persuasion provide

Do you wear a face mas in public there? I can't imagine what the mustache and goatee must be like after walking around in warm weather. My mouth and chin are soaked after 30 minutes. Are you going to go face naked this summer? Remember, it's not a shave if you don't shave the chin and upper lip region!
@IAMCDB
@IAMCDB 4 года назад
Honestly, I haven't been out in public more than a handful of times. I put the mask on long enough to go to the store or whatever and that's it. In terms of the shave, I see your stache and chin area and raise you an entire dome shave. Dome shaving IMO is by far the most difficult.
@shave-a-thon3415
@shave-a-thon3415 4 года назад
@@IAMCDB I almost did it with a buzz cut I gave myself 3 months ago. I cut the hair on my noggin to within 1/16" using electric clippers. Obviously, it's not shaving, though. A mustache and goatee with my stubble that almost grows into my nose reduces a 3 pass shave and pickups for me to a little over 10 minutes long. I can't tell you how many times I need to buff the area directly under the nostrils. This is a photo from Movember 2018. It's the last time I grew a mustache and goatee. This is a 30 day growth and I had to buzz the mustache and trim the hair growing over the lip at the two week period: imgur.com/a/eam7xFL If you look closely, you'll see the stubble growing down to the collarbone.
@IAMCDB
@IAMCDB 4 года назад
@@shave-a-thon3415 Wow! You're not joking. I totally get why that's a super difficult area for you now.
@shave-a-thon3415
@shave-a-thon3415 4 года назад
@@IAMCDB Looking again at that photo, I just realized how much time I need to spend in that area just below the lower lip. I need a good 4 buffs a tiny fraction under the lower lip after the 3rd pass to get to BBS. I've also noticed that very few shavers need to trim the bridge of their nose during a shave. If I didn't , I would have a bit of a unibrow going on. I have to perform a few strokes on the sides of the eyes and very top of the cheekbones under the eyes, too.
@FriendshipShaving

I would love, love a Toggle! Oh boy. That was terrific shave Chris, thank you. The brush was amazing; I have a vintage, NOS, Gillette travel brush with a pure badger knot and I've found that it is the best badger knot I have tried. It too isn't really scritchy at all. I'm not so much into natural hairs normally. I really enjoyed your look of resignation when you talked about dipping into you savings, for that stone. Classic. Enjoy your Sunday.

Nice shave .... I've been on the fence about Cold Spice. I'm literally a vintage guy, my Gillette date code would be a Z4 if they would have stamped it on me at the hospital.
